Any plugin to make Filebrowser's "Rank" feature function in Bridge??

CS1 Photoshop had that great feature to custom title the "Rank" for each thumb. Is there anyway to get that feature back in the new Bridge?
DAM Rank & File doesn't do this btw, I contacted them to find that out....

Together with 5 different star ratings and no star and no label you have a lot of options, but why bother about renaming labels?
Labels and stars are just for rating in my opinion and if you want your own sorting method you only have to add a keyword to one or multiple files. Not only shows this keyword itself in the filter panel and in here you can use one click to select the desired files but also you have the ability to change the thumbnail line in the Bridge preferences to show keywords, now you have tons of different options... :-)

How do I make Firefox never use any plugins without my direct approval?

Greetings.
I have a problem with the way Firefox handles plugins.
First, plugins automagically appear in the list as enabled. This is terrible, because I do not want ANYTHING to appear in my browser without my consent. I don't care, I just do not.
Second, even if I disable them, they get automagically enabled back. And that's not trojan or virus, that's Google Update and Ubisoft Uplay - perfectly legal plugins from big companies behaving like that. Why is this ever allowed? If I disabled something, I want it to stay that way. Period.
Third, Firefox does not allow me to delete them! I have to delete them manually.
Is there any way to fix this? Is there a way to make Firefox NEVER discover and add to its list any plugin without my approval? Is there a way to make plugin FORVER stay disabled after I clicked "disable" on it?

How come I don't have any plugins for Logic Pro X?

Hi! So, I recently bought and installed Logic Pro X, and I was excited to use the different plugins it had to offer,. But to my surprise, it seems there arent any plugins besides the ones displayed. When I click in the "plugin area" to open it up, all I see is this. Ive been trying to figure out what I did wrong in the installation process. I'm pretty new to the Apple scene, so I'd really appreciate the help .. Thank you! Heres what comes up when I click in the "plugin area". For example, I don't have the EXS24 or any other plugins of that nature. I have no idea what to do.

1) Make sure you have downloaded all the additional content.... via the menu option Logic Pro X/Download Additional Content
2) Make sure you turn on all the advanced features of LPX by going to the Advanced tab of LPX's preferences.... so LPX isn't running in the "Garageband Pro" mode....

I sugggest you try my application, Dates to iCal. It is shareware with a 2 week trial period.
Dates to iCal 2 is a replacement for Apple's birthday calendar for iCal. It has a range of features to allow the user to choose what, and what not, to sync to iCal from Address Book.
As well as automatically syncing birthday dates from Address Book, Dates to iCal 2 can sync anniversary and custom dates. It can set up to five alarms for each date in iCal and can also set different alarms for birthdays and anniversaries. It allows the option of only syncing from one Address Book group. This application also allows for the titles of the events sent to iCal to be modified to the user's preference.

Is there any way to make Mail open the next message on the inbox automatically after deleting, forwarding o saving a message?
I mean, is there any way to, after reading a message, going to the next or previous message without double clicking the main inbox window?
I used (on windows) to read mail on outlook, or even on entourage for mac, and after I read a message, even if I deleted it, forward it, replied it, or even saving it on a folder, automatically the program (outlook, entourage, hotmail, etc) opened the next message on the inbox, but I am not able to find any way to make Mail do that.
Is there a way to it? Or should I provide suggestions to Apple?
By the way, no meant to prefer microsoft for this, I just think this is a cool feature for reading several messages one after another without going back to the main inbox page and double clicking the message to read...

Down-arrow, Return. Return opens the selected message. I read through hundreds of messages without ever touching the mouse. Once you get used to the keystrokes, Mail is extremely efficient.

I would like to uninstall or otherwise safely remove any applications that make my MB Pro run slowly. I will have to keep a few apps such as CrossWeb and Veraport due to having to use secure banking and government websites in Korea. I also need the LogMeIn app to access a server in the USA, but I realise that some people recommend getting rid of it.
I tried but apparently have been unsuccessful in removing a McAfee VirusScan application completely. I can still see some files in the HD Library. Any ideas here on how to safely uninstall/remove?
Also any suggestions on how to get rid of my incompatible virtualbox? I think it's 4.0.4.
Also, if you see anything else I should uninstall/remove from the EtreCheck below, by all means please make suggestions.

I've tried putting libflashplayer in just about every directory and still FF won't see any plugins?

FF runs ok but does not find any plugins on a 64 bit Linux system. I put the libflashplayer.so in /lib64 as well as /usr/lib64 and /usr/firefox and /usr/firefox/components. FF version is 6.0.2.

If you have a 32 bit Firefox version then you need to place the plugins or symlink in a location for 32 plugins. 
Also make sure that you have 32 versions of all plugins.

There are two different versions of Flash, one for IE (ActiveX version) and another for other browsers (Plugin version).
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:

Save it to your Desktop. 
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit 
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed,

3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

Any way to make DM select the closing tag when clicking the opening tag?

Visual Studio allows you to for example select an opening
 tag... and then bolds the closing . Same with
<div> and so on. I realize DM has a breadcrumb view near the
properties window but that's comparatively weak. Any way to make

Color grading inside FCP using Lab color space? Any plugins?

Is it possible to color grade footage with Lab color space? I don't think Apple Color supports Lab so I'm hoping there's some other way. Are there any plugins that allow you to do that? If there are no plugins, are there any color grading apps you'd recommend that support Lab?

Why use LAB if it doesn't end up in LAB colour space?
I get the comment by a lot of people who don't understand what LAB is
It is kind of like saying how can a print designer do work on a computer monitor when the printed material ends up on paper as cmyk.
Basically you use LAB because you can do things in LAB that you can't do when Editing in CMYK or RGB. (Note Editing - you convert to RGB or CMYK after.)
The main advantage of it as a Tool is that is treats Tone / Luminance (L) independent to colour.
You can ramp up curves without blowing out the image or shifting the colour.
or vice versa you can change the colour without changing the tone.
You can't do this with CMYK or RGB because the tone of the image, the luminance, is embedded into the colour channels.
And you can REALLY ramp things up and still get great looking images.
That makes LAB a great grading tool - for a look that would be unavailable if Editing in CMYK or RGB.
We have print graders using LAB for work that ends up printed as CMYK,
I use LAB for online work that ends up as RGB - in a professional advertising agency.
By device independent I mean that it is at a level higher than CMYK or RGB.
It is not relying on the output device - a monitor, tv screen or printer - to define how the colour is created.
You can do you work in LAB then export it out to CMYK & RGB with very little loss as LAB encompasses both colour spaces and far far more.
That is what makes LAB a powerful colour space.

COM is from Component Object Model and the structured storage(SS) is based on it. Shortly SS is a file system within a file with two kind of objects: storage=>directory and stream=>file and COM defines how to treat that objects in a single file system. Some of the features are: simultaneous access to objects (or part of) from multiple applications, direct or transacted access and so on. In direct access the changes are made immediately, in transacted they are buffered and committed or reverted. There are some functions in OLE32.dll but the question is how to implement the full functionality of SS and call it from LV, may be in another dll...
