Any point in using PI in an ALE scenario?

Would there be any advantage to routing ALE IDocs between two systems via PI? I am of the opinion that in this case PI is totally uneccessary, but would like some opinions on the matter.
BR,
Tony.

Hi,
I would agree that there are not so much reasons for using PI in this case.
Here is a blog about this topic:
XI or ALE....Which one is better ?

  • Any point to up-to-date if I own multiple Macs?

    I bought a new MacBook Pro which qualifies for a free upgrade to Mountain Lion. Will I still have to buy Mountain Lion to install on my other Mac and if so is there any point to using the up-to-date offer?

    The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
    You should be able to install it on all Macs that you own or control. After you have downloaded the Lion installer you have a number of options. If you search the internet you will find instructions that help you create a portable Lion installation drive using a USB thumb drive. Or you can just copy the installer across your LAN to any other Macs that are capable of running Lion. Finally, you could sign into the Mac App Store on the other Macs and download the LIon installer from the Purchases pane.
    The thing to keep in mind is that if you want to copy the installer, do so before using it to install Lion. The installer will delete itself after it complete the installation of Lion and you would need to download it again to install it on another Mac.

  • How to make rolling plan at any point of time for 12 months using SOP/LTP?

    Hi Gurus,
    I am configuring an MTS scenario where the client desires that at any point of time, when he does planning, system should do a rolling plan. For example, let us say that we first do the planning in Jan for Jan to Dec. When he does the planning again in Feb, it should become a plan for Feb to Jan and so on. Is this possible in SOP/LTP? Please advise. Thanks.
    Regards,
    SB

    Yes. This is normal for SOP, but what are looking to achieve using LTP? Is this rolling plan operative, or simulative?

  • Balance Sheet translation at spot rate at ANY point in time

    My client produces its financial accounts in AUD.  They will have open items in AR, AP and Bank in foreign currencies.  WITHOUT running periodic valuation they wish to produce a Balance Sheet at any point in time during the month applying the applicable daily spot rate to valuate the Foreign Currency open items (for reporting purposes only).  I have run S_ALR_87012284 and maintained the special evaluations tab for Display Currency (AUD), Key date for translation (current date) and exchange rate type (spot rate type).  However, this does not appear to be revaluating the open items in the subledger accounts to produce the balance sheet at the current spot rate.  Appreciate input / alternate approach.  Cheers, Dean.

    Hi Chirag
    As per Oracle following are the rules that has to be followed for translation.
    1. For Balance Sheet Accounts (Asset & Liabilities) GL as a default uses the YTD rule.
    2. For P&L Accounts you can choose between YTD and PTD rule. So in your case you can use the default PTD Rule. (Profile Option 'GL Translation: Revenue/Expense Translation Rule')
    YTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period-End Rate x YTD Ledger Currency Balance - Beginning Translated Balance).
    PTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period Average Rate x PTD Ledger Currency Balance)
    Hope this helps.

  • Trim, SSD, and Encryption--Any point to urandom first?

    If I am setting up an encrypted system, on a SSD, with Trim enabled, is there any point to writing random data to the drive first (with urandom) as one would normally do?
    My understanding is that Trim will write zeroes to unused portions of the drive anyway, to keep track of what space is available for optimizing writes to the drive (for wear leveling, etc.). So if in the long run, what the drive will look like is random information, where data is present, and zeros where there is no data. Then why not just zero out the drive to begin with, rather than using urandom?
    In fact, would zeroing the drive to start help Trim from the beginning do what it's supposed to do?
    Thanks for any thoughts.

    Yes, the point of overwriting the entire disk with random data, before setting up an encrypted system, is so that it is not possible to see where there is data and where there is just empty space on an encrypted drive. This is recommended by every encryption setup guide I have ever seen, including the Arch Wiki.
    I'm not sure where I created the impression that I was asking a question about identifying bad blocks. I didn't mention them in my post and I don't know what it has to do with setting up an encrypted system (on an SSD with the Trim feature), which is the topic of my question.
    The issue is, although it is normal to first overwrite the entire disk with random data, for an encrypted system, if you enable the Trim feature on an SSD it will write zeros to free space (as files are deleted, I believe). This helps the SSD do wear leveling and (I think) operate faster, issues exclusive to SSDs as opposed to regular magnetic hard drives. So once you enable the Trim feature, you will, at least (I think) in the long run, defeat the benefit of having written random data to the entire drive when the system was set up.
    A lengthy explanation can be found here, for anyone interested: www.asalor.blogspot.com/2011/08/trim-dm-crypt-problems.html
    My question is, will writing random data not only defeat the security/encryption benefits, but also make it hard for the SSD to operate the Trim function effectively? Will the SSD see all the random data as used space and not perform effective wear leveling? In which case, is it better to just zero out the drive first and then create the encrypted system, so that the SSD can use Trim properly?
    Thanks to anyone who knows about how Trim with SSDs works and how random data could effect it.

