Any problem leaving my MacBook on all the time for the new AppleTV?

I now have two new AppleTVs, both of which Home Share with my one MacBook.
Home Sharing only works when my MacBook is powered up and iTunes is running.
Questions are...
Is there a problem with leaving my MacBook plugged in and turned on all the time? Battery health?
Is there any way to make iTunes Home Sharing work with the cover closed?
Suggestions?

I'll clarify my questions. I am using my MacBook the same way you would use a home computer, like a MacPro or a MacMini. I have it hooked to a home TV and I use a bluetooth keyboard and magic pad to operate it. It just sits next to the TV like cable box does.
Issue #1) My MacBook is plugged in and turned on all the time, 24/7. This is not a problem for a MacPro or MacMini since neither one has a battery, so my first questions are: Will this destroy the battery's ability to maintain a charge when I do occasionally use my MacBook as a portable? Also, could this be a fire hazard since laptop batteries tend to get warm?
Issue #2) With the cover closed, the MacBook continues to operate as long as it is receiving periodic input from the keyboard or trackpad. However, once the TV that it is connected to is turned off, the MacBook goes to sleep since it's no longer hooked to a display, either it's own (cover closed) or the TV monitor (turned off). Next question is: Is there any way to keep this MacBook and iTunes operating in this condition (turned on, but cover closed and TV monitor off) so that I can continue to HomeShare with the other AppleTVs in the house?

If I purchase Iphone 4s from apple store, Can I claim the stuff at "istudio" in my country when it has any problem? Or do I have to buy for the warranty as well? I am deciding between ordering from apple store and buying from the representative.

Warranty is ONLY valid in the country where the device was originally sold by Apple.
The ONLY exception is for devices sold in the EU, as warranty and service can be obtained in any EU country.
The warranty on the iPhone is not International.

I've been using iMovie for a while now to make movies out of mostly travel photos and video clips.  I try to vary the time for the photos from 1-4 sec., although most of them are 1-2 seconds so as to keep it short.  A friend of mine who saw my most recent product said that this is too short.  Any ideas out there?

I apologize for my confusion on your question.  I find that depending on the principal of each photo and my target audience to determine the time frame for each photo.  It seems most people get impatient with viewing one photo for more than 1-2 seconds if the photo is not complex.
If there are several things that interests the viewers in any one image, they want to look at it a second or two longer.  If the movie of images is a training aid, the images may need to be more than 3 seconds.  For intro's, or a trailer for a training movie, no longer than 1-2 seconds.
That was a long answer to say, generally speaking, I find 3 seconds to be an average time length.

  • How to get rid of the "time" for the airport connection?

    Hello,
When I connect to the wireless network at my house my Airport Symbol (top right of screen by date & time, speaker volume, etc) shows the amount of time spent on the wireless network. It shows it in day, hour, minute & second. When I connect to wireless networks outside of my home, the airport symbol is there, but with no "time" next to it.
How do I set this up so that no "time" is showing but the airport symbol remains?
My buddy's "time" never shows up, but when he comes to my house it does...
I cannot seem to find the setting to remove just the time...
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.

Found it... It can be changed via the drop down menu from the wireless icon in the top right part of the screen. You can get an second menu from your network name and can choose to show the time or not.

  • The time for the 2.1 release...

Do they generally release it at a set time? (for instance, midnight eastern) I'd love to be among the first to download it, but I'm guessing they will release it at a random time during the day tomorrow to avoid server overloads.
Anyone know what the SOP is for Apple's update releases?

  • Capturing the time for rendering the JSFscreen.

I have a JSF application running on WAS6.1. We have some performance issues.
The JSF rendering is taking long time to render the page. All the database operation ie querying the database and leaving the prerender method is happening so fast.

  • Is there a way to track the time within the clip (not sequence) that you're in?

Let me try to explain this as best I can and make sense.
I watched a video clip and I liked everything from, let's say the :30 mark to the minute mark. So, I import it into Premiere.
However, when I put it at the end of the next clip, it shows the time for the whole sequence. Now, I know that I can do the math, but is there a way to show where the 30 second mark (in this example) is by avoiding doing the calculation? It's do-able, but seems a little tedious.
Would like to "reset the clock" so to speak when working on individual clips within the timeline.

Choose the edit points in the Source Monitor before inserting to the Sequence.
You can see the duration of the In and Outs in the Monitor .

iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.

    How crap is that?
    It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?
and maintain a current backup of your computer.

  • Is it better to leave your macbook pro in sleep mode during the night or have it shutdown all night?

Is it better to leave your macbook pro in sleep mode during the night or have it shutdown all night?

During sleep, your MacBook consumes a little part of the battery, so it won't harm leaving it in sleep mode. Also, you will be able to start using it quickly, as you don't need to wait until Mac OS X turns on.
I only recommend you to turn off the MacBook if you are not going to use it for days in order to save battery, but apart from that, you don't need to turn it off

Why can't I update my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1? Every time I try it gets all the way done downloading it; however when it's processing the file the page tells me "There is a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. or try again later." and next to the file it has err = -3259. I have tried this 17 times and it won't work. My iTunes is completely up to date. I have made sure that my connection is fine and I have tried turning my firewall off with no avail. This has happened to me before but usually the update will go through after 2-3 tries, never to this extent. I don't know what to do. Help!

Error -3259 is a network timeout error, usually. This article might help:
