Any way to capture the DOMAIN in a system variable that can be used in WebI or Universe?

Hi. This really is an irritation. The @VARIABLE('USERDOMAIN') works fine in DeskI, but in WebI, one is prompted for the user's domain.
Why is this? Is there a fix for this?
The use of the USERDOMAIN is quite important to us in solving some security issues. The BOUSER and BOPASS seems to work OK
Please can someone advise?

No official way to do this.
AppleTV 2/3 are configured for services Apple and their commercial partners have allowed.
Best you could do would be to find an app on iOS for one of those services and Airplay to AppleTV (or from a modern Mac running Mountain Lion), however many streaming services seem to limit video Airplay to audio only. Not sure about those you listed.

Which times are you talking about? Deployment start times or deadlines? Those could be set to UTC *or* client local time.

Any way to recover objects in SYSTEM without a backup?

All,
I have a backup of one of our boxes but it is dated - this is a non-production system so, though, I'm sweating, it is not critical.
Today, one of our guys accidently dropped a bunch of objects in the SYSTEM schema. I have no way of knowing how much damage there has been but users are no longer able to login to the SYSTEM account or user accounts. I am able to get access to SYS.
Here's my question ...
[1] Is there any way to rebuild all the objects in the SYSTEM schema only?
[2] If I can't do that, is there any way to get the data dictionary for a specific user schema? I don't necessarily need the transactional data but having the ddl would be a great help.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'll take a look at the scripts.The catalog and catproc scripts might be your best bet.
As far as getting the schema objects out, you can try export or data pump to export only object without data. Unfortunatly, they may not work if they need object owned by SYSTEM that are not present.

I have been working in flash and I wanted to know whether there is any way at all of calling/accessing captivate 4 variables from flash (I'm working in flash Cs4 Actionscript 3.0 and I'm trialling Captivate 4, but I just want to know whether there is any way/method of communicating between a flash file and a captivate 4 file, and if so, can this be done with an embedded captivate 4 file/swf). Surely there must be a way of communicating between the two - they are both Adobe products!

FM9: Any way to auto-close the insert-variable window?

Is there any way to have the FM9 variable window automatically close after one selects a variable using the Enter key? I'm finding it cumbersome after calling it up via key commands to have to pick up the mouse and click somewhere just to close the window, or "fly" back into the side panel.

after youve called the contact and it opens with their name again just tap cancel on top right of screen and it puts you back to the first person in your contacts list.
its the only way ive found out how to close the cotacts name.

Any way to totally wipe your system to basic settings?

I recently switched from a iMac G5 to a iMac Core Duo and am now selling my old computer. The only problem is, that I've lost the original Tiger DVD's that came with the computer. Is there any way to totally bring my computers OS back to it's original state without using an installation DVD? Wipeing out all of my settings and files.

You would have to do this by starting up in single user mode since you would need to wipe out all user accounts. This involves the use of the UNIX command line & a deep understanding of the file structure, since you will also need to remove many preferences, caches, etc. from Library & System folders, yet leave the iMac in a bootable state.
However, this won't necessarily bring the drive back to its original state. Any file problems & upgrades you have applied will still be there. Plus, the buyer won't have a whole Mac or any way to do routine repairs that require booting from the installer.
It might be worth it to contact Apple about getting a replacement DVD set, which would not only allow you to wipe the drive & restore the OS to its original state but give you a much more salable product.

Not so far as I know, into a text file. The History is not included in the metadata you can write out to XMP, so it cannot be extracted from there. The History is embedded in a Catalog only.
But it would be possible to Export as Catalog one sample image - or, a group of the images concerned. Your friend could open this very small catalog, and view the full History of what has been done to the selection of images it contains.
Note: the History panel is only available in the Develop module, and you can only get into Develop when the image is not "offline". So your friend would need to get the right picture file(s) referenced into this small Catalog you supply. That can be done by re-browsing the location of the containing folder - so, it is not necessary for the images to be physically living at the same path in both computers..
More simply, by writing the final metadata out to the file, and sending the file along with its metadata, at least the finished adjustments can be looked at directly. You only need the Catalog with the History in order to see the sequence - and any changes of mind or explorations that have happened along the way.
The sequence in which you set nondestructive adjustments does not technically matter; the Catalog method would mainly be of interest, to see an example of your working approach. The nice part about that, is that your friend could click through the History states and see how the image changes on screen - while also watching the sliders, tone curve etc moving around with each new step.

Is there any way to login to a system running Solaris 10 if you do not have the login credentials?

I am trying to help a company that has inherited a Sunfire v245 running Solaris 10. It is connected to a RAID array that contains backup files for a branch that was closed. Is there any way to configure domain name in place of IP address for "Peer VPN device"

When I configure site to site vpn on asa it asks for the ip address for the remote vpn device and it works pretty fine if I confgure like this.
The problem is that the remote vpn device does not have static IP address, it changes on every reboot. I have configured Dymamic DNS for the interface but the problem is ASA does not take domain name as the "peer vpn device" address.
Is there any work around for this issue so that I don't need to configure vpn from scratch everytime the ip address of the remote device changes.
P.S. ASA vpn configuaration also does not allow me to change just the ip address of the remote device in the VPN configuration, I have to delete the current vpn and confgure a new one from the sratch everytime the ip address changes.

yes you can set a hostname in the 'crypto map set peer' command insetad of IP address, however, the ASA will resolve that name only once it is applied, hence, it will take the IP that name currently holds, and if it changes, it will not update it.
the easy solution for your case is to use static-to-dynamic L2L configuration. on your ASA, configure a dynamic crypto map, assign it to the static crypto map you have, and then add the pre-shared key to the Default L2L tunnel-group.
an example is given below:
crypto dynamic-map dyn_map set transform-set
crypto map VPN ipsec-isakmp dynamic dyn_map
tunnel-group DefaultL2LGroup ipsec-attributes
pre-shared-key
this way, you must initiate the tunnel from behind the remote device (not your ASA where the dynamic crypto map is configured) and it should work fine.

Any way to capture scrolling marquee text and boxes that are automatically populated?

Using Captivate 5.5 on Windows XP.
I'm trying to record a demo that has a marquee at the top of the window that scrolls to the left (sort of like that marquee in Times Square). Is there any setting that would capture that scrolling action?
Also, we have screens that are completed by the system based on a user's selections on a previous page. The system completes those fields quickly, but one at a time. Is there a setting that would show each of those fields being completed?

Only using FMV full motion capture would capture your scrolling marquee.
If the fields are being completed so quickly by the system that neither the automated Captivate capture picks them up and you cannot capture them manually, then use FMV for that as well. Just set your preferences to 32bit FMV. The 16 bit video capture almost always looks wrong.

Any way to capture a still frame as an image in Imovie HD? "Create Still Frame" just gives me short MOV files

I'm trying to export a still from a project I'm working on so I can add some things to it in photoshop before importing it back in to the imovie project.
It's from the end of a clip I have. I know I could just use grab and take a screen capture but the quality would be awful.
Imovie HD has this feature, "Create Still Frame" and when I google this problem all the answers tell me to use that.
HOWEVER: When I do use Create Still Frame, instead of giving me a JPG I can use or another image format, it creates a short 5 second .mov clip of the still. If I wanted it in movie format I'd just use the original clip, what I need is an image format!
There doesn't seem to be an option anywhere to change what type of still frame format it uses. There must be a way to do this however, all the answers I've found say it should be JPG and I should be able to locate it then in the project package - what am I doing wrong?

First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
