Any process to follow if we keep the dual processor

Hi all of u,
I am using Oracle 10g. My question is, In the Windows 2003 Prof. single processor i installed the Oracle 10g server. After that we ordered the dual processor for this server system. Now What to do this, shall i deinstall the oracle 10g and install again in this machine or it will run as usual.
Any process to follow if we keep the dual processor.
Oracle 10g Version 10.2.0.1.0
OS: Microsoft Windows 2003 Prof.

Thank u for al u r reply. I understood, but i want to know is any changes made to any parameter in that database folder to improve the performance after keeping multiprocessor to the server system.
I mean to say that in the books it has given that " PARALLEL PROCESSING CAN HELP IMPROVE PERFORMANCE IN SITUATIONS WHERE LARGE AMOUNTS OF DATA NEED TO EXAMINED OR PROCESSED, SUCH AS SCANNING LARGE TABLES, JOINING LARGE TABLES CREATING LARGE INDEXES AND SCANNING PARTITIONED INDEXES.
PARALLEL PROCESSING REQUIRES MORE PROCESSING MEMORY, AND I/O RESOURCES THAN SERIAL PROCESSING.
So any parameters to add to improve the performance of the database when we install multiprocessor in server system.
Thank u..
Ravi

I sent in my iPod nano to the replacement program about two weeks back. However, I checked the status of the repair and it still says it has not been received yet. However, my boyfriend sent in his the same time I did and his repair status says repair being diagnosed. I still have the "receipt" of the package when they first sent it to me. I sent it via FedEx. Is there any way to follow up on where the nano could be or maybe find out if I can still get a replacement even though my nano might be lost in transit?

    I sent it via FedEx.
Call FedEx.  They will be able to track their own packages.  They will let you know if your iPod Nano was delivered and to who!

  • Is there any way to cut audio while keeping the video it is tied to?

ok, I have a video from a dvd i burned on FCE but the sound is messed up. I am going to be making a AMV with it anyway so I don't really need the audio. Is there any way of cutting the audio without disturbing the video it was imported with. I must stress that they were not imported separately.

Place the footage in the timeline. Click the lock key on the vidoe time line. This will place a screen looking thing over the video. Select the audio in the time line and press delete. That will delete the audio but keep the video. Then unclick the lock key and all should be well. Always remeber the "undo" option if you mess up. I use it all the time.

  • Selecting one of the dual processor on Windows

I looking for a way to programactically select one of the processor on on Dual processor windows machine/
LabVIEW or CVi works. If dll is availiable that is alos fine.
I read couple a article in the discussion forum mentioned NI had a LabVIEW exe that does this.
Can any one point to it
    Sincerely,
    Naresh Kumar Shenkeshi

    Naresh,
The last topic applies to multiprocessor systems. Assigning certain threads to particular processors is something that must be done through SDK functions, it's NOT in the CVI libraries or LabVIEW. The reasons this functionality isn't included is because it's a very simple SDK call that CVI could not have made any simpler. The SDK function SetThreadIdealProcessor (ThreadId, ProcessNum) can be called to assign ThreadId to a zero based ProcessNum. The ThreadID can be obtained from a CVI call(for e.g) and the number of processors on the machine can be determined from a CVI call to CmtGetNumberOfProcessors. Keep in mind only Windows NT and 2000 support multiprocessors systems.
More detailed information on all these topics and some additional topics are in
    cluded in the PDF below.
You can also find more details on SDK at the Microsoft Website: www.msdn.com
Finally the exe file you're mentionning was probably part of a demo and not available for download.

I have an iPad and an iPhone that share an iCloud account. I didn't realize when I got my iPad last year that when I signed up the iCloud on the device that it would share and use 5g of iCloud between the both of them. How do I unsync them and have two separate iCloud accounts? I don't care about sharing between them. When my kids put games on my iPad, I don't want them going on my phone. How do I create a new iCloud without losing any info on the other device?

  • Is there any API to keep the Invoice Scheduled  Payment on Hold ?

    Hi All
Is there any public or private API to keep the Invoice Scheduled Payment on Hold? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hii,
Invoice goes automatically on schedule payment hold, if bank details are not updated (only in case of "Electronic" payment method). Moreover, one can manually check the box for payment hold at Schedule payment level.
    Hope this clarifies your query.

