Any PCIe USB cards that work with Yosemite?

I have a late 2012 MacPro currently running OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).  I search for a PCIe card with a minimum of 4 USB ports what will work with this system (most I've found online so far indicate "incompatible with Yosemite").  Anyone aware of a card out there that does work?  I am not connecting hard drives to the card so speed is not an issue (the card could be USB 2 or 3).
Thanks,
Carl

I've been using one of these
<http://www.sonnettech.com/product/allegro_express_usb.html>
for years in my 2008 Mac Pro.  USB 2.0
Works fine with Yosemite.
(Don't worry about the big power connector on the card.  It's not used for a Mac.)

  • Printers that work with Yosemite?

I just bought my iMac this week and can't get my Lexmark printer to work, I can send a document to it, but then it crashes with a "divide by zero" error????
It worked fine with my previous Macintosh running  OS X 10.5.8
Lexmark has been of little help, as they will only say that the driver is for Mac OS X 10.6 and higher.
I've tried to research the printers which are supposed to work with Yosemite, but I am now thoroughly confused.
I must recover the ability to print, and I'm looking for an inkjet printer capable of working with my iMac, OS X 10.10.3 -- are there ANY AirPrint or USB printers that work with Yosemite?
    Bill

Thanks for the replies, but I'm afraid that the Apple Support List (via the link several folks have provided me) appears to be not up-to-date.
For example, the following printers are listed (HP), but upon checking the HP website, drivers are not available for Max Os X 10.10:
    HP Deskjet 1010 series
    HP Deskjet 1512 series
    HP Deskjet 2540 series
The HP download center correctly detects my operating system, but indicates that it cannot provide a list of available drivers/software updates.
Most of the above printers indicate compatibility with Mac OS 10.9, but not for Yosemite.
The printers that I listed above are in my desired price range.  Does anyone have any of these Deskjet products that work with Yosemite?

  • G5 Dual Core 10.4 - Finally a PCIe eSATA card that works!

    Happy Holidays!
I recently posted a few queries/complaints about FirmTek's PCIe cards used in an older Dual Core 2.0. Unfortunately my personal experience has not been a good one. Poor communication and initial refusal of RMA; the list is lengthy. After months of tedious thorough testing, I can only conclude the drivers on their web site, are incompatible with 10.4.11. But thanx to OWC, and DAT Optic, I finally found a PCIe eSATA card that works. In fact I'm using a DAT Optic 2 port card and 4 port card in total harmony with each other.
In my opinion, the SeriTek 2ME4-E-4 design emphasis was probably geared more toward use in a Mac Pro with 10.5 and above. After two system formats, and the failure of two different FirmTek PCIe cards, that was enough for me.
Final success came with; http://eshop.macsales.com/item/DAT+Optic/ESATAPCIE21B/ (and) http://eshop.macsales.com/item/DAT%20Optic/ESATAPCIE8/
One BIG advantage with DAT Optic are the numerous readily available drivers directly from the Silicon Image web site. And their tech support is first class.
All of this is good news for users of older Power Mac G5's.
    Enjoy!

    Hi Chris
Whatever the situation was with 10.4.10, or 10.4.11, I had to conclude that FirmTek's drivers were not doing the job for 10.4.11 - The condescending technician was basically ignoring my remark that this card just doesn't work with my set up. Neither could their 2 port card work.
I had to argue my point repeatedly, (shouldn't have to do that).
In any event, I'm rolling pretty good with these 2 bay OWC clearance eSATA enclosures, (got 4 of them). No bridge, just good ole eSATA connections. Sure took long enough to get to this place.
    Happy Holidays

  • Need a wireless usb adapter that works with my iMac G4 Flatscreen

I have an iMac without an airport card. I am trying to find a thrid party solution. Does anyone know of a third party wireless usb adapter that works with my Mac?
    Linda

Hi Bill I noticed that list you posted mainly shows devices that require purchasing 3rd party drivers from companies such as ioxperts.
If you use a device that has ralink chipset you can use their drivers free of charge.

  • HT4990 is there a version of cards that works with ios5.1.1

is there a version of cards that works with ios 5.1.1

    http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/
I'm pretty certain that I got my version of stuffit, which has worked excellently on my Intel MBP, from that site. I downloaded it around the time when I first got the laptop, so I'm pretty sure that's the site.
If it's not let me know and I can give you links to a different site, or I can just e-mail you the installer file directly.
If it doesn't work for any other reason, or does the encrypted thing that you stated, let me know I'll look into it.

  • HELP....need a good sound card that works with Windows 7 64 bit

I've searched the internet and I'm seeing that folks are struggling with getting sound cards to work with Windows 7 (particularly the 64 bit systems). I know there are stability issues with the 64 bit system but I'm looking to install a decent sound card to improve stereo sound from my HP Pavilion (h8-1260t). The onboard sound is OK, but I'm looking for higher fidelity and the shortcomings of the stock sound chip is noticeable when played through my hi fi system.  Don't really need 'surround sound' (I'm not a gamer) but I'm assuming any card that comes with this feature will also produce a quality stereo signal.  I also like to archive music from steaming sources and have found a significant loss of sound quality once the track is saved.  I'm assuming a good sound card will help with this.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Spauld, welcome to the forum.
I suggest finding a sound card that you like and contacting the manufacturer's Customer Service to assure its compatibility with Win7 64-bit.  They are the experts on their products.  While I am not a fan of dedicated sound cards because their drivers are conflict prone, I would buy a Creative Soundblaster.  They have been proven over time.

  • An SCSI card that works with tiger?

I have aquired a Sony SDX S500C AIT-2 drive that I wish to use with my quicksilver G4 server. I need an Ultra wide SCSI card that will work with tiger. I thought this wouldn't be a problem, but after picking up the drive for cheap on eBay it now looks really hard to find anything that works with tiger for less than $400. Does anyone have any experience of an SCSI setup that actually works? The Initio Miles 9100UW looks promising, but according to the Dantz site it is not supported by retrospect, but I assume this doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't work...
Looking forward to hearing your experiences.

Cards from ATTO work with OS X, and are highly reliable.

  • Graphics cards that work with a 945p neo3

    Hello All,
I'm wanting to upgrade my graphics card (radeonx1600 pro) and wanted to know what kind of modern video cards will work with my board. I have a 500w PSU and was looking at some Radeon 5770, 4870, Nvida 9800, 250.
    Thanks!

More info on that PSU please. 500W doesn't mean much, it's the +12V amps that you need to be concerned with. Brand, model and +12V amps for that PSU? As for any of the other cards listed you would need at the very least a quality single +12V rail PSU such as Corsair VX450W +12V~33A. Preferably a VX550 +12V~41A.
One thing I can say for sure is avoid a 5770 of any brand, there has been too many compatibility problems on many different MB's with that model.
What it comes down to is you can use most any VGA in your budget as long as the PSU is up to the task.

  • Need USB Wi-fi Card that works with G4 PowerBook on 10.4.8 & 10.5

    I have a 12" Powerbook G4, 1.5 Ghz model.
The airport in the machine seems to dislike the Cisco wireless access points on my college campus.
All of the access points show up both in the Airport icon, and in iStumbler, however, i can never connect to them.
A fix for this would be most helpful, but I'll also settle for someone that can tell me of a USB Wi-fi card (preferably 802.11G, but i'll settle for B) that will work with my system.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Asides from the end result of not being able to connect, what happens? When you try to connect, are there any system messages?
If you google 'usb wireless adapter mac' you'll find a number of useful references, should you want to go down that path.
As an aside, OS X Leopard, or 10.5, won't be released until later in the year, so users here can't tell you what works, or doesn't work, with it.

  • G4 867 DP (MDD) & G4 350 (AGP): PCI USB Card that Supports Deep Sleep?

I am working on upgrading a couple of G4s and wanted to see if I could install a PCI USB 2 expansion card with multiple external ports in both (4 if possible). I'd like to use the same card in both G4s if possible. Both will be running 10.4.11 & 9.2.2. I'd like the card to support Classic if at all possible.
I looked on OWC and first found the Sonnet Allegro; however, its product page notes it does support Deep Sleep so that is out:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Sonnet%20Technology/USB2/
Then I found the IOGEAR Hi-Speed USB 2.0 PCI Card and thought I was good to go as OWC does not list any Sleep issues; however, after checking elsewhere (Amazon and other sites) this card has similar G4 Sleep issues.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/IOGear/GIC251U/
So where, oh where have all the suitable cards gone?

I’ve did some searching on Google/Google Shopping, Buy.com, Amazon, eBay, & OWC and I present my results as it may help others save time. The most plentiful cards still available appear to be the Belkin, the two IOGear units, and the BAFO.
Looks like I’ll try the IOGear GIC250U first.
    Adaptec 3100LP:
PDF manual says support only to 10.1.1 and it says that the driver will disable the deep sleep option on your Mac, requiring you to uninstall the driver file if you want sleep back.
    BAFO BF-460:
Manufacturer says Windows only. A buy.com listing says Windows & Mac support but no other details. A Amazon listing says it supports “wake-up” function, but does not say what platform.
    Belkin F5U220:
Manufacturer says 10.2.7 or above for “F5U220V1”. Some sellers list cards as F5U220BHP or simply F5U220 so make sure it has “V1” on the end. One Amazon feedback said it has sleep issues with G5 while another said it worked good with a G4. Negative Mac feedback on http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/firewire/fwusb_card_deepsleep.html
    GWC UC-160:
Can’t find much information and could not find it for sale.
    IOGear GIC250U:
Manufacturer says it will work at 1.1 speeds with 8.6+ and 2.0 speeds with X. Feedback at http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/firewire/fwusb_card_deepsleep.html said it did not work with G4 400 running 10.2.6 with drivers; did work with G4/350 AGP machine & Dual G4/533 Digital Audio.
    IOGear GIC251U:
Manufacturer says it will work with Mac X 10.3.9 to 10.5. LOL, diagram manufacturer has shows external hard drive connections as one example of devices you can connect (a big no, no according to advice here). Amazon feedback said has sleep issues with 10.4.2 on G4; with a G4 QuickSilver 2002 it only worked in the PCI slot next to graphics card; it worked great in a G4 Digital Audio; G4 Quicksilver running 10.4.8 works great; works great in unknown Mac running 10.3.8; never worked on a 1Ghz Mirrored Door PowerPc with any version of X from 10.3 to 10.4.9; froze computer and fried nearby pci card in a QuickSilver G4; a dual 450 G4 has sleep issues.
    Keyspan U2PCI-5:
Can’t find much information and could not find it for sale.
    O'toLink U2-C2A, U2-C2B, U2-P20N & U2-P50:
Can’t find much information and could not find it for sale.
    Ratoc PCIU5:
Manufacturer says Windows only & discontinued.
    Syba SD-LP-NEC4U:
    Manufacturer site says Windows only.
    USBWholesale UII-PCIP:
Seems to be listed under company named BusLink instead. A single Amazon listing says Windows only.

  • PCIe Serial Card Stopped Working in Yosemite

I have a PCIe serial card in a Mac Pro based on the 16950 that's been working fine up until Yosemite. It's been working with the built-in Apple16x50Serial.kext driver.
With Yosemite, it looks like the driver loads okay, but no serial port appears under /dev/, and no IOBSDSerialClient for the card appears in ioreg either.
This is the same device used in the older XServe's with serial ports.
    Info on my card:
Card: pci1415,9501 Type: Serial Controller Driver Installed: Yes Slot: Slot-3
    pci1415,9501:

    Subsystem ID: 0x9501
    Revision ID: 0x0000

Has anyone else encountered this issue or know of a workaround?
    Thanks

Same here, although I can't even enter the shortcuts screen on my iPhone, as the Settings app crashes when I try to view the shortcuts. They are still on and work on the phone, but I can't access them to edit, etc. On the Mac, they neither show up nor work.

  • Setting up PCI-DNET card to work with Eurotherm 2404 Controller w/Device Net

I have installed the NI PCI-DNET card in my PC running W2000 and the NI Measurement and Automation Explorer.  I have also wired from the PC Card to a Eurotherm 2404 Controller with a Device Net Module and have terminated the connection with a 120 Ohm termination resistor.  The baud rate and address have been configured on both ends to match, however although I am getting a good connection to the board I am not able to pick up the device when I run the "Simple Who" funtion.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

    Hi,
When you say “…address have been configured on both ends to match”, do
you mean that you set the ‘Interface MAC ID’ of the dialog that comes
up when you start Simple Who to the one that is used by the Eurotherm
    2404 Controller?
Simple Who is a master/scanner in a DeviceNet network, thus the
‘Interface MAC ID’ you configure is the one of the master, which must
not be identical to the one of any slave devices in the network. So,
try setting the ‘Interface MAC ID’ to a value other than the one used
    by the Eurotherm 2404 Controller.