  • Is there any point in having an ORDER BY clause within a FOR LOOPs counter?

    DB Version:10.2.0.1.0
    I need to loop through empno's using a FOR loop. But is there any point in having an Order by clause within SQL as shown below. This only degrades the performance because of the unnecessary sorting by the ORDER BY clause. Right?
    begin
    FOR i IN (select empno from emp ORDER BY sal ASC) LOOP
        curr_stat_id := i.empno +p_gennum;
    .

    First question you should ask to your self is
    "Do i need a FOR LOOP. Cant i do it in a straight SQL"
    If the answer is NO (Which is not in several cases) then the next question is.
    "What is my requirement"
    Having an order by in the Select is totally pertained to your requirement. If your requirement
    says you should loop through the employee based on there salary for lowest to highest then yes you
    need an order by.
    So more than performance point of view its requirement point of you. But if you are more concern about
    performance you will first ask to your self
    "Do i need a FOR LOOP. Cant i do it in a straight SQL"
    Thanks,

  • ALEAUD to sending system in ALE scenario using XI

    Hi,
    I have a quite simple ALE scenario with following components;
    SAP IS/OIL -> (CREMAS) -> XI -> (CREMAS) -> SAP Retail
    I have read both how-to-guides; IDOC-XI scenarios and handle ack. for IDOCs.
    By activating the runtime paramter ACK_SYSTEM_FAILURE, XI will send ALEAUD in case of error on XI - this works in a way.
    By using program RBDSTATE on SAP Retail - this works in a way.
    <b>Challenge 1:</b>
    In case of error on XI, the ALEAUD message sent back to IS/OIL doesn't contain neither message type or the referenced IDOC from IS/OIL;
    E1ADHDR-MESTYP
    E1ADHDR-MESTYP_LNG
    E1STATE-DOCNUM
    is missing.
    <i>Anyone with ideas?</i>
    <b>Challenge 2:</b>
    The ALEAUD from SAP Retail (using RBDSTATE) is not referring to the right IDOC from the sending system, seems to me that Retail is using it's own number range.
    <i>Anyone with ideas?</i>
    best regards
    Torstein

    Hi,
    Even I have the same problem.
    I have configured ALEAUD in Integration server. When there is an error ( sa incorect RFC Destination of Receiver), an ALEAUD message type iDoc is sent back to the sender SAP System. But i noticed that the iDoc has only data in the segment E1STATE ( with data status, statxtstamid). But the segments E1AHDHR and E1PRTOB are empty.
    The acknowledgement idoc doesnt contain any reference to the message( like the message ID) which has gone for an error. It just contains error text.
    Could you please let me know how you solved it
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vani

  • Is it possible to resume play from any point on the progress bar in FLV player

    Is there a way to allow a user to move playhead to any point on the progress bar (including much ahead of the loaded portion of the movie) and resume play from there?
    Presently a user can skip ahead only as far as the download happened.
    Just in case there is no conflict with my set up, here is the code I have:
    import fl.video.VideoProgressEvent;
    stop();
    close_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick_GoBackToHowTo2);
    function onClick_GoBackToHowTo2(event:MouseEvent) :void {
              gotoAndPlay("howto");
    SWF_flv2.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE,stopF2);
    function stopF2(e:Event):void{
    SWF_flv2.stop();
    SWF_flv2.closeVideoPlayer(1);  // actually, you can execute this after the stream completes, too so there's no need to check.
              play_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick_Play);
              function onClick_Play(event:MouseEvent) :void {
                        SWF_flv2.play();
    SWF_flv2.addEventListener(VideoProgressEvent.PROGRESS,progressF);
    function progressF(e:VideoProgressEvent):void{
    if(e.bytesLoaded == e.bytesTotal){
    trace(e.bytesLoaded,e.bytesTotal);
    SWF_flv2.play();
    SWF_flv2.activeVideoPlayerIndex=1;  //this assigns the player index
    SWF_flv2.visibleVideoPlayerIndex=1; //this assigns the player index
    SWF_flv2.source = sourceVar;  //source must come after assigning the index/s
    SWF_flv2.play(); //starts buffering the sourceVar
    SWF_flv2.stop(); //starts buffering the sourceVar

