Any plans for BT Broadband in Medmenham served by ...

I'm trying to get the latest info on BT's plans for broadband in the Medmenham area served by the exchange in Henley. We are too far from the exchange (9kms) so no broadband possible at present. Then I read this :
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/4123-openreach-announce-63-exchanges-for-fibre-upgrades.html
Does anyone know where I can find out more details if this means I'll get BB once this goes live? Also any where I can find out what is planned for Henley.
Many thx

Hi Alanh
Its hard to say one way or another at the moment I am afraid as we cant really judge before it becomes available to you.  There are a couple of reasons why you may not be able to get it:
Your phone line may be connected directly to the telephone exchange and not to a local street cabinet
Your line may be too far from the local street cabinet to have a stable BT Infinity service
Your local street cabinet may not be suitable for Fibre
BT may still be working with the local Council to get planning permission to enable your cabinet
Once again these are only possiblities at the moment and I can say for sure but there is still every chance you could get it too.  Best bet is to keep an eye on our availability checker www.bt.com/infinity
Hope this helps
Cheers

  • Any plan for "BIA process types" for Process Chains?

    Hi,
This morning one of our blades (with Versoin 49) become unresponsive due to memory leak; RFC server on the blade was not releasing the memory. As you know by now, when it happens we restart the server on that blade and things start working until the next time.
As a preventative measure, we would like to create a program and put in a process chain to restart the RFC and Index servers for all the blades everynight. Do you have any program already to do so? We identfied the api's already but wanted to see if somebody already doing this.
Or even better, is there any plan for creating new "BIA process types" for the process chains that we can drag/drop instead of writing programs?
    Cheers

It has been quite a while since Apple came up with Map App of their own and should be releasing improved maps with more capabilities in India.

  • Any plan for Pro*C to tolerate spaces in paths?

As of the most recent Pro*C downloaded for use with the Instant Client (11.2.something), it still can't tolerate spaces in any of its inputs.
Since Visual Studio installs by default into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio X\..., there's an immediate problem with specifying "include=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio X\VC\Include", whether on the command line or in pcscfg.cfg. Pro*C finds none of the .h files, and the whole process ends.
This is really complicating our build process, as there's just no good way to construct a generic build script (free of environment variables or a list of possibly conflicting include directories to cover all the bases).
Does anyone know whether there's any plan for Pro*C to function as an application in the year 2012, rather than 1995, by coping with spaces in these paths?

I can't speak to the Pro*C side of things, but you can find the short name for those paths using "dir /x".
    C:\>dir /x progr*
Volume in drive C has no label.
    Volume Serial Number is B8EF-DC7A
    Directory of C:\
    01/25/2012  08:37 AM    <DIR>          PROGRA~1     Program Files
                   0 File(s)              0 bytes
                   1 Dir(s)  62,385,332,224 bytes free
    C:\>dir /x "program files\microsoft visual*"
Volume in drive C has no label.
    Volume Serial Number is B8EF-DC7A
    Directory of C:\program files
    09/02/2009  07:13 PM    <DIR>          MICROS~3     Microsoft Visual Studio
    05/28/2010  08:07 AM    <DIR>          MID05A~1     Microsoft Visual Studio 8
                   0 File(s)              0 bytes
                   2 Dir(s)  62,385,324,032 bytes free
C:\>Using the short names in your path will look something like "include=C:\PROGRA~1\MID05A~1\VC\Include" and meets the "no spaces" requirement.

  • Any plans for making classic to lighting charger

are there any plans for changing the ipod classic to the new lighting pin charger

I have tried to figure out how to install the plugin as soon as Chrome was released. Here is what I have found.

Download the Kernel Installation JRE File. That is the only one I can get to work for Chrome, and I do not fully understand why.

I agree, but there should not be any disagreement for a standard that has been defined, and I think the OP doesn't understand the standard. So I was just trying to help.

  • Does Apple have any plans for a similar app as Samsung S Drive?

Does Apple have any plans for a similar app as Samsung S Drive?
Samsung recently released 'S-Drive' - an app for their Samsung Galaxy program which only allows certain features to be used when driving. I much prefer my Apple iPhone, but as my children grow up, this is much safer. Thoughts?

Ah, sorry fellas, and thanks for clarifying that for me.  I thought Apple would also have tech's who monitor / respond in these forums.  My bad.  Cheers though... and let's see what they (might) do.
Is there any way to encourage them / let them know of apps such as this and that it might be a good thing?

  • Does Apple have any plans for iOS7S for iPods?

Now that all the current iPod touch owners are left hanging by iOS 7's memory requirement, does Jonathon Ivey have any plans to remove the iPhone code and release a smaller iOS 7S update for those millions who paid good money for a product that was made obsolete last month?

Apple has not made any announcement. Based on past history, I expect there to be no more update for the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

  • Any plan for 4k resolution

Any plans on 4K being streamed to match Netflix.

You never know but I doubt it in the near future.
One thing iTunes is lacking is an upgrade path - I bought a handful of movies in SD on the original AppleTV before HD downloads became available - an upgrade pricing to get 1080p or 4k versions would be fantastic and would appeal to those of us who buy from iTunes.  Many of us have titles on VHS, DVD, BlurRay, upgrading at each turn and of course the studios want their pound of flesh, but upgrade options would be very appealing (same for audio if they ever offer CD quality or hopefully better quality audio).

  • Any plan for Windows 7 64-bit Video Driver for T60?

I have Win 7 x64 installed, and I'm using the Vista video driver (which I believe is 32-bit).  I'd prefer to have a fully supported 64-bit Windows 7-qualified driver.  Is there any plan to provide one in the near future?  Thanks!