  • Distribution Manager failed to process package triggers an update of the packages

    Hi all,
    we have randomly following issue:
SCCM 2012 Sp1 CAS, takes a snapshot of a Windows update package in the morning (not sure how the frequency of this check is done). If for any reason it fails, SCCM automatically redistributes the package to all sites. This happened this morning again for 5
Windows updates packages. You understand that this means GB sent to all Secondary sites (66) with an useles amount of data sent out.
From the Status messages I see
    Information Milestone RC0 06.11.2014 07:12:11 SCHVSGGSC600.rccad.net SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER 2300 Distribution Manager is beginning to process package "SUP-2014.09" (package ID = RC00017B).
Then lot of updates lists with comment taking a snapshot and finally
Error Milestone RC0 06.11.2014 07:12:29 SCHVSGGSC600.rccad.net SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER 2302 Distribution Manager failed to process package "SUP-2014.09" (package ID = RC00017B).    Possible cause: Distribution manager does not have access to either the package source directory or the distribution point.  Solution: Verify that distribution manager can access the package source directory/distribution point.    Possible cause: The package source directory contains files with long file names and the total length of the path exceeds the maximum length supported by the operating system.  Solution: Reduce the number of folders defined for the package, shorten the filename, or consider bundling the files using a compression utility.    Possible cause: There is not enough disk space available on the site server computer or the distribution point.  Solution: Verify that there is enough free disk space available on the site server computer and on the distribution point.    Possible cause: The package source directory contains files that might be in use by an active process.  Solution: Close any processes that maybe using files in the source directory.  If this failure persists, create an alternate copy of the source directory and update the package source to point to it.
This triggers immediately an update of all DPs
Information Milestone RC0 06.11.2014 07:43:52 SCHVSGGSC600.rccad.net SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER 2304 Distribution Manager is retrying to distribute package "RC00017B".    Wait to see if the package is successfully distributed on the retry.
    Any idea
How this can be avoided, since nobody changed the package and we suppose it was a temp connection issue between the CAS and the package repository server
If this check can be set up to once a week for instance or even less?
    Thanks,
    Marco

Now as I mentioned it was probably an SQL (more likely) or networ issue, however the question was more about how to avoid that. Finally the packages were not changed and if possible I would avoid any automatic SCCM action on packages unless an operator manually
    triggers them.
I didn't see any error today, so it should not be a configuration issue.
    Is this possible?

  • How do I keep the command window open?

I want to write a batch file that will leave the window open after running so I can see what the output is.
I kind of remember having to use %k
But I'm not sure exactly how to do it.
UPDATE: I found what I was looking for, it's /k when you execute the command file.
If anyone has any additional comments about scripting and keeping the command window open, please comment.

Add "pause" to the end of the batch.

  • Keep the G4 1.42 or Upgrade

Comments please on whether to keep or upgrade...
I have a G4 1.42 with 512mb ram, 80gig drive, BT, 802.11 and DVD writable drive. eBay market is getting anywhere from $280 to $350 for these systems. The system is slow and I'm sure a memory upgrade to a gig would help but I not sure if the if it is the right course. Are the current Mac Mini platforms leaps and bounds better than this system? Anyone here been in a similar situation?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Whether to upgrade or not is at least as much dependent on what you use the system for as it is to do with what the current range of minis are capable of. In performance terms, your 1.42 G4 mini is well behind the speed of even the entry-level mini at the current time, by a significant factor, but if you were primarily using it for email and web browsing, you wouldn't realize a major gain in performance by switching. Noticeable, but not major.
To put it in a broad perspective, the current minis are roughly equal to the overall performance of the dual processor G5 systems of 2 or 3 years ago - the systems that when your mini was costing around $650 with 512Mb RAM, were costing closer to $3000. Thus switching to an Intel mini would gain you somewhat more than double the overall performance, and then a bit more.
But it's not just speed that you need to consider, because Intel Macs require Intel-native applications in order to run at maximum efficiency. The software Apple supply is all Intel native of course, so if you use iLife, Safari, Mail etc, you'll certainly get the benefit. However, if you will need to run existing software which is not Intel native, then while these will run on the Intel platform, thanks to Rosetta, which in built in to MacOS, they'll run much more slowly than native software - probably not giving any improvement in performance over the 1.42 mini you have already. As such, you need to consider your software, and decide what, if anything, you might need to replace with newer versions in order to gain the benefits.
You can of course up your existing RAM to 1Gb, which will improve your G4 mini somewhat, and also either replace the internal drive with a 7200rpm device or add an external with a 7200rpm drive and use it to boot the system, in which case you will also gain improved performance. That would be the best option if you are tied to current software which is not Intel native, or need to use 'Classic' (OS9), which is not available on the Intel platform.
Overall though, in the simplest of terms, yes, the current Intel minis are leaps and bounds ahead of the original G4 models.