    Besides kglad's excellant response, there is also the option to use "http pseudostreaming".
    This will also give you the ability to "seek" to sections of a video file which are not yet downloaded. It is typically cheaper than using FMS or RED5, but still may require that you have a dedicated server account (which is much more expensive than a shared server account). But check with your Web host, some offer pretty good options for enabling http pseudostreaming:

  • Syntax to export 18 months of data at any given time using variables?

    I have written a calculation script for exporting data from an application using DATAEXPORT. I want to get 18 months of data in my exported text files at any point of time. So, I want to specify the range using variables for Period and Year but I am kind of stuck on how should I be writing it in my script.
    Please let me know the correct syntax using variables or if you could share some link that would help me know that would be a help.
    Can I use @XRANGE Function???
    Thanks !

    Srinivas --> Thanks for clarifying that. After I read your post I did go through the @XRANGE again and noticed that they had use cross dimensional operators so it put me in a confusion. But you cleared it by being more specific this time. Thanks a lot !
    If I follow what Robb suggested then like you mentioned when 3 years will be involved its going to be difficult I guess. Not sure at this point which way would be the best to get this work.
    I agree with CL - 18 months rolling forecast can be annoying seriously.
    Can one of you please suggest me a permanent and most efficient solution for this out of all the ideas that would not require manual work and can be automated completely?
    Thank you all for your inputs. I really appreciate it.

  • Any Examples of using ActiveCollectionModelDecorator with POJO data control

    Are there any Examples of using ActiveCollectionModelDecorator with POJO data control in any of the sample packs?

    OK, here's an quick example. Create a new Windows Forms application and add a ScatterGraph and a Label to the form. Add a cursor to the ScatterGraph, then add the code below to the form. This generates 50 random data points when the form is loaded and plots them, then uses the cursor's AfterMove event to display the current X and Y positions in the label. Here's the code:
    Private Sub OnFormLoad(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    Const dataLength As Integer = 50
    Dim xData(dataLength - 1) As Double
    Dim yData(dataLength - 1) As Double
    Dim rnd As Random = New Random
    For i As Integer = 0 To dataLength - 1
    xData(i) = i
    yData(i) = rnd.NextDouble() * 10
    Next
    ScatterGraph1.PlotXY(xData, yData)
    End Sub
    Private Sub OnAfterMoveXYCursor(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As NationalInstruments.UI.AfterMoveXYCursorEventArgs) Handles XyCursor1.AfterMove
    Label1.Text = String.Format("({0}, {1})", e.XPosition, e.YPosition)
    End Sub
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there any way to use flash without all the bloated code?

    I  want to put a flash player on my site, however with dreamweaver the  "insert movie" option puts a ton code in my markup to the point where i  cant even tell what im looking at. Is there any way to use flash without  all the bloat?

    Yes and no.  Some bloat as you call it is necessary to support all browsers.  That said, this on-line tool takes your Flash code and converts it to valid XHTML Strict standards.  In the process, the code is minimized a bit.  Be sure to test in an XHTML Strict doc type page.

  • Is there any point in a G4 render farm?

    Hi all.
    I've been getting quite intrested in the idea of setting up a very small render farm laterly as I have the option of getting some old G4s for free.
    I currently have a 2.0Ghz DP G5 as my main mac running FCP2 and Shake and was already grabbing a G4 466 digital audio to set up as a file/print and back up server running tiger server, a postscript RIP and retrospect. I have the possibility of getting atleast one more G4 466 DA and maybe a couple of G4 400 AGPs with Gigbit ethernet cards. As the main use would be farming out DV to mpg2 compression via compressor and shake renders (though not large shake stuff to begin with as very new to this) is there any point in looking into this or am I going to need to lots of G4s to make a real improvement in render times.
    Also is RAM a major consideration. For example if I got 4 G4s with say 512Mb ram would it be better runing all four or using three but nicking the fours ram to give more ram in the three machine set up?
    Any advice would be appreciated
    Cheers
    Steve

    I vote no. G4 isn't the problem so much as 400mhz is. The ram shouldn't be a problem.
    But you could test if you set up Compressor on one G4. Compress a job. Compress the same job with the same settings on the G5.
    If the G5 is 4 times (or even 3, since time is spent sending the render data over the network between the G4's slow system busses) as fast the single G4, a render farm will not help you.
    Using the G4 and G5 together in the same cluster does not work because Compressor looks at all processors and divides the job into twice as many segments. In this case, the G5 finishes it's two segments years before the G4's and then sits around waiting. You could try splitting the G5 into 4 instances, but then you have 8 slow processors attacking your job. Not very efficient.
    Good luck though. You should test the one G4 just so you know. Report back if you do.

  • Question about points and using gift card

    I have two recent transactions that are not receiving points.
    The first one on 10/24 for two iPads.  With this purchase I did use two gift cards as part of the payment but the two gift cards only covered part of the payment.  It is my understanding I do not receive points when using a gift card but wouldn't I still get credit for the remaining balance I paid that the gift card didn't cover?
    Simlar situation seems to be happening with a Xbox purchase on 11/7.
    Like I said I understand not getting points for what was used for the giftcard but thought I should get points for the remaining balance.
    Example if I used a $10 gift card to help pay for a $1,000 purchase, I don't get credit for the remaining $990 in reward points?
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Bulletpig,
    If the remaining portion of a purchase is considered eligible, then points should be awarded.  After using the email address you registered with the forum to review your account, I believe that I can explain why you did not receive points for the portions that were not paid for with a gift card.  It appears that you used your Best Buy credit card and applied those portions to promotional financing offers, which are not eligible for points.
    While those purchases should count towards reaching Elite and Elite Plus status, they would not qualify for points.  I would like to go over your account with you to ensure it is up-to-date and to see if there are any other questions I can help answer, so I will be sending you a private message.  To check your private messages, you will want to login to the forum and click on the little yellow envelope at the top of the page.

  • Any benefits to using Ext4 over Ext2 on SSD, or USB flash drive?

    Hi.
    I've been using Linux on, and off, again for about two years now, and I never really bothered using anything outside of the extn file systems.
    I had at one point only used ext2 only on usb installs, and usually on temporary installs of RIPLinux, Parted Magic, or Puppy Linux.
    But... now we have the option to disable journaling with tune2fs, or at the very least mounting the partition with options 'noatime', 'barrier=0', or 'nobh', should we use ext4 for any of these devices?
    Are there any ext4 improvements over ext2/3 that would actually apply to SSDs, or other flash devices?
    Right now I'm currently running Arch from an USB. It's being used to stream media to a video game console, download files in the 200 - 500 MB range, and act as my media viewer for movie files. ie - mpeg, mp4, mkv, and flv. My original idea was to have a future proof system setup that I could eventually clone over to my replacement hard-drive when it comes in the mail.
    Should I just make the switch back to ext2, or does ext4 have benefits over ext2 on these types of devices?
    While I'm considering a persistent journal disable, my only Arch partition is mounted as follows in the fstab.
    UUID=546043fd-170f-4ed4-8af0-136113627e8c / ext4 defaults,noatime,barrier=0 0 1
    tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults,noatime,mode=1777 0 0
    tmpfs /var/tmp tmpfs defaults,noatime,mode=1777 0 0
    tmpfs /var/lock tmpfs defaults,noatime,mode=1777 0 0
    tmpfs /var/run tmpfs defaults,noatime,mode=755 0 0
    tmpfs /var/cache/pacman/pkg tmpfs defaults,noatime 0 0
    tmpfs /var/abs/local/yaourtbuild tmpfs defaults,noatime 0 0

    midenok,
    Welcome to Arch Linux.   Take note that this is an old thread (but not overly so).  When reviving old threads, we generally encourage creating a new thread and linking to the old.  In this case, your answer is pertinent to the thread, and that thread had not reached a logical conclusion, so you are fine.  I just wanted to drop this note so others know that a moderator has seen it.
    Again, welcome.
