Any option to access Exchange 2003 from OS X Lion?

Besides installing VMWare Fusion and running Outlook 2002 inside a VM (i.e., feel the pain), is there any native e-mail client on OS X 10.7 that can access an Exchange 2003 server ?  I get the feeling that I'm stuck with this only one option.  Apple Mail requires Exchange 2007 SP1 or later.
Thanks.
Chris

I know that every OS has a limit as to which Safari version can be installed, but before reinstalling Lion I was running Safari 6.x and I know I never upgraded to Mountain Lion, which means that Safari 6+ actually can be run on Lion.
Although it's definitely possible that Apple has changed that recently, so don't hold me to it.

  • Cannot Uninstall Exchange 2003 from former SBS2003 server

    Hi,
I have this problem uninstalling Exchange 2003 from a prior SBS2003 installation.
    Started with SBS2003 with Exchange2003 on server1
Then added server2, with Exchange2003 Standard
Then transitioned succesfully Server1 from SBS2003 to Server2003 Standard with Exchange2003 standard.
Now I have added 3 Exchange2010 servers and migrated completely to Exchange2010.
Uninstallation of Exchange2003 Standard from Server2 went succesfully.
I cannot find a way to uninstall the last Exchange2003 Standard from Server1
In Control Panel add remove programs there's no option to enter SBS setup anymore.
When starting setup.exe from SBS CD2 (i386 directory) I'm asked for a Product Key but I have no valid key to enter. Tried SBS key, Transition key, nothing works.
When downloading an Exchange2003 SP2 installation exe I only have the option to upgrade the existing installation. No option to uninstall.
What is the way forward? I'm stuck right now.

    Joost

    Hello,
If you don't uninstall exchange 2003 in Control Panel add/remove programs, you may need to uninstall it by ADSIEDIT. Do not remove this Administrative Group unless you’re absolutely sure there’s
no object in Active Directory referencing this Administrative Group in the ExchangeLegacyDN attribute.
    More information for your reference.

  • Uninstalling Exchange 2003 from Additional DC

    Hello,
We have an old exchange 2003 installed on additional Domain Controller. We have already moved all the mailboxes to exchange 2007 server. Now we would like to uninstall exchange 2003 from Domain Controller.
Will Domain Controller have any problems when we try  to uninstall exchange 2003 ?
    http://www.arabitpro.com

    Hi syed,
    Thank you for your question.
If all services which are on Exchange 2003 have migrate to Exchange 2007 and run without any problems for a long time, we could uninstall Exchange 2003 from control pane.
If there are any issues after you uninstall Exchange 2003; welcome to our forum for help.
    If there is a reminder there is previous Exchange in organization when you deploy Exchange 2013 in the future, we could navigate the follow path to delete Exchange 2003;
    Run ADSIEDIT.msc in RUN;
    Navigate Configuration[domain.com]>service>Microsoft Exchange>domain>Administrative Groups>Exchange Administrative Group>Server;
Then we find the previous Exchange server and delete it.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

  • Is there any way to access my contacts from a non apple device?

Is there any way to access my contacts from a non apple device?
I am waiting on my new phone to arrive but in the mean time can I access my contacts from a non apple device? Please help!

If you synced them to iCloud, you can view them on icloud.com from your computer.  They can also be accessed from an Android device using SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts.  Or, you can download them from iCloud as a vCard (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3606), then import them to another service such as Google in order to sync them with a non-Apple device.

  • Any option to invoke OCR tool from a keyboard only without mouse

As surprising as it may sound, I could not find any option to run from keyboard a command to start OCR (Optical character recognition) operation for the current document.
Many (actually the most) in operations commands Adobe Acrobat Professional XI can be run with a keyboard hotkey (shortcut) and/or via main menu accelerator keys, say, as a command "Create PDF from file" with a hotkey Ctrl+N or keyboard accelerators Alt+F -> R -> F.
So if you your mouse fails to work or you can not use a mouse due to some accessibility issues, you can however run the most commands using the keyboard only.
But I could not find any way to start OCR recogniizing operation using keyboard only, neverthless how long serie of key pressing you are ready to fulfill. Well, you can use accelerators Alt+V(iew) -> T(ools) -> T(ext Recognition) in order to open Tools sidebar at the left edge of the window - and than?.. Seems, that there is no option to get a focus to this vertical toolbar without mouse.
As I can not use my mouse just now, it is a real headache for me Is there any solution?
    Thanks in advance!

