Any way to "bookmark" a place in a song (or save play location for resume)?

Hi all,
So .. I'm listening to an audio book .. each track is 50 minutes long. I plug my ipod touch in (USB cable) to charge the battery and maybe sync with more music. When I unplug it and want to resume my audio book, it's lost its location, and I have to manually find where I left off.
Is there any way to get it to remember where it left off? Or set some bookmark before I plug it in?

found this in other forums...looks like im not the only one....
Images of cracked open iPod touch 2g reveal that it has a cleaner signal path from the digital-analog-converter (DAC) chip to the line-out jack, so the problem, such as it is, appears to be with the Cirrus chip Apple used for the touch 2g as opposed to the Wolfson chip found in the 5G/5.5G iPods.
Everyone's ears are different, but Heijligers' test found three problem areas:
- A slight uplift in treble [boosted high frequencies]
- A group delay that depends on frequency [fuzzy 3D image]
- A strong modulation with 22.1k, causing intermodulation distortion [distortion]

  • Any way to read out (via USB) what song I was playing? (nano pl

I'm a big fan of radio dramas and audio books. This means listening to hundreds of hours of MP3 in a row - too much to stuff on my measly 256MB Creative zen nano plus, but that's not a problem, occasionally I just stick it in and remove all tracks I have heard and add the newer few, till the thing is full.
However, I read an article (in a magazine) about automated USB tasks on linux, for example automatically empty your photocamera when you plug it in. I'd like to use the same task for the mp3 player, but then I have two options:
. listen up all tracks, then transfer new files
    2. transfer tracks when I'm not yet ready
means I'll be out of audio halfway my commute - no fun (radio doesn't well work in the train)
2 means I need to know what I was listening to - something the nano does as it remembers this data on poweroff. I was hoping this data would be written to some kind of .ini-file, but haven't been able to find it, so it might have some bits of non-filesystem flash for this.
Any idea whether the "currently playing track X"-data is stored and whether it is accessible over USB (on linux)
    Thanks in advance, Tijmen

P.S. It is not a problem when this means installing a firmware hack or something like that.

I've copied my itunes library onto an external hard drive.  Is there any way I can do this and delete songs from my PC without also deleting from the external drive? Already lost two songs!!!  I just want a back up - using a work PC and don't want others accessing my songs.  Hope someone can help.  Thanks!

I see. To get a better idea of what is being stored where please download and run the script iTunesInfo which should output something like this:
I'm interested in the block of 4 results starting ITL location. If your profile name shows up somewhere replace it with <Name>.  It is also worth checking under Edit > Preferences > Advanced to see where iTunes thinks your media is supposed to go. My script estimates the setting based on the location of the first media file it can actually find.

Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

No.  Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days.  Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.
Even though the horse is out of the barn the following tutorial might be of help for future books, i.e. create a new library for each book): iP08 - Archiving an iPhoto Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

    Yes.
You should have copied everything from the old computer to the new one.
Type "move itunes library" into the google search bar

  • I have a password protected Numbers document I created on my MAC and share via DROPBOX. Is there any way to simply view this doc on my IPAD without purchasing NUMBERS for the IPAD?

I use NUMBERS on my MAC to create a password protected document.  I share this doc via DROPBOX.  Is there any way I can view the doc on my IPAD without purchasing NUMBERS for the IPAD?  The doc opened fine on the IPAD before protecting it with a password.

Using the term "opened" may have been incorrect on my part.  Before password protection, I simply viewed the doc by selecting it within my DROPBOX app.  No revisions could be made, but I could view the doc.    Now, with the doc password protected, the IPAD states this file can not be viewed.
The IPAD users guide gives a list of files IPAD can view. Unfortunately, I find no info on how to open/view that file should it be protected. If

Any way to get all users's user profile proeprty using CSOM c# for sharepoint online - office 365?

Since CSOM provides methods for operations related to people per
user scope, you could retrieve all site users first using SP.Web.siteUsers
    property. and then use SP.UserProfiles.PeopleManager.getUserProfilePropertyFor
    Method to get property.

This is the iPod Touch forum.
Note that the artwork associated with your albums is probably less than 1% of the size of your media files themselves.

  • When closing multiple tabs, is there any way to get back the option of saving those tabs OR NOT for your next session, within the warning dialogue box itself?

