Any real gain from installing ios6?

There seem to be more real complaints and issues about this upgrade than previous ones, maps being the obvious one. Is ios6 going to give me any positive improvements on an iPhone 4 or does keeping Google maps outweigh any benefits from the upgrade?

I think ios5 was better than ios6. No youtube in ios6. Map is worst in ios6. you can get lost if you follow apple map in ios6. Hope Apple can tell us any improvement or better features available in ios6.

Lack of any real help from BT

Since the 30th May I have been phoning and reporting a fault on my line, which means we are unable to make or receive calls also our broadband keeps dropping off. Was promised it would be done by the 6th June, full week after I reported it. Heard nothing so chased again and was told now Tues 12th. However yesterday I found out if you phone our number it is being directed to someone else. I reported this again to the fault team who did not seem to understand what I was saying and again this morning. I have phone the number as well I spoke to a very angry person who is P*****D off about getting all my calls.
I have tried a number of times now to explain the problem to the fault time and each time am told the cross connection has been resolved....when I know it has not because I call my number from a mobile and get someone else. Does anyone know who I can complain to and make this an official complaint. I done the e-mail on the website and the live chat but one end with no response and the live chat said had to call the fault team. Also what is that every call I make to the fault team I get call back about 10 mins later asking for my feedback!!!! When they fix it will give feed back.
Any advice as pulling my hair out now....can't even change supplier as the fault is at the exchange!!!!!

Any real benefits from Snow Leopard?

We are thinking about upgrading our office from 10.4.11 to 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Can anyone that has already upgraded tell me what they think the benefits are of upgrading. Thanks alot!

if everything in your office is working fine, there is no immediate benefit to an upgrade. As time goes on, you might find that newer versions/updates to applications and devices you use drop support for older OSX versions, at which point you'll have to upgrade.
My suggestion would be to upgrade one of your machines (one that does a typical range of work) as a pilot. If everything works, you can plan a wider upgrade when it suits you. If some things don't work, you'll know what problems need to be resolved before you go the rest of the way.

Thank you for your responses.. To Sjazbec, At least you guys in Germany and the Netherlands have some kind of posters from Apple to let you know that the feature is not available.
There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..

Just sorted my iphone 5 out, by doing a full reset & starting from the very beginning.
My phone seems to be working fine now.
Although it seems I didn't back up my 4S properly & I'm missing all my messages & notes since the end of July

Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

Hi there,
Firstly, try a hard reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work, try restoring your device. Put it in recovery mode if iTunes doesn't recognise it, and restore it from there. I have linked to instructions below.

If you just did upgrade Lion, give it some time. I recall having similar problems and some articles mention heavy background work after install - such as re-indexing for Spotlight etc. I couldn't even copy from folder to folder or e.g. iphoto to folder on the same disk. Went away after a day or two though.
I do however still have a problem with AFP access to one of the lion machines - kills it's network adaptors rather quickly. No luck solving this so far :|

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

When I go to install ios6 it comes up with error on installation message with close setting options and dosnt install
I have enough memory space any one help I'm trying to do it wireless

The issue seems to be with Windows 8/computer. Try googling those error codes and see what result you get.

I'm all mac-based and followed the instructions for the upgrade to iOS6 software for iPhone but now my calendars won't synq. When I connect to iTunes and run the synq process, it gets stuck on the Calendar step and will not finish the synq process. I have to either wait for it to quit or force it to quit. Additionally, when I try to log a new event or meeting onto the Calendar on the iPhone, it will lock up and quit the app. I then have to shut down the iPhone to get it to open again but it just locks up again when I try to log a new event. Any suggestions? I'm tempted to do a back up and reinstall but don't want to risk any data loss.

The iPhone does not show up in the list of devices in the Bluetooth preference panel. It fails at the Pairing step of the Bluetooth setup assistant.

It cannot be installed. It comes pre-installed on every iPhone 4S and later. Maybe it was disabled under Settings > General > Restrictions.

iOS 6 only added support for the 3rd generation iPad. It was always on the iPhone 4S. Then the same goes for your boss: Maybe disabled in restrictions, or maybe actually an iPhone 4.
