Any way to change default treatment of placed graphics?

Every time I insert a graphic into an iWeb page, the default is for it to have a 6-point line stroke around it. I don't want this stupid stroke and must manually change that setting.
Is there some way to tweak iWeb's default so that it doesn't apply this?
Furthermore, the default width of inserted graphics is 300 pixels. Again, I don't want this as the default. Can I change it?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am dropping pictures of banknotes into a blog page. I don't have the luxury of changing to a blank page design. I need to use blog entry pages.
Apple should heed the advise of user interface experts and retain settings as they were left by the user. In this case, I never want to have a stroke around a picture, but every time I insert one into the page, iWeb insists on putting it there.
That's infuriating. Obviously this is a preference item that doesn't have an exposed preference setting in the UI. I was hoping someone here could tell me how to tweak the preference file directly.

  • Any way to change default point where iTunes creates thumbnail for videos?

Is there any way to change the default point in time where iTunes creates its own auto-generated thumbnail previews for videos when you drag them into your Library and view them all using the "Movies" section in the left panel?
So when you look at them all using Cover Flow view, for example.
I know you change the thumbnail for each video after the fact, or even batch-add thumbnail artwork for several videos at once, but that's not what I'm after...
I have a WHOLE LOAD of videos that are non-sensically named (Y1_D1-4, etc.), and I want to import them all into iTunes.
Of course I will also need to change the NAMES of these movies as well.
They are actually TV shows, which illustrates the following point:
What all these "movies" have in common is that their intro sequences are all EXACTLY the same length, before they then show the title of the particular show.
Now, if I could get iTunes to use this point in time as it's setting for creating default thumbnails, that would help me in two ways:
Firstly, it would create the thumbnail that I want, and secondly, it would also show me the title of the show, so I could easily re-name the file there and then, without having to scrub back and forth, to find the name of the show.
    Any clues anyone...?

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but you can speed up what you're doing by pressing the "return" key after the first click instead of pausing, then clicking a second time.

  • Is there any way to change default background from bmp in Captivate 7 recordings?

Any time I make a recording, be it demo, training etc it always saves the captured background as a bmp in the library.
I can manually export, edit, then reimport each of the files as jpgs, which looses no quality but reduces the size of the published file by about 50%, and the project file itself by about 80%.
Is there a way to change the default capture mode to save me this massive chore each time I record a project? or some other way around it?

I have noticed this too, i.e. the captured background is BMP, and the capture images are PNG. For example, my command line terminal window backgrounds are 4070.57K versus about 32K to 65K when I convert them to PNG files. Our demonstration files can be enormous because of the BMP backgrounds. It would definitely be advantageous to have a recording setting for PNG versus BMP for the backgrounds in Captivate.

I'd like to move thing around on the page. Is there any way?
I'd also like to make a whole picture that is in the ratio of 2x3 print that way, but the program crops the ends to fill the space. Is there some way? (If I just add white to the top and bottom of the file will it print some kind of very light white there?

  • Photoshop CS5 HDR Toning - Any Way to Change Defaults?

I've been fooling with the Image > Adjust > HDR Toning... feature, and as long as one keeps the settings relatively conservative, the tool produces good results with little downside.  It's really great for a landscape with a bright sky and dark trees.
However, the system defaults are pretty nasty...  +20% Color Saturation?  Now admittedly, the garish color DOES remind me to change the settings.
I've created my own settings and saved them as "Noels Defaults", but I don't see an obvious way to make these settings the default when the HDR Toning tool first starts up.
I admit, it's not a huge deal to select my own settings from the drop down list at the start of the run, but who, in the 21st century, programs a dialog without making the settings "sticky" or at least providing a way to set a better default?  At least it remembers where I put it.
If you know a way I'm not thinking of to change the defaults for HDR Toning it'll save me a step and help me keep my mind on the editing job rather than on the editor.
    Thanks.

    Hi PonchoSloth13,
You may download the English version installer from: http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html and install it on you machine as a trial. However you will not be able to activate it with a German Language key. To activate the software in English you require English version key.

