  • Are there any Canon all-in-one printers compatible with Yosemite v.10.10 and Windows 7?

My current Canon Pixma MX850 printer just died. I'm looking for an All-in-One, preferably Canon, printer that is compatible with Yosemite version 10.10 and Windows 7. I have spent this weekend researching with no matches.  They all cover v.10.9 but nothing higher. I'm desperate for a replacement for our business. I was just about to order the Canon Pixma MX922 when I caught the specs.
    I'm needing the following functions:
ADF with 2 sided ADF scanning/printing
    Ethernet
    Wi-Fi certificate
    Wireless
    Auto 2 sided printing
AirPrint and (google) iCloud print would be an add-on but not necessary.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The MX922 (known as the MX926 in Australia) is supported by 10.10 and Windows 7. Whatever site you were looking at may not have updated their details. Here is a link from the Canon Australia web site showing the drivers and applications for this model for 10.10.

  • How do I make my workhorse Samsung ML-1740 printer work with Yosemite 10.10.3?

How do I make my workhorse Samsung ML-1740 printer work with Yosemite 10.10.3?

Are any other Samsung printers affected? Or is this a specific ML-1915 problem?
(I still can print on a shared ML-1640 printer at home.)
I hope Apple is also reading these forums: As said before: This started with the OS X update!
Then in between there were Samsung printer updates issued by Apple via the softwareupdated function.
They also didn´t solve the problem.
I also tried removing the printer and adding/setting it up again. (as suggested in the Apple support pages).
Even installing the original driver that came on CD. That didn´t help either.
Logic still tells me that this is an Apple / OS X caused problem. Please fix it!!!
I have no intention to buy a new printer just because Apple might have messed up with their updates.
The printer was working perfectly fine and it just got a fresh toner.

I have had this problem for close to a year. I have an Extreme base station, two Airport Express's and multiple G4 Mac's with up to date software. I have spent a huge amount of time trouble shooting, resetting, reapplying software and finally calling Applecare without any help. It would be great to get this problem solved.

  • Need a printer compatible with Mac OS 9

    Hi there!
One of my client is trying to find a new printer compatible with mac os 9. I've look around, but only have found printer for Mac OS X. Do you have any ideas? Thanks!!!

    Christian Labbe...
Epson C86 comes into mind but may be thinning out in some areas stock. Epson seems to be pulling away from Mac OS 9 support for some time.
About the only others I have seen is a few Lexmark's like the Z600 series however their cartridges seem overly priced and it is best to get the expensive high yield ones over the moderate yield ones. Another thing about Lexmark, is they may skimp on a cartridge or both from in the box sale, so read the box over carefully.
Do not get me wrong as Lexmark's are a decent printer, however they do have the highest cost per page in printing ever known to the world. If you need to do several copies of something, it may be cheaper for you to make a printable page and photocopy the remainder. Lexmark also doesn' t rely much on Chooser's configurations as they are somewhat a native Desktop USB printer. They can be configured also as a USB Network printer out of the box.

  • Is illustrator cs6 compatible with yosemite?

is illustrator cs6 compatible with yosemite?

Charu: Hello. Welcome to Adobe Technical Support.
    DAVID GROSSMAN: Hi Charu.
Charu: I can see that you are facing issues while launching Illustrator CS6 on your MAC Yosemite.
Charu: But I would like to inform you that CS^ version is not compatible with MAC OS X 10.10.1 version
Charu: Please check the below link.
    DAVID GROSSMAN: REALLY?!
    Charu: http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements.html#Illustrator CS6 system requirements
    Charu: Yes, really.
DAVID GROSSMAN: So what are my options? The rest of the CS6 Suite works fine.
Charu: I would not suggest you to downgrade your OS, but you may upgrade to cloud version which is compatible with your MAC.
DAVID GROSSMAN: When will an update be available so that I can continue to use CS6 on the latest version of the Mac OS?
Charu: If you will check the system requirements for CC version in the above article, it says that it is compatible with MAC OS X 10.10
Charu: CS6 is a legacy software now and is no longer supported so there will not be any future update release for the same.
DAVID GROSSMAN: I don't want to upgrade to CC. The rest of the CS6 suite works great.
    DAVID GROSSMAN: REALLY?!
DAVID GROSSMAN: Apparently Adobe has forgotten what platform built their company.
Charu: Yes, also we have a limited support for CS6 only on our forums.

Is ENDNOTE X3 compatible with YOSEMITE?
ENDNOTE X3 is a rather old version since the current version is ENDNOTE X7. However, ENDNOTE X3 library contains a large list of references required for my work. I use Mac version 10.7.5 and ENDNOTE X3 operates nicely.
Thanks to those who could answer

  • When Can we expect Creative Cloud to be compatible with Yosemite? I am dead to creation!

When Can we expect Creative Cloud to be compatible with Yosemite? I am dead to creation!

