Any solution for Laserwriter IIg?

This must be the oldest printer I have seen mentioned in the forum, but it still works great, and I have just changed the toner cartridge. If Apple really wants to be friends with Greenpeace tehy should find solutions before discontinuing an important architecture as Localtalk. Yes, I know a new laser is only xxx bucks, but their toners are expensive now, I do not care for more resolution than I have or color, and I hate wasting working stuff anyway)
Anyway, green ranting aside, is there any workaround, possibly based on Ethernet cables (it doesn't make sense to spend money on converters)? I do not know how to access the Ethernet address, the startup page is disabled, and I don't think I can enable it from OSX. Even if I could find it, anybody succeeded in printing to it through Ethernet? With which driver?
Thanks for any support in keeping the beast alive

The driver is still there in the OS, you just need to figure out a way to see it. If locating IP address is really difficult for you, a workaround is to setup the printer on a pre-SnowLeopard system and share the printer from there.