    @ CtDave
I'm afraid, that you have missed the most important part of my clarification. Your advice will not help, if somebody (not necessarily you, but rather the previous owner of the document) has already recognized it - but only in some part. Say, the command/hotkey Ctrl+A will not help, if the document has only 1 recognized page from 100 pages, what is a quite probable situation.
Ctrl+A will not help too, if the document is already recognized, but with wrong charset and/or output style and/or resolution - and you need to re-OCR it with correct settings.
I do not see, how your additional explanations of which OCR settings are correct, could help in such situation.
So Ctrl+A (Select all) command is a workaround for some very restricted situations.
To have a consistent OCR workflow simply set the PDF Output Style to Searchable Image (Exact).
Usually I prefer the option [Searchable Image]. Do you think, that [Exact] is generally better?
There is no user configuration/choice of 'charset' consequently this is not a viable concern.
Hm... Have you ever put attention to the dialog Recognize Text, including the very 1st line in the [Settings] field, that is [Primary OCR Language]. And the the button [Edit...] with the proper language settings as well (please look at my screenshot here: http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/9172/k56.gif
As one can suggest, when you select the primary OCR language, it also involves the charset too, because, say, English, French and China languages charsets are quite different.

  • New Outlook 2013 Installation - How to configure for default pop email and access exchange 2003 server for shared folders only

I have successfully installed and configured outlook 2013 to access my pop.integra.net email accounts.  We have an 2003 exchange server we use for shared folders which I am having difficulty accessing.
My preference would be to set up my access to the exchange server and use the same data folders for email as are in use for my pop email account.  In outlook 2003 this was simple, but in 2007 on up it seems this feature has been hobbled.  Is there
a workaround to get both accounts to use the same database?
Next issue is if I use the Mail client wizard under Control Panel to set up access to the exchange server - everything looks fine but when launching outlook I receive the following 2 error messages:
"The resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange.  Contact your e-mail administrator for assistance."
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened.  Your Microsoft Exchange administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that your are using.  Contact your administrator for assistance."
Obviously the optimal solution is to upgrade the Exchange Server - assuming that is not an option - are there any workarounds?
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Downgraded to Office 2007.
So now have a new Windows 8.1 laptop with outlook 2007 installed.
From what I have been told this should allow me to connect to the Exchange2003 server
I set up the pop account - works fine
set up the exchange account through Mail.exe and am unable to launch outlook.
    "Microsoft Exchange is Unavailable"
"Retry - Work Offline - Cancel"
    Then
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.  Cannot open the Outlook Window.  The set of folders cannot be opened.  The information store could not be opened."
The data file path is the same for both the pop account and the exchange account:
    C:\Users\Scott\app data\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst
How do I get this to work?
    Help!

  • Is there any way to access your favourites from inside Illustrator?

I have saved a series of favourites in Kuler but can't work out how/if you can access them from Illustrator. TIA for your assistance. Jo

    Hi JoJoBally1,
I'm not seeing a really easy way to just view favorites specifically. Here are my thoughts/suggestions
The Kuler extension Window>Extension>Kuler is not user specific but does allow you to search by author and has the option send to the swatch panel. I probably wouldn't go this route as it is kind of labor intensive.
I'd probably save all your favorites as local files and then just either load them individually as needed or put them in the presets folder.
    Something like this:
    1. Sign in Kuler.adobe.com with your Adobe ID that has all your favorites
    2. Select the Favorites section under MyKuler
    3. Create a folder on the desktop of your computer named Favorites
    4. Save each of the favorites as a .ase file into the folder you created on the desktop by selecting it and hitting the save button on the webpage
    5. Close Illustrator
    6. Copy the entire Favorites folder into the Swatches Presets folder on your computer, not sure what OS your are on but probably something like \Adobe Illustrator CS6\Presets\en_US\Swatches\
    7. Launch Illustrator, open the Swatch panel (Window>Swatches), in the flyout menu in the top lefthand corner Open Swatch Library towards the bottom of the menu
    8. Favorites should be in the list there and you should be able to select any of the themes you put in the folder
Thats probably the process I would use

  • Prevent users from accessing Exchange online from non ActiveSync Device

I will try and make this question as clear as I can-
We recently switched from an on-prem Exchange to Exchange online. Previously, the only three ways of accessing our email was VPN, ActiveSync and webmail. However, it now appears that any user can use any device that accepts an Exchange email account and
start getting their emails. I understand this is the idea of cloud email, but as a HIPAA organization, this presents a serious security risk. My question is this-how can I track how users access email? I know I can limit things based on IP(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh526961(v=ws.10).aspx),
but then it would work if they had a VPN connection and we allow certain users to access our servers using their home PC if they use a VPN connection. But now they do not need that.
Is there any way to track what devices and users are accessing our hosted Exchange environment, or is this just the nature of hosted email?

    Hi Dkurz8814,
using Office 365 / Exchange Online you are able to limit access to the Mailbox to OWA and ActiveSync only.
    1. Please logon as an Administrator to the Office365 Admin Center and choose "Users" -> "Active Users".
    2. Now click on your user and view the users properties. Choose more from the menu on the left.
    3. Now choose "Edit Exchange Settings", and choose "Mailbox functions" on the left.
Now you find some Settings how to access to your mailbox. Disable POP3, IMAP, MAPI, .... so you can get the desired result. On that page you can also check for connected devices via ActiveSync.
You may also use the set-casmailbox to do the same
http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/bb125264(v=exchg.150).aspx in case you need a more automatic tool.
Please let me know if that answered your question.

  • Is there any option to select Desktop Software from various versions ?

