Any waterproof cases for ipod 5g for everyday use?

Any good waterproof cases for ipod touch 5g everyday use?

Hey Avenger1104, I like the Griffin Survivor + Catalyst water tight to 9 feet, and offers shock, dust, weather and scratch protection. Also that a look at the Lifeproof cases. Note; no matter which case you buy it's only as good as it's seals, and there is no warning when or if the seal has failed. Good luck. Cheers.

    You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music.

Why not? What happens when you try? How are you trying to sync them or do you manually manage your iPod's content?  Are you getting any specific error messages from iTunes?

  • Can the new keyboard USB be used for iPod connection for charge & sync'ing?

I have never had an iMac..yet.
Goon buy the new one soon, I was going to get the wireless keyboard but it doesnt include any USB ports like the wired version so because the iMacs USB are put on the back (shouldnt they put on in easy reach on the front?)
Can the iPod be plugged into the keyboards and charged and synced?

Get yourself a [Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port for Macintosh|http://www.provantage.com/belkin-f5u233-apl~7BELU032.htm] to prevent having to reach around to plug/unplug your devices.
I have my keyboard connected in one USB port.
Then I have my printer connected into the second port.
Then a 7 Port Belkin Hub connected in the thrid port.
Then all my cords for iPod, camera's and other devices are connected to the Hub.
Then there's no need to plug/unplug anything but, the device to it's cord and flash drives into that top port.

  • Any reliable cases where larger block sizes are useful?

So I did some googling around to read up on 16kb or larger blocksizes. I found a series of articles by Jonathan Lewis and Richard Foote (plus other DBAs whose posts I trust ) debunking the usage of larger blocksize. I have not been able to find a single article, blog post, forum post, with a legitimate case where a larger block size actually improves performance. Its hard to google this stuff because the good stuff is buried beneath all the trash.
So have any of the Oak Table people and other guys who write articles where they do quality testing find cases where larger block sizes are useful?
I don't have a specific need. I'm just curious. Every time I  look this up I get buried in generic copy and paste blog posts that copy the docs, the generic test cases that were debunked, by the guys above, and other junk. So its hard to look for this.

Lurking in the various things I've written about block sizes there are a couple of comments about using different block sizes (occasionally) for LOBs - though this might be bigger or smaller depending on the sizes of the actual LOBs and the usage pattern: it also means you automatically separate the LOB cache from the main cache, which can be very helpful.
I've also suggested that for IOTs (index organized tables) where the index entries can be fairly large and you don't want to create an overflow segment you may get some benefit if the larger block size typically allows all rows for a give (partial) key value to reside in just one or two blocks.  The same argument can apply, though with slightly less strength for "fat" indexes (i.e. ones you've added columns to in order to avoid visiting the table for very impoartant time-critical queries).  The drawback in these two cases is that you're second-guessing, and to an extent choking, the LRU algorithms, and you may find that the gain on the specific indexes is obliterated by the loss on the rest of the caching activity.

  • DRM for iPod/iTunes for multiple iPods, shared computers

In my family there are four people who use iTunes/iPod. Two are adults with Apple IDs, two are children who do not (and will not) have credit cards. We have two shared Windows XP computers and two shared Mac OS 9 machines. We just got our third iPod. Thus far, the first two iPods have been connected to just one machine (a WinXP; iTunes has been used from just one Windows account, I think) and the third iPod has not yet been connected to any computer. I need a sufficiently general explanation of the DRM scheme and relevant configuration options to understand what I can/should do in this situation. Thanks!

    Hi, Mike.
I need a sufficiently general explanation of the DRM scheme and relevant configuration options to understand what I can/should do in this situation.
The scheme is that songs purchased on any given iTS Account can be authorized for play on a maximum of five separate computers. An iPod can contain items from a maximum of five different iTS accounts at a given time.

  • Wanting to ask for iPod touch for my birthday.

    Hello.
I only sometimes listen to music (Not a big fan of anything today, Most of it's crappy imo) but I love games, Like on my PC and Xbox 360, And I know iPod touch can download games and stuff, But is there anything you can play with against other people online? Like online multiplayer? Sorry is this isn't the right forum, I just want to get it anwsered quickly. Thanks in advance

yes there are many games like that, but your going to have to look for them. and btw iphone os 3.0 will allow to connect to another iphone or ipod touch through bluetooth so you'll be able to play with each other directly. it's called peer to peer, it's kind of like the nintendo ds. 3.0 comes out this summer.

  • Can you switch ur ipod 4 for ipod 5 for 100 more dollars?

i really want to know before my warrenty finshes in november
    helllllllpppp

There is a trade in program at some Apple stores but that is usually on the order of 10% of the value of the new device, so your $100 price point does OT work.  You can check with your Apple store to see if they are participating and the amount.
It is usually more profitable to sell yourself, such as on eBay.

  • Ipod shuts down everyday using ITrip when driving

I have an 80gb Ipod Video Classic I am using in my car with a Griffith Itrip so I can play my Ipod through my FM radio.
This started happening a few weeks ago. About every 10 minutes or so when driving my Ipod will shut down saying I have to do a restore or it will say I have no battery power (after I just gave it a full charge). I have to reset it. It will stay frozen on the black and white apple screen.
I have tried upgrading my ITunes, updated the software on my Ipod, and have done two factory restores only for the problem to happen to me everyday when driving to work.
NOTE: this Only happens when I am connected to ITrip. I have no problems at all with my Ipod at any other time, only when driving and connected to ITrip. Anyone seen this or have any suggestions?

Do you have a wall power plug for your ipod? It sounds like it has run dead enough to where the usb ports arent giving the amount of power it needs to charge.

  • Waterproof case with FM Transmitter

Not sure where to ask this or if it even exists... was wondering if there was a waterproof case for an Ipod 160 Gig that could house or has a fm transmitter built in.
I'm looking at a hot tub and it has a built in sound system and thought it would be so much cooler instead of listening to the radio or CD to actually listen to the Ipod risking it getting wet.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi,
Sony does not have any waterproof case that would enable you to control the camera settings under water. The case would only enable you to press the record button located at the back. We don't recommend using the SPKAS2 case for under water shoots deeper than 16 ft.
We appreciate the suggestion to add controls to the MPKAS3 case. We will forward this to the engineering department.
For further assistance with your concern, we recommend visiting our Sony Global Web site for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/.

  • Any good recommendations for a waterproof case?

I'm looking for a good waterproof case that isn't too heavy, but that it's also rugged.
I haven't been able to find one that is completely waterproof.
    Thanks

I was going to suggest the Otterbox Armor case as well. BUT I suggest you go to their website and read the specs on the case. I ordered the case and unfortunately am returning it ONLY because the only way to use the phone while in the case is either with blue tooth, head phones or on speaker. The reason being is that in order to be able to keep the phone's headphone jack protected, they have a built in adapter (inside the case) that there is no choice but to hook the iPhone up to thus making it so that the phone's headphone jack is always plugged up, not allowing you to talk on the phone the "regular" way (as in hearing the conversation through the ear piece). The headphone jack on the outside of the case allows you to connect to the phone without leaving a way for any water to get into the phone.
I hope you understand what I've described, it's a weird concept and difficult to describe (obviously) but I guess it was the only way they allowed access to the iPhone's head phone jack without compromising the case's waterproof feature.
I didn't want to have to use my blue tooth ear piece or headphones every single time I wanted to use the phone and because of the protective membrane over the speaker it muffled the sound a bit while on speaker so I just decided to return it and get my $70 back.
I hope this helps and that I haven't cornfused you too much =0/
