Any WavePad users?

Hi.
Recently I downloaded WavePad to tidy up a few tracks by giving them a fade out instead of then ending abruptly. However, it seems I can't export them back into iTunes in the native m4a format once they've been edited. By labelling them mp3 everything works okay and iTunes accepts them.
It is then possible to convert the mp3 files back to ACC with the button in the iTunes Advanced menu, but it all seems so cumbersome.
My questions are:
1. Is it me, or is there no way to get iTunes to accept the m4a format directly from WavePad, and
2. Does it matter anyway? Is there any difference in quality between m4a and mp3 quality?
Hope the above makes sense to a fellow WavePad user.

Any new user creation gets: unable to log into user account error

Anyway, running an xserve managing all network accounts (only local accounts are a local admin on each system). DNS checks out and all current users can log in fine. However, it seems any new user I create keeps getting this wonderfully ambiguous error. I've tried Guest (but figured it probably interfered with the Guest Account), Student (but thought it might be interfering with a group of the same name), Guest Student, and Temp User.

Just making sure, you have selected the home location, and then actually pressed the "Create home" button? I have missed it few times and then wondered why it is not working. Then check the home folder location that it is actually there and created successfully.

Are there any Mac user groups in central Louisiana?

I was wondering if there are any Mac user groups in central Louisiana.
I live in Alexandria and would like to meet any fellow Mac or i Mac users in this area.
Also, does anybody know where to get a power supply for an older i Mac?
Mine was built/bought new in 2008. It quit one day and will not turn on at all.
With what help there is around here, it is a Windows area, the problem was traced
to a dead power supply. The nearest Apple store is about 120 miles from me in
Baton Rouge. If there is a good online source for parts, please let me know.

Hello Guru's!
I'm having an issue with connecting/using EULs on Disco 10g - I have already installed 10g Admin and configured 2 EULs and also imported the sample data - they are all owned by DISCO user -
When I connect to http://discoserver:7778/discoverer/viewer, I get a connection screen - no connections are listed, so I click create connection - I give it a name, put in disco as my user, put my password in, put db_connect_string into the appropriate field, where db_connect_string is my actual connect string - and it gives me this error:
Error
Authentication Failed.
(You do not have access to any End User Layer tables)
I have access to these, as I'm the EUL owner - I've also tried this tho with other users that I have granted access to in the admin too (I've even granted access to these EULs to public - still no luck) - should I be using the db user and password or are there other places in 10g that I set up disco users?
If I should be using the db user and pass, why won't it see my EULs?

Hopefully CupJr got his answer as it's been over 2 years!
However, if you're having the same problem ...
1. is this an Apps EUL and you're connecting as a database user (ie: the owner of the EUL)?
2. have you set the gateway connection info correctly (again if an Apps EUL)? - found at: Tools -> Options -> Connection.

In disco plus I get the follg error:
a)You do not have access to any end user Layer tables
This is despite the fact that my userid/passsword combination@databaseid has acess to all tables in Oracle sqlplus SQL*Plus: Release 8.0.6.0.0 -
Connected to:
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.1.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning option
JServer Release 8.1.7.1.0 - 64bit Production
Please reply ASAP if anyone has any ideas

Have u created a EUL for your user through Administration Edition.
If not login as a user who has DBA rights and create EUL for your user.

When I created a EUL using Discoverer admin, and also created a business area successfully, then I can't logon using same username in Discoverer desktop, My Discoverer version is 4.1.37. when I logon, I received error message read: You don't have access to any End User Layer table.
Could someone please give me some instruction, or guide me to do something.

You should not be able to connect to an Apps mode EUL as an end user in the end user tools.
As for administration, you need to log in as the owner of the EUL, a database user, and then assign admin rights to an Apps account. Many companies use the SYSADMIN Apps account for this purpose. After you have assigned an Apps user to have admin rights don't forget to grant that user admin privileges over each of your business areas.,
With this done you should then manage your Discoverer administration using the Apps account.

Since upgrading to the new 2.0 iPhone software 3 weeks ago, I have been unable to send or receive my e-mails via my pop account from 'Plusnet'. I wondered if anyone had the settings they could kindly pass on to me as I am slowly losing the will to live here. Apple have been unable to help, as have Plusnet so far. Thought I'd try here?!?!

resource_limit parameter in initprod.ora file is set to FALSE.
Now first of all I need to alter resource_limit paratmeter to TRUE with scope=both.
Then need to create a new profile and define sessions_per_user 3.
My question is that whether I have to define all default profile resources in the new profile or not?
Do I need to grant create_session priviliges to every user after assigning new profile?

Is the AppleID listed in Settings --> Store and Settings --> iCloud the same?
If it is a totally different ID and not a slight variation of yours, I would definitely take it back to the store. You may have bought a returned item that had been setup previously.

Reinstalling OS X doesn't affect user data, provided nothing goes wrong. But it would be very unwise to assume that nothing will go wrong, especially if you're having (unspecified) system issues. You should try to back up all data before you reinstall or do anything else. There are ways to do that, even if you're unable to boot.
If your backups include only user files, you won't be able to access them in Setup Assistant.

How to get session vars of another or any current user

We all should know that the syntax session.varname will get or set a session variable for the one user currently making the request.
But can we write a method to get the session structure for ANY given user, when provided with a valid identifier like sessionID?

Ah HA! I knew there was a way, it was just a matter of not knowing the magic phrase to search for (kinda like learning ActionScript).
Plain web service calls work just fine, but when my Flex app makes a Remote Object call to a cfc, my ColdFusion API always triggers onSessionStart, and has no apparent knowledge of the session variables that are already there for this Flex user (like the ones authorizing access to the API).
I figured the fix was to provide the sessionID in my initial LogIn method, keep that on the Flex side, then pass it back in the RO call - where sessionTracker could dig up the needed info?
Or my RO setup is just missconfigured?
