Any trick I can use to purchase from iTunes?

I live in Hong Kong - well it applies to everyone in Asia except those in Japan - and do not have access to iTunes Store. Is there any trick that I can fool the system so that it accepts my credit card and allows me to purchase music and videos from iTunes?

I'm not sure about the legalities of your situation but as long as you have a credit card AND billing address for one of the countries with a store, you can purchase music from that store. I live in germany and used to use the german store (lots of confusion there!!!!). I changed back to the UK one last week since i still have a UK address and cards.
I'm not sure how you stand with the legality of this though. i am sure that "tricking" or "fooling" iTUNES could be construed as 'hacking'.

  • I have an apple id which I have been happily using to purchase from iTunes and it appears on iPad and iPhone. Now I have done something wrong in iCloud and my mobile me Id comes up on iPhone and iPad so I can no longer purchase. What should I do.

I have an apple id which I have been happily using to purchase from iTunes and it appears magically on iPad and iPhone, MacBook and partner's iPod touch. Now I have done something wrong in iCloud and my mobile me Id comes up on iPhone and iPad so I can no longer purchase using this and i can't find a way to reset  What should I do? I want to be able to buy apps from iPhone and iPad from this same account and  still synch with my mac book and share with my partner's iPod touch.
    Any suggestions?

  • Trying to use music purchased from iTunes store with a home movie

I am making a home movie for family use only in either iMovie or Final Cut Pro, but neither app will allow me to use music purchased from iTunes store. Why not? It's not a licensing issue b/c there is no distribution other than my family at a big birthday party. The music imports but acts as if it has no audio once the file is imported to either program. help!
    macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)
    ibook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Put the purchased songs into a playlist. Set iTunes burning options to burn AUDIO CDs. Burn the playlist to an audio CD (you can use a CD-RW if you don't want to waste a blank). After it is done, reimport the tracks off the CD. Now use the reimported versions in iMovie or FCP and they should work fine now.

If you didn't make the purchases, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and made them, then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Using music purchased from iTunes in a slideshow/DVD

I purchased some music from iTunes to use for a slideshow that I am creating. I want to burn this slideshow to a DVD. Is this possible? I read in another forum that it was not. If this is correct, is there a way to work around this issue?

Finding "a way to work around this issue" goes directly against the terms of usage for the forums in terms of discussing ways to get around copy protection methods.
I would offer that my asking for a way to "work around" the problem may not have been the best choice of terms. It is one that is frequently used in other forums when users are discussing how to solve a problem. However, my intent was not to violate either copyright laws or the terms of use of this forum. Certainly it would be very foolish indeed to ask how to do so in a discussions site operated by the same company that produces the software in question!
The DVD I am working on is for personal use, a slideshow of a family vacation. I purchased the music from iTunes to use in the DVD. I am aware that I can burn several CD's (5?) for each song I buy. I concluded, perhaps incorrectly, that this DVD would constitute one of the allowed burns.
Copyrighted music is handled differently depending on which iLife application is being used. With Garageband, it is impossible to import DRM music into the program; any editing is obviously out of the question. Yet, the same musical selection can be imported into iMovie, and it is also possible to edit it.
Perhaps my question should be: Do I have to follow any special procedure when burning a DVD that contains music purchased from iTunes? I remember seeing something about this some time ago; I have not been able to find that post. I was hoping to get the answer in this forum.

  • Can an accidental purchase from iTunes store be cancelled and refunded?

I just purchased an iPad and I am not familiar with the use of my iTunes account from it.
I had a code to download ''The hunger game''  from iTunes for free and I accidentally purchased it as well, but never dowloaded my accidental purchase, as I succeded to enter my code afterwards and download the free copy. However my credit card has been debited anyways. Is there any way to cancel this purchase made by error and never downloaded and obtain a refund?
    Thank you.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • HT1420 How can I control purchases from iTunes?

My kids are downloading songs way too often, without asking permission. I need to set up some sort of password protection. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The iTunes Store always has a password for your account. You may just need to log out of your iTunes Store account when you're not using it, if your kids are sharing a single account, and perhaps change your password if they know it. If they have their own accounts, again you may wish to change the passwords and not let them know the new ones. You can also turn off the iTunes Store completely in the Parental section of the iTunes preferences on your computer. Then they can't buy anything unless you unlock the restriction.
If this is on the iPhone, turn off the ability to install apps and to make "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPhone, and set the password to be required immediately. For more information, see:

  • Any chance I can use PC3200 (ECC) from my PC in my iMac?