  • I have more then one apple ID's on my phone how do I remove one but keep the other?

I need help, I have more then one apple ID on my iPhone 4, is there any way to delete one but keep the other?

You can only be signed in to one Apple ID at a time.  Sign in to the one you want and ignore the other.

  • Will the coreduo act in the same way as a dual processor?

The dual processor G4 that I had was able to have one unix process running on one processor and another process running on the other processor. This meant that if I had a process that took up 100% of a processor, it would not bog down my computer, because other processes could work on the other processor.
Does the CoreDuo that is in the MacBook allow a process to fill up one processor and run other processes on the other? Just checking.

It can work that way. The behavior is dictacted by the OS and how it handles multithreaded processes. The Core Duo is two processor cores on a single piece of silicon. I know from personal experience that it is possible to have one process on one core and another on the second core. It doesn't always work that way though.

  • Script Alert: "Sorry I could not process the following files" (Error Message using Image Processor)

I'm a seasoned Photoshop/Bridge CS5 user who recently upgraded to CS6.  In Bridge I just ran my first Image Processor batch, trying to convert a set of RAW .NEF files to .PSD files with a basic editing action I created applied to them.  Photoshop CS6 opens the files from Bridge and applies the actions, but then I get the "Script alert" error message "Sorry I could not process the following files" and a list of all of the files in the batch I was trying to run the script on.  The files all remain open and are saved on my hard drive in a folder created by the Image Processor script, but do not close unless I manually close them.  I never had this problem in CS5 where the image processor would apply the desired actions to the batch of photos one at a time, then save and close.  Thoughts on how I can fix this bug?

    Hey Jeff--
No specific action steps to make the image safe - no flattening, etc. Had problems narrowing down the specific action step causing the problem. So I ran the Image Processor script in the ExtendScript ToolKit and debugged in. (I'm using the version that shipped with CS4.)
Turns out what was happening is that the app.activeDocument.close() command on line 1490 was never getting called, because the this.SaveFile() above it was throwing an exception. More debugging got me to the problem - SaveFile() tries to restore the history state after making a doc safe for saving as a JPEG. This causes an exception. So I commented out line 1571:
    // app.activeDocument.ativeHistoryState = historyState;
The script runs just fine after this. I commented out the close to see what history states got added to the doc, but no new states are recorded, so commenting out the restore line should not cause any problems.
Of course, my solution does not solve the problem and I may need to comment out all the saveFile() lines that does this. Not sure why some actions have this problem and others don't. The actions I am running have about 25 steps. Perhaps PS is not catching up quick enough. I added a $.sleep(2500) after the restore history but that didn't help.
So, not sure where this gets us. I will check about posting an action set with just one of the actions that cause the problem. But I may also have our customer comment out that line of the Image Processor script.
Hope this helps. May post more next week.

I keep getting the following error message during the upload in iTunes Producer: ERROR ITMS-9000: "Files of type audio/x-m4a are not allowed outside of widgets. then it names the file as an m4p file. Everything works beautifully on the iPad through Preview, and validates through iTunes Producer up until the attempted upload. If you've been able to accomplish this, please let me know how you prepared your audio files. Many thanks.

    Hello Fellow iBook Authors!
Today I received the same error that you all have been discussing.  I tried selecting the DRM
and this did not work for me, though I'm glad it did for some.  Here's what I did as a work-around. . .
Since iBooks Author did not have a problem with Videos, I simply used one of my video programs, ScreenFlow to turn the audio into a video file m4v.  I added an image and extended the length or timing of the image to span the length of the audio file.  Then exported as an .mov.  I then opened QuickTime and opened the file and exported the file to iTunes.
You can use iMovie, Camtasia or any other progam that will allow you to export the audio as a movie file.  Does this make sense?  I hope this helps, at least in the short-term.

DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?

Let's try this first. Hold down the Shift key while you try to launch iTunes. You should eventually see the following dialog:
Click "Choose library". Browse to inside the following location (depending on what operating system you're running):
    Operating System
    Default location of iTunes library