I have a 500 GB hard drive; that's how I've avoided the issue, to date. But you consider a 2000 shot bat mitzvah a small shoot, so I have know problem acknowledging you shoot a lot more than I do.
The key point about Aperture, to date, is that it doesn't add ANY data to original RAW files, period. Everything it appears to do -- everything is just a set of modifications to the master. This applies to sharpening, this applies to shadows and highlights, this applies to cropping... and it applies to metadata.
As for archival, etc., ... if you're archiving outside of Aperture... why not just use multiple Aperture libraries? It's a bit inconvenient (to the extent that it takes 15 seconds to change the setting and re-launch), but it gets around the problem. I mean, if you're archiving external to Aperture in original RAW format, you're not only "losing" the metadata... you're losing every single change you've made to the file. Truly, no editing functionality of anything would you be using in this scenario.

  • Keynote 09 compatible with Yosemite ?

    Dear all !
Does Keynote 09 (v5.3) is compatible with Yosemite ?
    Thank you !

I do not have an answer, but I experienced the same problem yesterday, 11/11. I also recently upgraded to 10.6 and have been using iWork '09 and Keynote 5.0.3. I have had zero problems opening any of my Keynote files until yesterday. Two files were either unable to open or if opened would not display/play properly. Actually I was able to open one presentation but when I clicked on a certain slide the error message appeared, the one about the SFWordProcessing plugin, and the program quit. I re-opened, dragged the "good" slides to a new presentation document and re-fashinoned another slide. I had to completely start over on the other - even the backup would not load.
Also I notice that in "Letter Press", if I select italic, (from the keyboard or the format menu) the entire set of bullets displays vertically, only one letter wide! This may be the case across the board, I don't know.

  • CS6 compatible with Yosemite?

I will be upgrading my Mac Pro desktop to a 27" iMac and transferring all my data.
I use CS6: Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (not Creative Cloud).
Will CS6 be completely compatible with Yosemite?
    It had better be!
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Recommendations for wireless mono laser printer compatible with OS 10.6.7?

I am looking for a wireless mono laser printer compatible with Snow Leopard OS10.6.7. This is to be shared by 4 Macs in a small office. We are connected to the internet via DSL modem (2 wired, 2 wireless), and communicate with the Bonjour network. We have a Time Capsule, but are not using that for a server at this time. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

How long is a piece of string?
There's a myriad of compatible printers that meet your given criteria, but that's mostly because you haven't been very specific about your needs... 'compatible with 10.6.7' is just one of many considerations.
For a start, what's your budget? That may narrow the field considerably.
Then what's your expected print run? If you're printing tens of thousands of pages per month your needs are way different from someone printing one or two pages a day (or week!). There's a reason why printer manufacturers list a 'duty cycle' on their spec sheets - it tells you what they think it's capable of handling so that you don't under or over-spec your printer.
And 'duty cycle' is way more than just the speed per page - it's how quickly the components wear out and need replacing. If you print 10,000 pages per month then the manufacturer has to build using higher-grade components that can run for hundreds of thousands of pages before servicing/replacing (and I'm talking here of things like fusers, belts, and the like, not consumables like ink and toner).
On the other hand there's no point in the manufacturer using high-grade components that can handle 1,000,000 cycles in a printer that's printing 100 pages a month - the printer, your computer and probably even you would be obsolete way before those components wore out.
Then you need to consider input capacity. If you're printing a lot you'd probably appreciate high-capacity input bins (so you don't have to walk over to the printer every hour to refill the tray).
What about duplex? Do you want to be able to print double-sided (either now or in the future)?
Since this is a small office, do you want other multi-function features such as fax/scan/copier?
These questions (and probably more) will go a long way to identifying the 'right' printer for your needs. As it stands, though, there really isn't enough data to offer any advice.

  • New version of iOS 7 more compatible with yosemite?

There are currently many existing users with iPhone 4 running iOS7, these users can't avail any benefits of Yosemite. What are the chances of apple releasing a patch for iOS 7 to make it more compatible with Yosemite.

We are all fellow users and not Apple employees so cannot speak for Apple, however, in the past Apple has not done upgrades to iOS versions to improve compatibility with later Mac OS X versions.  The switch to newer iOS versions, and dropping off certain lower-end devices, is done to add functionality which the older devices cannot handle.  That may be due to limits on processor power and memory.  So, a patch to an older iOS to make it more compatible will not help as the hardware demands will be too great.

  • Is Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 [Word, Excel, Powerpoint] compatible with Yosemite?

Is Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 [Word, Excel, Powerpoint] compatible with Yosemite?

I'm using Excel, Word and Outlook for Mac 2011 in Yosemite without any issues.  I can't speak for Powerpoint, as I've never opened it.  I'm not a power user in Office, so I doubt I've really exercised it.  But so far, Word editing and some simple Excel spreadsheets I use for inventory tracking have worked with no problem.
