Any solution from Apple re: charging devices that utilize firewire pins?

I wouldn't really mind if I just needed to replace a car charger or one single device, but literally everything I have produces that "not compatible with charging" warning. And one, I certainly can't replace: My 2008 Infiniti G35.
It appears that its iPod integration cable charged previous iPod/iPhones using the old firewire pins, and now it doesn't work. Unfortunately, buying another charger doesn't help, because it means removing the audio integration while charging, which defeats the purpose of the system.
Any sign that Apple is aware of the consumer frustration over this issue and going to offer a fix?
Anyone?

I have the same problem with my Pioneer radio. It has an ipod adapter that works great for music on my phone. But it won't charge my phone even though it worked with my ipod.
I'm hoping that there is a car charger that allows you to plug in another device to the same connector on the bottom. That way you can have the charger going and chain in the audio integration.