  • Is there any way to change default mail arrived sound on my ipad2 ?

Both my wife and I have iPads, which both announce 'new mail' with same sound!
I have tried changing all my sound settings to 'Sherwood Forest', but 'new mail' is still the same sound!
    Any suggestions?
    Mike

    Bob,
As my post says, changing to 'Sherwood Forest' did NOT change sound of 'new mail'.
New Mail is still announced with original sound, whatever that is. As this is same as wife's iPad Mini, neither of us know who has new mail. Which is reason I wish to change mine!

  • Is there any way to change the default font for outgoing text-messages, in "Messages"? (OSX 10.10)

Is there any way to change the default font for outgoing text-messages, in "Messages"?
I can change it for one conversation, but then it resets to the default, tiny font.
The preferences menu only lets me change the conversation font.
    (OSX 10.10)

    Hi,
As you may remember there used to be a Messages pane to the Preferences where the Font and colour of the Balloons or background and the Font text colour could be changed.
And there was a Format Menu for character, word and Sentence changes in the current IM or iMessage.
Those have gone in Yosemite's version of Messages (Despite it retaining the designation of Messages 8 the same as Mavericks' version).
All that can be done now is set the size of the font and this has been moved to the General Section of the Preferences.
The Yosemite version has also been fixed to using the Balloons style of send and receiving any type of messages as well.
Changing the Font would involved editing the Balloon.transcript file.

  • Is there any way to change the default AWR thresholds?

    Hi Gurus,
Is there any way to change the default thresholds or attributes of AWR reports for a database?
I have a requirement to change threshold for the SQL statements reported based on sharable memory.
    *"SQL ordered by Sharable Memory"*
By defaults it reports statements only above 1Mb (I think it is in Bytes). So I can find only one statement being reported in this category or some times even nil.
*"Only Statements with Sharable Memory greater than 1048576 are displayed"*
It would be great help for me if you guys can help me out as we have issues related to memory often.
    Thanks and regards

  • Airport turns off after restart. Any way to change this preference?

I recently upgraded to 10.4.4 from 10.3.9. Whenever I restart my computer the airport by default is switched off and i have to manually select the network i want to join. Its a small detail, but previously in 10.3.9 the airport would stay on if it was switched on prior to the restart. Is there any way to change this preference or is this just the way airport is set up in 10.4.4?

  • Any way to change back button title without creating new button?

    Hi,
Is there any way to change the back button title on a navigation controller without having to create a whole new button and action to go with it?
    Thanks
    Ray

Yes, you don't need to create a new a new action mechanism etc.
One way to change the back button text on a the navbar of a view is to create a new UIBarButtonItem (with nil tagget and nil action )
Then set self.navigationItem.backBarButtonItem of the parent view controller to the new button
Note that you're setting the backbarButtonItem of the parent view controller (and not the view controller on which this bar button will be displayed). This automatically plugs in the default target, action etc. So you don't need to implement it

I'm converting a small application in C# / .net that runs on several other databases to HANA.
The escaped double quote thing is pretty painful - is there any way to change the default literals from double to single quote on the connection or though the driver or otherwise?
    Thanks -- Chad

    Hi Chad
can you please provide an example of what runs with other DBMS but doesn't with SAP HANA?

That issue can be caused by the AVG Safe Search extension
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it has the same (bad) behavior on two different systems then there is a very good chance that the  drive is toast.
BTW you'll get better response to your questions if the question actually reflects the problem you are having. In this case it would have been better to say you couldn't access the drive rather then that it doesn't show on the desktop.

  • Hi at the moment my ipod is on manual sync mode. Is there any way of changing this to auto-sync without losing the music on my ipod or library? Possibly more importantly is there a way I can transfer the ratings from my ipod onto my i-tunes?

This is so I can delete music from my ipod knowing its rated on my i-tunes so I can then see later if I want to re-add it based on its rating
    Thanks

    Unfortunately there is not.

Not without the help of third party software such as this one:
