Any software for making Cards, Collage of photos?

I want to make a Collage with some photos and also I want to make some cards.
Which software can I use of that?

I don't know of any solution that can be done by absolutely untrained personnel.
If they can run Excel, one could make a data merge template. The employees would need to be able to make changes to the Excel file. But you can make all but the entry cells protected so the spreadheet headers at least cannot be altered. And they would still need to start InDesign and be taught how to merge to a new document.
I created an XML run-in template for a local business and taught them how to edit the XML, start ID and update the link. At the beginning they had a few issues, but after a few visits for follow-up training, they have been running it for a couple years without too much of an issue. I still need to make new run-in templates once in a while, but they don't need trained on how to use them any more.
Seems to me the data merge might be easier to train your customer to do as it is pretty much like mail merge in Word, etc.

Per the specs, that printer never supported OS X. You'll want to either run Windows XP to access it — as a guest in a virtual machine or via Boot Camp, or via some other Windows XP system — or using a hack-around via a camera, or you'll end up replacing the printer.
You'll spend more than US$200 to US$400 to get that printer to work; that's the price of an entry-level replacement dye sublimation printer on Amazon. Assuming the printer supports some sort of protocol and has some mildly capable on-board rendering — it supposedly prints from cameras, which don't include rendering — then you'd need to find or write the CUPS driver support for the printer. You'll need to find the specs for the interface, which may not be easy. That's a somewhat manageable project, but you'll still almost certainly blow through more time and effort and cash than that printer is worth. If you can't find the specs for the printer interface — a situation which is unfortunately common — reverse-engineering the interface and writing the software will definitely cost more than a replacement printer.
Based on this and this — the latter page has one potential work-around to continue usage, using a camera as a file transfer device, though with the migration of OS X to Intel, the binary formats might now be little-endian again — this support didn't exist when the printer was new, and I seriously doubt it's been added.

im encoding a few videos to dvd, right now using devede which is cpu only.
are there any programs that take advantage of both the cpu and gpu for encoding videos?

Hi,
first of all you have to cut your songs into 20-30 sec clips. You can do it with quicktime pro.
Then you can convert them in mp3 with "mAC3dec", you can find it in versontracker. This will not work with songs bought on itunes Music store, since they are protected.

Whatever it is you end up using, it is IMPERATIVE you stop using the Mac until the rescue is completed.The more the drive gets modified, the greater the chance that the storage area the deleted file used to occupy will get written over, thereby making rescue impossible.

I am using mac osx 10.8 and now cant get print software for epson R2000 printer.

After system update, my Epson Stylus SX 535WD was ''gone''. I tried in vain to add it as an IP printer (got the IP-address from the printer). The printer model is correctly recognized, software download starts -- but then the "software ... is not currently available..."
Resetting the printing system did not help. Downloading Epson Printer Drivers v2.15.1 from here
did not help either, downloading Epson Printer Drivers.
In the end, I re-installed the printer software from the original CDs. After that the printer showed up as a Bonjour Printer, and I could add it without problem.
But note: although the printer is installed now and working properly, I still get the old error message (...software ..not available...) if I try to add the printer as an IP printer !?

I help run tournaments but using excel for pool play and the web for bracket play, but if wifi is not available I have no way of running brackets for prize play. Can some one help point me in the direction of software that I can use locally on my Mac Pro.

Does creative cloud include any software for HD video screen capture? I know that Captivate is not offered but are there other software applications available that do the same job? Spent some time yesterday doing research on this. There are good reviews and bad reviews for just about every screen capture application out there it seems.

Yesterday I bought the Sonne Screen video which is rated 5th on the top-ten site. (I figured as I'm going to be editing on premiere I shoudn't need to pay for extra editing packages and as I'm not using it to create tutorials I really just want a good quality screen capture for Windows 8). However, I'm not really happy with the image quality on playback and I'm finding the technical assistance really poor from Sonne. I still haven't received an email confirmation from them.
The others that I thought sounded right for me were WM Capture (though the top-ten review had a few negative things to say about it).
Tried a couple of the free ones also. EZvid is very popular.
Will see how I go and let you know. I'm sure this is very subjective and I'm probably not being as clear as I need to be about purpose of use.

Hello! I've never found any software that I would trust in regards to the matter. They are generally a one size fits all type program. If you are concerned enough to be looking for software then do the right thing and see a lawyer in YOUR state. The last thing you would want to do is leave a will/trust that turned out to be invalid in your state because of a technical error. This is one area where adequate counsel is a must. Tom

A good equipment and software for making music

Hello!
This is the situation: I´m using Garageband ´08 for making (good?) music, a USB-powered keyboard and the laptop stated below.
How would you suggest I'd do to get more instruments and better performance when editing music and playing it in realtime? I´ve sometimes thought about a Mac Pro, but as far as I discovered it didn´t improve music producing performance actually. What about those pro apps and jam packs?
Another problem is that my HDD is getting short of free space now.
I´m ready to hear your thoughts about this situation.

Well iMovie is probably the most basic editing software. This comes installed on your Mac. You should have no trouble learning how to use it after exploring the software a little.
If you want a lot more options for effects and tools and overall capabilities, Final Cut Pro X would be what you want. It's a bit more complex of a system than iMovie and can take some time to get used and learn everything the system has to offer. It might be a little pricy ($299) if your just looking to edit videos from your iPad and iPhone.
I would suggest just using iMovie first and if that doesn't do it for you, you could consider purchasing Final Cut Pro X.
*Also, there is Final Cut Express for around ~$160. This would be the simpler version of Final Cut Pro, however, this software discontinued so there would be no updates.

Any Software for Old Style 23" Cinema Display?

I just bought a second hand 23" Cinema Display (plastic casing) and it is gorgeous. Unfortunately the previous owner did not have the box or any of the accompanying literature or software.
It all works fine and the picture quality is excellent with none of the issues that have been reported on the new Al 23" model. However, I can't quite fathom out how the power button is supposed to work. I can wake the monitor and Mac from sleep yet that seems to be the limits of its functionality. Should it do anything else like put the monitor and Mac to sleep or shut them down?
Is there any software that I should have to add a few more capabilities? I've seen mention of Apple Display Software elsewhere. Is that required if I am running Mac OS 10.4.2?
If so is there anywhere that I can download that from? Also I would like a copy of the user manual even if it's just in PDF form. Is there a URL for that? The only one I could find was for the 22" Cinema Display.

Here's a little Applescript I've put in place to sleep the screen a minute after it's executed, provided I don't press a key or move the mouse. I saved it as an application and bound it to an unused key on my keyboard.

What this does is change the values for the EnergySaver in memory (the defaults remain unchanged) to sleep the display after 1 minute of inactivity (the minimum setting), then wait for 90 seconds then set it to 15 minutes (my default, but you can change this value to whatever your default is).
So if I press the button on my keyboard and leave my desk the screen will now sleep 1 minute later. If I use my Mac within that minute then it won't sleep.
I would love to be able to immediately put the screen to sleep. Setting the displaysleep value to 0 actually turns off the Energy Saver for the screen, so that's not an option.
