Any solution for iCloud - Outlook integration - Preparing calendar for first use?

Every time I switch to the calendar view I get a little bubble in the taskbar saying "preparing calendar for first use". This ends up freezing Outlook for about 45- 60 seconds -- long enough for the Outlook window to have a "(not responding)" added to the title bar. This freeze-out is massively disruptive. It seems like Outlook is re-preparing the new iCloud calendars every time. Is this normal? Is there a configuration setting I could look at for this?
Same/Reference issue found: ID # 10407486

I had the same issue, this is the solution that worked for me.
-remove all icloud sharing with caledar
-open outlook
-go to file > account settings > data files
-delete icloud data file
Now it doesn't freeze on me

  • Any solution to syncing Outlook 2011 all the way to iCloud.

Is there any solution to syncing Outlook 2011 all the way to iCloud.
I have read tons of posts and have tried the different ideas in there but I haven't found a solution yet.
I can successfully get Outlook 2011 to sync with iCal.  That is no problem.
When I activate iCloud all the iCal entries merge with iCloud and show up on iCloud.   Again everything seems great.
However, my new calendar entries in Outlook 2011 no longer sync over to iCal.  From what I understand this is because Outlook 2011 wants to sync with iCal "on my mac" calendar and when iCloud is activated "on my mac" calendars are removed from iCal.
Has anyone come up with the solution to this problem.  If so I would be in your debt if you would share it.
If not I just need to know so I can cut bait on using iCloud as a way to get my Outlook 2011 info onto my iPhone 4S.
    Thanks for the help!
    Chris

  • How do I configure itunes to look for my Outlook contacts and calendar?

Being fairly new with the iPhone, how do I configure itunes to look for my Outlook contacts and calendar?  At the moment, when I try to sync, I get the "No supported calendar application can be found" message.  Thanks!

You could try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923, then reinstalling iTunes.  This will replace a potentially corrupt Outlook plugin.  You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful.  Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

    Greetings chaimba216,
After reviewing your post, I located an article that can help with resetting your iCloud password:
    iCloud: Change your iCloud password
Your iCloud password protects the privacy of the information (such as your email) stored in iCloud. Your password also protects your ability to locate or remotely erase your device using Find My iPhone. You should regularly change your iCloud password to protect your information. Your iCloud password is the password for the Apple IDyou use to sign in to iCloud.
Important: If you use the same Apple ID for iCloud as you do with other Apple services such as the Apple Online Store, iTunes Store, App Store, or to purchase products in iPhoto or Aperture, changing your iCloud password also changes your password for these services. Make sure you sign in to those locations using your new password.
Go to the My Apple ID website (appleid.apple.com) and follow the instructions to reset your Apple ID password.
For more information, see the Apple Support article Apple ID: Changing your password.
After changing your iCloud password, make sure you update it on all your devices and in any email apps you use to get your iCloud email.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > iCloud, then tap your iCloud account.
On a Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
On a Windows computer: Open iCloud for Windows.
In your email apps: Check the help provided for the email apps you’re using.
If you set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, make sure to set up a passcode lock on your device for added security. (Go to Settings > Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode.)
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Bobby_D

  • I'm registered to itunes and recommended to download icloud but was told I'm not registered for icloud how do I register for icloud?

I'm registered to itunes and recommended to download icloud but was told I'm not registered for icloud how do I register for icloud?

To register in iCloud, you need an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac in order to log in iCloud for the first time. See > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup
If you haven't got any of these devices to set up iCloud, you can't use iCloud. Anyway, probably you don't need it if you only have a PC and an iPod nano (it doesn't use iCloud)

There is nothing you can do. The iOS for the iPhone 3G is too old to run WhatsApp

  • Need help with Apple ID login for iCloud/MobileMe to move Calendar.

Despite the multiple warnings from Apple that MobileMe would be shutting down on June 30 & that I needed to migrate my "stuff," I didn't realize that my iCal calendar on my Mac & iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) was through my MobileMe account (@me.com login) and not my "main" Apple ID account (which is a Gmail login), so I didn't bother doing anything to migrate my "stuff" because I hardly ever used my MobileMe account, or so I thought. That said, my life revolves around my iCal calendar-- can't live without it! Two days ago I started getting a pop-up message on my Mac that says "iCal can’t log in to your “[email protected]” account because your password may be incorrect." It was while I went through Preferences to fix this that I realized my MobileMe account was the master one for iCal! I know that my password was correct, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that MobileMe is now shut down that caused the pop-up in the first place. Meanwhile, my calendars are not syncing between my devices, which is something I'd like to resolve ASAP!
I'd like to push everything over to iCloud, but I noticed that for some (dumb) reason, I used my MobileMe account login for iCloud as well! Is there any way to merge or replace my MobileMe account with my Gmail Apple ID account so that my iCloud is no longer tied to MobileMe, since that program is now defunct? If not, at the very least, any help you could provide on how to transfer my calendar to the Cloud would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Nevermind. Figured out the answer myself! Just had to dig a little deeper into the Apple Support Community than I had before I posted!

  • I have 2 apple IDs, one for Itunes, one for Icloud.  Have forgotten pasword for icloud ID.  When i try change password it invites me to change password on my other ID, which I don't want to do. How can i change the password?

I have two apple IDs.  One is used for most things - Itunes, Apps.  The other is the Icloud apple ID which I set up separately when I got my Ipad.  I decided to keep them both as I was worried about losing info.  However, on updating my Ipad to IOS7, it asked for a password for Icloud apple ID which I have forgotten.  I have tried to reset it.  The first time, Apple sent me a link inviting me to change the password on my Itunes apple ID which I don't want to do.  So I tried to sign in again using the Icloud ID.  Rather than asking for email verification this time I asked it to verify security information.  It asked for my date of birth which I gave, but it was rejected.  So I seem to have no way of resetting the password for the Icloud apple ID.  I know I can't merge the 2 IDs so i don't know what to do now!!

Firstly, go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with the ID you use for iCloud. A new password will be sent to your associated email address.
If that doesn't work, for example because it's going to an address you can't access, then you will have to contact Support. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password' and click 'Continue'.

  • Can't reset password for apple ID I use for iCloud because email is no longer in use and cite refuses to accept answer to security question. What do I do?

I can't reset the password for the apple id I use for iCloud because the associated email address is no longer in use and the site does not accept my answer to the security question. What should I do?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your account/security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

  • I forget my apple id for icloud thin... icant get starting use the ipad

i formated my ipad then i get a proplem i forget my apple id for icloud then i cant get starting use ipad

You should be able to skip the iCloud setup process on first startup. Look around for a skip button.
If you would like the setup iCloud though, follow the following steps:
If you know the answers to your security questions
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
    Select “Reset your password.”
Enter your Apple ID, then select Next.
Select “Answer security questions” as your authentication method. Select Next.
Select the birth date associated with your Apple ID, then select Next to begin answering your security questions.
After answering your security questions, you'll be asked to enter and confirm your new password. Select Reset Password when done.
If these steps didn't help you to reset your password, contact Apple Support.
If you have access to the email addresses associated with your Apple ID
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
    Select “Reset your password.”
Enter your Apple ID, then select Next.
Select “Email authentication” as your authentication method. Select Next.
Apple will send a password-reset email to the primary address or verified rescue address associated with your Apple ID. Didn't receive the email?
Open the message and select the link to reset your password.
When the My Apple ID page opens, enter and confirm your new password, then select Reset Password.

