Hi Shruthikaa,
As suggested LoadGen tool can be used for testing stress and performance, also you can do it with visual studio -

• Can't use any tool that requires 'mouseDown'

Hi,
Using Photoshop CS6 on Win7 64bit on a brand new machine with 'more than average' specs, I seem to be unable to use any tool that requires me to hold my left mouse button. Meaning;
- I can't make selections using any marquee tool
- I can't draw using brushes
- I can't draw shapes (I immediatly get the 'Create rectangle' popup, as if I released my mouse button)
- etc
Furthermore, I can't reverse the zoom direction by holding Alt.
I've reset my preferences to the factory default by deleting Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs.psp from the usersettings, this does not seem to solve the problem. I've seen several posts on similar issues, where answers suggest this might be caused by a sticky spacebar; as you can see in this post, this is not the case .
There is an exception to the above; sometimes (not always) I can selections on a fresh start of Photoshop. This ability is lost as soon as I use any other tool.
Does anyone knows a possible cause of this problem? As you might understand, Photoshop is pretty useless this way...
[edit]
As this might arise as a question: it doesn't seem as if another application 'steals focus', as I can always select other tools by using their shortcuts; that would not be possible if PS wouldn't have focus.
[/edit]

Found the issue is even bigger: if I open the marquee menu as shown below by single-right-clicking the marquee tool, I can't left-click any of the shown tools.
(and please don't ask which program I used to create this screenshot cut out; it's not PhotoShop, as I can't make a selection )

• How to save as XML with some predefined extensions

hi All,
In my application a template has to be created which should contain field headers and their respective field types - example field header LEVEL and field type COMBO BOX. Purpose is - a table will be created based on the fields in the template. Now I want to save this template as XML file with some predefined extension (like .templ). Later in my application i will retreive the saved template and use it to create table.
How can i save the file as XML with some predefined extension. We are using Swing to create template. Please help me with sample programs to solve this problem.

In an other post I found my solution thanks to "Peggy" :
Save As… has returned with Mountain Lion. Hold down the Option/alt key while clicking on the File menu & there it is! It also has a default keyboard shortcut.
Thank you Peggy

• Tools required to install to work with Oracle Data warehouse

Could anyone please guide me...as I am quite new to Oracle...
till now I was working on Data warehousing using Microsoft tools i.e. (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL Server)
So Please tell me which are the tools required to install to work with Oracle Data warehouse
I came to know about OWB and OBIEE, but not sure what exactly these are ?

In order to create and develop a webcenter portal application, you only need to install JDeveloper and download the WeBCenter extensions. That's true.
But this install does not include the WebCenter services like dicussions, document services, analytics,... If you want to use these and integrate them in your portal, then you would need to install the suite as described on my blog.

• Is there any tool that export/imports db schema in xml?

Hi all,
Do you know if there is a open soource library/tool that exports the schema of a database in a xml formatted file and then imports it back?
Could you please suggest me one?
thank you in advance, Kostas

What advantage is there to exporting it in XML? What does that buy you? Why isn't importing/exporting the SQL enough? All databases don't treat SQL the same, let alone an XML definition.
Not sure what you're getting at here.
Hibernate can create a database schema from an object model, given the right annotations, using XDoclet. It also helps with portability, because it "knows" about the common database dialects.
Maybe you need to learn Hibernate.

• SQL CPU always on top at 10:00 am, no jobs are execute at that time...any tool that helps me to find the issue?

Hi everyone,since one month ago, my sql server 2008 has been experimented that something makes that my cpu server always be on 100% at 10:00 am , and even sometimes have crashed the server because of this,i have no executions jobs programmed at that time,
ran sql history jobs to see if i missed some job, but not even one job seems to be executed at that time, also there is no antivirus or windows update programmed at time
Does any one can recommend me a tool that not be the sql profiler , that we can use to be on monitoring at that time and tried or catch what makes that the sql cpu go to 100%, this happens all days at the same time.
Thanks for your time and if there is any way that i can give you more information please tellme
----More Information
Well basically the sql server its a virtual server, at 10:00 am the sql works slower than usually, the ti support that is monitoring the virtual machine , see that cpu starts to raise at that time (10:00 am) and
usually takes 1-2 minutes to back to normally, i had a back up BD log and differencial at that casually was execute at time, i had to change the time and now does not affect at 10:00, when i had this backups the server crashes, because the cpu was not enough,
now i moved the job (back up log adn diff) and the server dont crashes anymore, but still be something at 10:00 that make the cpu raises to the top. by test we disabled mcaffe and even with mcaffe down the server still having the same issue.

• Are there any tools to generate doc plsql like javadoc???

Hi
I want to know if there are any tools or plugin in order to buil-in javadoc with pl/sql code.
Thanks
Edited by: user10388210 on Oct 2, 2008 10:35 PM

For what version?
There are plenty of third-party tools available and there is an excellent built-in with 11gR1.

• How can I do a multiple record data merge, but specify that a specific text frame with variable data only merges on the first record?

I'm doing a multiple record data merge, I have 2 frames both with variable data placed inside.
I would like to specify that one of the text frames only merges once(first record) and the other frame multiple times for each record in the data file.
Is it possible?
I thought that perhaps if I place the text frame that must merge once on the master page, it would work. But you are not allowed to place variable text on the master and on the document page.
I'm going to try it through scripting next, but thought that perhaps there is an easier way that I'm not aware of.
Thanks,
Suzanne

Suzanne,
If you were trying to post a screen shot, you would need to return to the forum and post it using the "camera" icon at the top of the post editing windows.
I use a plug-in from Em Software called InData. One of the benefits for what I do is there are no individual frames on a page to deal with post-merge. Individual frames are great for simple merges (address labels, post cards, etc.). But I typically do more other types of merges.
That said, there is a drawback--one needs to come to an understanding of writing expressions that actually parse the incoming data. So in the spice price list example, that looks like:
It's reasonably easy once one does it a few times. And it can be far more complicated. The above is from Em Software's samples that has been tweaked. The best thing I can recommend would be to download the trial and see for yourself. They are good at responding to specific questions if you get stumped.
I imagine this all could be scripted somehow in ID. But I have no idea how and the plug-in just lets me keep working.

• Any tools to rollback schema change and map new data to old schema?

What is the best way to rollback a schema change, but preserve the data that is in the new schema?
We are updating an application for a customer, however the customer would like to rollback to the old application if after a few days they run into a critical problem.
The application schema is changing - not a lot, but a number of tables will have extra columns.
To rollback, one would have to re-create the original schema and load data into it from the updated schema.
I thought that the Migration toolkit/workbench might have been able to do this for Oracle --> Oracle migrations, but it appears to only support non-Oracle Database migrations to Oracle.
Are there any oracle tools in say OEM or elsewhere that can handle data transformations?

Kirk,
You are correct, the focus of the Oracle Migration Workbench is on non Oracle databases.
I am not aware of a tool that can automatically do what you want, but it should be possible to do what you want. Depending on the version of Oracle they are running, it is now possible to drop columns for example. Your approach would be based on the nature of the changes. Have you looked into the OEM Change Management pack?

You might also post you message to Database General forum.

• Any way to generate a single quote (') with XSLT?

Hi:
I guess this is really an XSLT question. I'm using the Transform() method of an XMLType variable to apply a style sheet. The XML in the variable is just something simple like
<TBL>
<LAST_NAME>LIKE|JONES</LAST_NAME>
<FIRST_NAME>=|MARY</FIRST_NAME>
<AGE>=|50</AGE>
</TBL>
I am trying to get a stylesheet to transform something like the above into SQL such as
Select * from foo where LAST_NAME like 'JONES'
and FIRST_NAME ='MARY'
and AGE = 50But to do this, I need to generate the single quotes around the search terms and I can't get anything but LAST_NAME LIKE 'JONES'. Is there a way to do this? For now I am generating a ~ and replacing ~ for ' throughout the generated SQL text but that's a pretty sorry solution.
I thought that something like <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">&</xsl:text> was going to work but then found out it has been deprecated. I was thinking character-map might work but that's an XSLT 2.0 thing and apparently 10g is on XSLT 1.0? In any case, it had no idea what I was trying to do with a character map.
So, am I overlooking an obvious way to get my stylesheet to insert apostrophes?
Thanks.

It's 10.2.0.4.
Here's the procedure that accepts the XML/XSL clobs and tries to produce a SQL statement.

<!-- Apostrophes will be made tildas and the PL/SQL will translate those to -->
<!-- apostrophes for the final SQL string. -->
<xsl:variable name="apos">~</xsl:variable>
<xsl:template match="/">
select * from
<xsl:value-of select="variable/@table_name"/>
where 1=1
<xsl:for-each select="variable/child::node()">
<xsl:choose>
<!-- if the value node is not null... -->
<xsl:when test="./value/text()[normalize-space(.)]">
<!-- There is another predicate. Add the AND term and the predicate -->
AND <xsl:value-of select="./fieldName"/>
<xsl:text> </xsl:text>
<xsl:value-of select="./criteria"/>
<xsl:text> </xsl:text>
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="string(./fieldType)=''String''">
<xsl:copy-of select="$apos" />
<xsl:value-of select="./value"/>
<xsl:copy-of select="$apos" />
</xsl:when>
<xsl:when test="string(./fieldType)=''Clob''">
<xsl:copy-of select="$apos" />
<xsl:value-of select="./value"/>
<xsl:copy-of select="$apos" />
</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise>
<xsl:value-of select="./value"/>
</xsl:otherwise>

</xsl:when>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:for-each>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>');Basically if the VALUE element has a value then the fieldType is checked. If fieldType is String or Clob then we'll need the apostrophes. For now I'm putting in tildas and changing them later.
