SM59 is for RFC (remote function call).
If you are looking for ODBC-like connection, would you consider Tcode DBCO, then use native ABAP code to connect to the remote SQL server?

Hi,
Put the Package into a TR using transaction SE80.
Provide the TR no. to BASIS consultant & ask him to provide the file of that TR.
Import the TR file in another system.
Thats it.

Any way to get java for my iPod Touch?

I can't access the network at my college because the sign-in page needs java. This is really frustrating. I read about something being done about this in February of 2008! What happened?

No, the iPod touch does not support Java and there is no way of adding it.
JavaScript and Java are totally different and JavaScript is enabled by default in Safari on the iPod touch.
Your best bet would be to ask your college to consider a different sign-in page, as technically, there's no reason to use Java, and by doing so they are denying access to many handheld devices and mobile phones which people are increasingly using to access networks on the go.

Hello,
You would probably want to use UWL in the portal. From UWL you can launch tasks from portal, and with proper configuration (for example with the help of transaction SWFVISU) you can easily start web dynpro applications from UWL.
I suggest you go trough the SAP documentation about UWL. Start for example here:

Which software to use for email from Sap on the AS/400 and Microsoft Exchan

We want to sent email and attachment from SAP 4.6c - AS/400 and Microsoft Exchange Server.

From Note 455127 and other Notes...
As you are at 4.6C, you have to choose SAPconnect with RFC. And as I remember, SAP Exchange connector is no longer supported in new release of Exchange. So Internet Mail Gateway is probably the best choice...
Please following Note 99965 - basically configure SMTP on i5/OS (AnyMail - free of charge likely), create a file on IFS, etc.

Error for connectivity to transfer IDOC from SAP R/3 to PI.

Dear All,
While transferring IDOC from R/3 to PI, Outbound IDOC is sucessfully transferred in R/3 but when i check in PI IDOC is not recieved . Checking the Status in TCODE: SM58 we get the following error:
No_Run_Permission
All the RFC and Port Connections are fine and in place.
Kindly guide through...

Just check the RFC user has correct authorization to post IDOC to PI. Your Basis person can help you in this.

Connection string for 9i from vb6.0

i am accessing a package and stored procedure inside the package from vb 6.0 application. the record fetch is too slow and takes about 4 mins for just 11 records. if i execute the package directly it takes 3 seconds for the records to be fetched. i am using MSDAORA.1 provider for this with LDAP security permissions
how to overcome the slow retrieval of records from the application?

Not to worry. When we Copy and Paste within a project, iMovie HD creates a new clip thumbnail for the Timeline/Clips pane, then simply adds a new pointer to the source video. The source material is not duplicated.
When you Copy a clip and Paste a clip to a DIFFERENT project then Yes, the clip's entire source video file is duplicated. (When Copying between projects, be sure to Copy and Paste all the clips together so iMovie duplicates the source files just one time.)
Next time, you might consider setting your iMovie 6 preferences to limit the length of imported clips to 3 minutes — or whatever duration you want. Then each imported clip will have its own source file. When you discard an entire clip its file will be discarded too, shrinking the size of the project.
If you have no need to preserve the clips as clips you could export the project to a Full Quality movie that you import to a new project. Everything will arrive as a single clip, which may be okay here. Then discard your old project. The project will be smaller, containing just the stuff on the Timeline.
If the Timeline contains most of the source material — just split into small clips — there may not be a lot of "extra" material in the project. To get an estimate of how large the Timeline really is, open the "Timeline Movie.mov" that's inside the Cache folder of the project in QuickTime Player. QT Player's Show Movie Info window will show the size of the material it represents.