  • Getting same invites for the same even through calendar for last 6 hours

My girlfriend sen up a event on her iPhone 4S and invited me to it on my iPhone 5.  She set up the even yesterday and i only got a email notification 24 hours later, which is not the problem. The problem is that since today when the first email came through I gave a email every minute for the last 6 hours. At first I accepted it then I declined and now all the emails are coming back saying I have declined it which is to stop it but it still keeps sending them. When I look on the laptop in her sent folder I can see the hundreds of emails sent to me for the event.  I don't no why its doing this and we have done it before and no issues but today its gone all messed up and i just need no WANT to stop receiving  the emails.
Her phone exchange is connect to hotmail so I don't no if that is a issue.
But please can someone tell me how to stop it before I throw my iPhone and iPad at the wall.
    Thanx

read this thread sounds like the same issues the rest of us are having

  • Photos stalled in preparing library during first use

I am using an early 2009 iMac, 3.06 GHz intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR2 memory and 190 GB free storage.  OS X 10.10.3.  Photos 1.0 is being used for the first time and has been at 71% complete preparing library for several hours.  I presume it has stalled, what should I do?

Is there any CPU activity at all? I'd leave it. You have a relatively slow machine, all things considered. If it hasn't moved any more after a couple days, then consider doing something about it.

  • ICloud/Outlook 2007 - Contacts & Calendar duplicate items.

I just recently updated my 3GS to the new OS and installed iCloud and I'm having a couple of issues.
    1.  My contact and calendar items have been duplicated.  One set are listed under "My Calendars" and "My Contacts" and the other listed under "iCloud".  The iCloud items sync wirelessly to my phone but the others need the phone to be connect by cable to sync.  Aside from showing duplicate items on my phone, updating one set does not update the other.
Is there a way of having one set that sync wirelessly?
    2.  Calendar appointments listed under "iCloud" do not show up on my "To-Do Bar" applet in the mail screen or Outlook Today home screen.
How can I add these appointments to be visible on these screens?

By any chance are you running any Eset security software products (like Nod32) on that PC?
If so, there's a couple of alternatives.
Either try the procedure in Samoreen's post:
Re: iTunes 11.1.4.62 freezes while syncing with Outlook
Or, see if you can get hold of the Eset beta addressing the problem. As Samoreen notes in another post:
ESET have a workaround for this issue. They gave me access to a test version of the HIPS module and this fixed the problem. So I could re-enable the ESET_OPTIONS environment variable (although I still consider that it's a questionable idea). I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and there was no problem.
So maybe you should get in touch with ESET support and request the new module ? Just send a message to Marcos in the ESET forum.

  • ICloud Outlook Add-In: Calendar,

Outlook 2010 on Win 7 with iCloud.
I am in the Calendar pane, select New Appointment, then click Invite Attendees.
There is a line that says 'Click here to add a person'.
When I click there and start to type there is no auto complete feature.
Is there supposed to be one?
Is there a better/easier way to Invite someone who I use consistently?
    Thanks.

The sync can be very long, nbut only when you sign in from the Control panel. Once you're in Outlook, I don't think you sync that much.
I have the same issue using my old PC. Maybe you should check your hard drive, your memory usage and CPU usage. I fixed it by a new laptop, last year. Usually, this is a sign that you're short on memory and you're using the Windows page system memory file. So, your CPU might come short, your hard drive might be too slow or you don't have enough memory..  Otherwise, your hard drive may be too slow and very fragmented, reqyuiing Windows to spin a lot and read bits of files stored everywhere. The solution would be to defragment your hard drive. or worse.. it's a slow hard drive or showing sign of fatigue.
I'll go with defragmenting the hard drive first, then, the CPU and memory bump.

  • HT204053 i am trying to create an account for icloud. i have had itunes for years and am using my apple id. however it is coming back as saying this is your apple id but not your icloud id??? from what i have read this is the same thing. i cant get passed

I am trying to create an icloud account and  have used itunes for years . Therefore have been using my apple id to sign in. Unfortunatly it keeps coming back saying this is my apple id but not my icloud id is this different?
Ive looked at help and it states its the same i have changed my passord several times as i thought it was this. Can anyone please help.??

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. I checked, and at least one other user is having the same issue. I'll attempt to copy/paste the Support request url: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4430653?tstart=0
Thank you for any help you can give.