I write 'my iMac' with faith, as I don't have one yet, but I'm getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger (and selling my powerbook to finance it). You see, I'm basically poor. I've got an open tab in this very browser for a 2gb kit of Corsair Value Select ($217). I've also considered a single gig stick (bringing me up to an unmatched 1.5gb). Then I had a crazy notion:
"My PC, which I hardly use any more due to the gruesome inferiority of XP to OS X, has 2x512mb PC3200 sticks in it... XP doesn't know what to do with anything more than 512!"
They are both ECC sticks, but my understanding is that ECC can work in non-ECC setups, but not vice versa. If you mobo requires ECC, you need ECC, but the ECC functionality can be not used and it'll work like non-ecc memory. Sorry if that wasn't clear, but I'm pretty sure my current mobo doesn't acknowledge or use ECC, yet my ECC ram is running fine. ECC stands for Error Correcting SOMETHING, btw. Servers often use it, runs a bit slower but more stably than non-ECC. Anyway, I've got two chips, a samsung and a crucial chip, and I'm hoping that IF they'll work at all, that one of them would 'match' whatever 512 chip Apple sends stock. Then I can get by with the iMac running on 1gb.
Am I a crazy cheap-skate? The other thing I considered slyly was 'Why not buy that 2gb kit and stick the spare 512 in the PC - then I can run BitTorrent, Google Earth AND a game at the same time on 1.5gb and stave off upgrading to an Intel iMac for another 6 months (ie. 2008?) because I also have 2gb in my iMac.'
    Thanks for your input.
    Alex
p.s. if anyone knows if the spanning hack has any chance to output to DVI, please let me know - or look at my other post - thanks.

    Alex,
    Apple says:
"Important: DIMMs with any of the following features are not supported in the computer: registers or buffers, PLLs, ECC, parity, or EDO RAM."
However, my understanding of the language "not supported" is that they might work, anyway, but if something goes wrong it's not Apple's fault.
With as many iMacs as are in use, there must be someone else who has tried ECC chips, if they are willing to own up to it:-)

  • I deleted iTunes from my PC, is there any way i can sync my phone to a newly downloaded iTunes without losing my music that wasn't purchased from iTunes?

    BACK-STORY
I recently was given a new iPhone 4S from the Apple Store, I synced it to my PC when I got home and got everything back.I had to uninstall a download of windows 8.1 back to the original windows 8 in order to install an anti-virus software. The only way to uninstall Windows 8.1 is basically a factory reset, by doing so I lost everything that wasn't saved in cloud or external drive.I downloaded iTunes again, signed in and the only thing I could find was the music that I purchased from iTunes. I don't want to connect my phone to the iTunes I just downloaded, because I think I'm going to lose all the music that's already on there, minus the music I bought from iTunes. It's a lot of albums and it took me a while to collect them all too.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE HELP WITH PLEASE
Can I transfer the music on my phone to some type of storage?
    USB memory drive
Cloud ex. Skydrive, Google Drive, Dropbox etc
Store somewhere on my PC. (I know I can't sync from my iPhone to iTunes.)
If it is at all possible to store the music that's already on my iPhone using another method, such as the ones I've mentioned or haven't,can I then transfer it to iTunes?
If there is no way to save my iPhone's music library, then when I rebuild it is there a way to store it, that if the same thing was to happen I wouldn't have to go through this process?
Also, any other tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ALL!!

My kid`s been using my apple ID/account for years, but now that he`s older it`s time he got his own. Is there any way to either make a twin account so he doesn`t lose all his purchases from iTunes/AppStore or does he have to start from scratch? They payment can still be from my card/account, that`s not the problem, but facetime, imessage etc. is a available on both mine and his apple products (I know you can check what email/phone number we can be reached at, but it`s just a click and he see my messages and I his). It`s the privacy problem that is the most important.

He needs to have his own account, the sooner the better.
As for content, non-protected songs can simply be copied to his own new library, and he can use them.  As for protected content and apps, anything he still wants will have to be replaced.

  • HT1451 I used to be able to sync all songs that I downloaded from CDs to my iPad. Now I can only get the songs that were purchased from iTunes.  Can someone tell me why?

I used to be able to sync songs that I imported from CDs into my library onto my iPad and iPad touch. Now I can only sync the purchased from iTunes songs. What has changed?  Do I have to subscribe to iCloud to do this now?

    Hi Cricketdaw,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
iTunes should sync your entire library, and not just songs purchased from the iTunes Store, as mentioned in this article:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
By default, iTunes automatically syncs your entire iTunes library whenever you connect your device to your computer. On each subsequent sync, iTunes will automatically add any new music or videos to the device and remove any items that are no longer in your iTunes Library.

  • How can I play an HD movie purchased from Itunes  on my TV using HDMI connection?

I would like to know how i can play movies purchased in Itunes on my TV using the HDMI cable?   When I try playing HD movies from Itunes I can't play them.  I get the following error:
"To play in HD, you must have a computer with a built in display or have it connected to a display that supports HDCP".
I used to be able to play them before but not anymore.  Not sure why.  Maybe it's due to the new update.  Is there a fix?