For brief period of time, not in FF4, there was the option whereby when I closed multiple tabs, a firefox dialogue box opened warning me that I'm about to close multiple tabs, '''AND ALSO''' asking me if wanted to save those tabs for my next session, or trash them.
The primary issue IS NOT about saving tabs. The primary question here is about getting THE OPTION back to the CLOSING MULTIPLE TABS WARNING DIALOGUE.
The use case here should be obvious. However, since it is clearly not obvious that different people work in a variety of ways, and neither of those methods of working is "wrong" or "right" I will elaborate: Some people, for whatever reason, it doesn't matter why, want to save all their tabs on some occasions, and on other occasions don't.
This preference varies throughout the day. Therefore it is inefficient to constantly go to preferences and change whether or not I want firefox to open all my tabs from my last session. It is more LOGICAL to place an option in the multiple tab warning dialogue as well, for people whose preference constantly changes.
This option was available for a time in most of the Firefox 3 versions. Is there any way to get back this option in Firefox 4?

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no need for asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.
You can set the warn prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page to <b>true</b> via the right-click context menu or toggle the value with a double left-click.

To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

Is there any way that you can delete APPS that come on the iPad 2 when you buy it? For example, the stock app, can you delete that or is it permanently on there?

You cannot delete the preinstalled apps on the iPad. You can check by tapping and holding down on the icon until it wiggles. If no X appears, you cannot delete it.
Move it to another screen or bury it in a folder called" Stuff I don't Want"

  • Is there any way to embed chord information in a song?

Can Logic Pro X embed 'chord change' information in a song in some way?  For example, is there an a simple obvious way, like a 'chord information global  track',  that I'm overlooking?  Or is there a more convoluted way to get chord information in a song, somehow using the 'Environment'?
This seems like a very basic necessity of a DAW for composers, so I must be overlooking something?
We all agree, right, that this is basic western music theory: chords form the structure of songs?  (A music philosophy question.)  For instance, a human 'voice instrument' can sing the melody, but the polyphonic instrument brings the support structure.
So when we record a song, it is not atypical to associate a chord tablature with a score.  Indeed, it is often the case that only a chord tablature is provided, and is quite sufficient in itself, to carry a song.
So where is the ability to read (i.e., CONVEY and INTERPRET with Midi/OSC exchange) chord tablature in Logic Pro?  This is supposedly a 'Pro' application, right?  So Logic can read a song 'position', with markers, whereby a secondary app can take that marker position to que song location [e.g., song position (i.e., marker notated) can be recognized by an application like MainStage to quickly switch to various song locations, like the 'intro' or 'chorus'].  So with a change in song 'position', a song will typically have a change in song 'chord structure'.  Therefore if the Midi instrument can recognize (without human intervention) this embedded (notated) 'chord structure' (which I'm having trouble finding), it should be able to change the Midi notes it is playing to properly accompany the song's 'chord structure'.
Because what I just described should be somewhat obvious and intuitive to professional musician/composers, where in Logic Pro is the ability to embed 'Chord Structure' information, that I evidently am overlooking?  Hopefully, some of the experienced 'pros', like Nigel, will chime in here.

The only workaround is to use the Score Editor with the the Chord Symbol and have a separate window open with it. Not a pretty solution, but at least something
... is that Chord Symbol information available for 'Midi Interpretation'? Can one somehow use it to alter the Midi notes being triggered by their Midi controller? That is, can Logic (or MainStage or...?) use that Chord Symbol information, through conveyance of interpretive Midi messages? (Sorry if this has an obvious answer, to someone already familiar with what you describe.)
This is what I've found so far on the Score Editor Chord Symbol:
    https://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=31%26se ction=16
"Chord symbols are text objects designed for fast chord entry."
Based on that info, I doubt (but don't yet know for sure) whether they can translate over into the Midi realm for song structure composition/editing.
(Note, that link is to the Logic Pro 9 user manual, and I have yet to find a reference that succinctly and unbiasedly informs the reader what features APPLE HAS REMOVED from Logic Pro X. )

  • Is there any way to stop links from redirecting me based on my country location?

This issue has been addressed tons of times (mostly dealing with Google), but with no satisfactory results. I realize the heart of the problem may lie with my internet provider, but I can't believe there isn't some way to force Firefox to go directly to the link you click on without redirecting. I tried changing the geo.enabled about:config preference to false, but that didn't work. I also tried to reduce the redirects in one of the preferences (can't remember which now) from 20 to 1, but then I just got an error message on the browser saying firefox could not complete the action, even though the correct web address showed up in the URL bar. Any answers? And please don't say to update my plugins!!!!!