    Hi,
I am using blackberry curve 9300 for more than one year. To manage my phone I downloaded and working with desktop software 5.x for my purpose. I am using Windows XP SP2 for my PC and it's working fine for all of my purposes.
One week ago, I took a step forward to get PlayBook (OS 2.0). So, I planned to manage both the phone & playbook with desktop manager. Now, the latest PC software version 6.1.x is available (only available) on blackberry site to download. And after downloading I came to know that it is for Win XP SP3 or later OS versions.
I searched a lot and even talked to my local shop from where I bought the Playbook to provide me some compatible software ( may be 6.0.x which is OK with SP2), but he doesn't seems has much idea about that.
I am working on this combination of OS for long and it's working fine for all my development and other works. Changing the OS will be the last option in any case. It will cause a lot of changes and loss of great amount of data and time.
Can you please suggest some way out ?May be I can download compatible older version of desktop software from some link.

You can try to search blackberrys download database for a database on the older versions of blackberry software, if they have removed it now im sure there are Some websites about try Google.

As a rule you are not permitted to downgrade software. However you can try your nearest Nokia care centre and try to give them sufficiently strong reason. They MAY agree to downgrade. Decision is solely dependent on them.
And yes, please dont fall prey to the tricks available on internet.

  • Cannot access exchange attribute from java

I have tried to access pwdLastSet attribute for a particular staff inside the Active Directory 2008, works fine. However when I try to access msDS-UserPasswordExpiryTimeComputed I get null pointer exception. The value associated with this attribute is available. Infact I am getting error for all msxxxx fields. I am unable to understand why I cannot, access these attributes.
    Attribute attr=attrs.get("pwdLastSet"); ---> works fine
    //Attribute attr=attrs.get("msDS-PrincipalName"); ---> throws an exception.
Would appreciate help to resolve my problem.

//Attribute attr=attrs.get("msDS-PrincipalName"); ---> throws an exception. If that throws a NullPointerException it can only be because attrs is null. Or else you need to post the stack trace here.

I have an old Sony Mavica   MVC-CD500 -  is there any way I can download cd to imac running Lion

If you use iPhoto, just insert the CD into your optical disc drive, wait for iPhoto to see the disc and open on its own.
iPhoto will load previews of all of your images from the disc.
In the lower right hand corner of iPhoto's application window, click the Import All button and iPhoto will begin downloading the images into iPhoto.

  • Event ID 5013 - Old Exchange 2003 reference from Active Directory - Performance Issues or Just a Message?

    Hello,
I am working on an existing 2010 Exchange implementation.  The site has one Exchange 2010 server with no other Exchange servers running and/or available.  I looked through the application logs and I see multiple Event ID 5013 errors that state,
"The routing group for Exchange server <ServerName>.<DomainName>.LOCAL was not determined in routing tables with timestamp 6/24/2014 8:01:48 PM. Recipients will not be routed to this server."
I would like to know if by having this old 2003 Exchange server in AD, if it could be causing performance issues or if it is just a warning message only.  I have located the old server name using ADSIedit under, "CN=Configuration,DC=<DomainName>DC=Local\CN=Services\CN=Microsoft
Exchange\CN=First Organization\CN=Administrative Groups\CN=First Administrative Group\CN=Servers".  The old 2003 Exchange server is then listed in the right window pane so it could be deleted but I would need to know if this would effect the Exchange
environment other than removing the error from the event logs.
    Thank you for your help,
    Michael

    Hi,
When you install Exchange 2010 in an existing Exchange 2003 environment, a routing group connector is created automatically. If you remove Exchange 2003 from you environment, you should also delete this routing group connector.
Besides, here is a related article about Event ID 5013 which may help you for your reference.

  • Is Exchange 2003 Uninstalled?

I recently did a migration from Exchange 2003 to 2010.  Everything seems to be working.  After having the 2003 server shut down for a week or two with no issues, I decided to uninstall it.
After a few issues with remaining mailboxes etc, the uninstall process via Add/Removed ran.  I had one error during the uninstall but unfortunately I didn't write it down.  I believe it said something the effect of an error with messaging or something.
After click past that, the uninstall proceeded.  If I now go into Add/Remove, the option for MS Exchange is no longer there however some of the services are still on the server, specifically the System Attendant and Exchange Management and they were running.
I have stopped and disable all Exchange services.
So my question is - how can I be sure it has uninstalled correctly and what are the ramifications if it didn't?  Everything seems to be working but I just have this feeling that something is still left out there and things weren't completely cleaned
    up.
    Thank you for your help.

Agree with ExchangeITPro to see if ExBPA gives any error.
If Exchange 2003 Server object is removed from AD (Under configuration partition) then I wouldn't worry about it.
Open ADSI Edit, expand Configuration, expand CN=Configuration,CN=<domain>, expand CN=Services, expand CN=Microsoft Exchange, expand CN=<Exchange organization name>, CN=Administrative Groups, cn = CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),
CN=Servers, If Exchange 2003 server is not listed here then Uninstaller should have uninstalled it properly...
