Any other solutions regarding the sudden Quartz extreme message for iMovie?
iMovie suddenly won't open (Quartz extreme required) and no solutions mentioned here seem to help. I've tried changing the resolutions temporarily, restarting, permissions repair, deleting the com.apple/imovie.plist from library preferences, software update, deleting iMovie then redownloading (from an external HD), and it's still not opening even though I've made movies in the past. I did download the iDisplay app to use an ipad as a second monitor, which I thought may have caused the problem. So, I deleted iDisplay from my HD and emptied the trash. Still no iMovie. I'm outside of warranty and don't want to pay money to have Apple Canada fix their own issues - so please help. Thanks.
I have the same problem on my brand new MacBook running 10.5.4... One suggestion was to change the colors from millions and then back but I don't even have that option in my display panels. In another thread I found something that worksL
If I simply log off and back on, then everything is fine again (no need to restart). It will show it as supported in the system info. At first I used to restart, but for the sake of trying it out once, I decided to just log off and on. It had the same effect as restarting, so that's what I do now.
ANd in yet another answer I found something that worked for me: change the display resolution and then change it back.
Obviously some display setting is getting corrupted in some fashion and in my case I'm using with and without an external monitor, so perhaps it loses some needed preference...

You can lock the related network.proxy prefs if you do not want users to change the connection settings.

This is almost always a symptom of a phone that was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it.

Exclamation mark appears instead of photo. Recently upgraded from i mac to Macbook air and all was transferred over. I have run all the repair and rebuild functions in iphoto. Any other solution?
Since iPLM failed to help try the following:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

When typing my password for opening my mac everything is normal until I type in any other field, then the keyboard sounds like an old typewriter and is exceedingly slow. Is there a software solution?

DVD drives read the bottom of the disk, not the top. Smooth out the paper & try again.

I downloaded LR CC on myMacbookpro and iMac.
LR5 was installed on both of them previously.
After installing, LR CC works fine onM Pro, but keeps crashing on iMac.
I've tried the "sign out, sign in" solution, but never works for me.
Is there any other solution I can try?
Since the update, I've edited photos on my 13' M pro instead of 27' iMac and it is getting annoying...Did you update to LR 6.0.1 / LR CC 2015.0.1 ?

iPad (Retina Display) (iOS 7.0.4) won't sync new music from iTunes (Windows). Only solution found was to uncheck "Sync Music" under Music tab, apply, then recheck "Sync Music" and apply. This is timely and aggravating. Any other solution?
I have also tried a hard reset. I have also gone into settings and checked "display all music".
Anyone know if the new update will have solutions to this problem?Successful experience with Apple Care.
If anyone is having the same problem, there's a chance it's an issue with the Mobile Device Manager for iTunes. The key is to ditch the old/corrupt file and replace it via clean iTunes installation.
Here's the fix that worked for me:
1. Trash iTunes (uninstall); don't forget to trash it from your dock if you have it there.
2. Head to /System/Library/Extensions/ and trash file AppleMobileDevice.kext
3. Head to /Library/Receipts/ and trash AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg ( * this may or may not be there * )
4. Restart computer (& empty trash)
5. Download fresh & clean iTunes and reinstall.
Voila! The content is now properly recognized by iTunes, the capacity bar registers the correct amount and type beyond "Other", and now I can put music back on the iPad. -
My Ipod shuffle appears in itunes on mac but not on windows 7 even though we have the latest update of itunes. We have also tried the other solutions on the apple support site.

Can you charge a macbook by any other means than the power cord? For example the usb drive? My cord works fine but the outlet on the laptop is not.

I want to buy a wireless Bluetooth headset for my iPad that will allow me to listen to a video while blocking out any other sound in the room. I am running Adobe Illustrator CS6 on my Mac, I just upgraded to Yosemite OS and when I have Illustrator hidden and then minimize any other application to the dock - Illustrator pops back up. The same happens when I restore/maximize any other application that is minimized in the dock - Illustrator pops back up. However, if I have Illustrator minimized to the dock (not hidden) it doesn't do it. Illustrator is the only app that does this - Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc... are all fine. It's not life threatening, just annoying. Anyone have any ideas on this?
Odd... and you have only 1 instance of the apps (in other words you don't have Office 2008 anywhere on the system)?
