Any way to dock the ZEN without it charging every ti

I wish I could make the player not charge itself everytime I connect it to the PC. This will kill the battery in the long run. Most of the time at least, it is good for such batteries to completely use them up and then fully charge them. Partial charging all the time is really bad, and I am uploading new songs to the ZEN all the time. So does anybody know a way to upload songs without charging the player?

The memory problem issue is not relevant in today's time and age although it is not a bad idea to fully discharge the battery at least once a month.
As to your issue, I believe the player is made to charge each time you plug in the player provided it is not already fully charged. Since the advise was to plug the Zen directly to the USB port or through a self-powered hub, you might want to go against that and if you have a non-self powered USB hub to try plugging the Zen through there. This way, the non-self powered hub would probably not supply enough current to charge the Zen but probably just enough to recognize it. I have not tried that but it is worth the experiment if you have one of those usb hub lying around.

  • Is there any way to handle the navigation without defining it in faces-conf

    hi,
I am new to JSF and I got lots of information from this forum. My new query is given below,
Is there any way to handle the navigation without defining it in faces-config.xml file? That means i want to navigate to a destination page programatically from the java class rather than declaring it it faces-config.xml file.
Your help and suggestions are hightly appreciated...
    Thanks and regards,
    Sudheesh K S

JSF as defaault looks your *-config.xml files in your web.xml configuration or default faces-config.xml file. If do not use default look third party tools like seam or others....

  • HT201328 Is there any way to unlock the phone without upgrading to ios6?

    Hi,
I really don't want to upgrade to ios6 due to the crap maps but I am changing network and have requested the phone to be unlocked.
My current carrier has told me that the phone will be unlocked when I connect to itunes, which I have done (and sync'd).
Is there any way to tell if it is now unlocked without getting another sim card?
Is it a requirement to update the phone to unlock it.
    Thanks,
    Cill
PS - I know you can get google maps 'app' on the home screen, but I've seen it and its no where near as good as what I have. Currently on ios5.1.1

    Nope, read here:

  • I want to install apps from itunes to my ipod and manage them manually but there is only one option to do that replaces my apps on ipod with apps in my itunes library . Is there any way to install the apps without replacing them??

I want to install apps using itunes from my pc but there is only on option for doing that i.e. itunes replace the installed apps with apps on itunes. Is there any other way for doing that without replacing my apps ???

Ipod touch will sync with one computer at a time.  If you sync to another then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

  • Is there any way to play the metronome without recording?

Sometimes I just want to sit and get the beat in my head first...The "count in" feature doesn't really give me enough time.
P.S.- Hangtime, if you answer this question, I want to personally thank you for all your advice...I just bought a 49 key midi player today and am messing around with it right now!

Glad to hear that your happy with the controller (mine is 4 years old now and i'm still very pleased with it)
the best way to accomplish what you want to to create a click track. that way the "count-in" can be any length you desire, 2 bars, 3 bars, or 10 bars:

  • Any way of turning the Zen Vision:M screen backlight off

I've just bought a Zen Vision:m, which is fantastic apart from one thing. The backlight for the main screen doesn't turn off after a few seconds, only the lights behind the buttons do. You can reduce the brightness of the screen, but that's about all.
I just wondered if there's a way to get it to turn off after a few seconds, or if there's an option that I've missed somewhere?

Once the player is playing slide the power switch to lock position and the display turns off.

  • Any way to change the ZEN (not Zen) background images to my o

title says it all. the player has six choices, it would be nice to know how to change them to my own pictures if that is possible.

Upload your pictures to your ZEN, find the picture you want to use as background in the Photos menu, hit the menu button (top right)?while that picture is displayed on the screen, then scroll down the options until you see 'Set as Wallpaper' and make that selection. That's all there is to it.

  • HT1583 When burning a DVD of photos and music from iDVD, the photos blur right before the transitions and the music has about 5 second glitches here and there before the music starts again. Is there any way to burn the DVD without this happening?

Each year I am in charge of making a slideshow of photos and music for my annual company meeting. I always use iDVD to set up my photos and music and then burn the DVD to play at the meeting. Every time I burn the DVD, it blurs right before the transition of the photo. It has always done this and I'm not sure why. It will also make the music glitch in a few spots for about 5 seconds or more. If I burn another DVD to try it again, the glitches will still be there, but in different spots. I've tried the highest quality of DVD's possible and this still happens. What can I do to fix this problem?

    Try disabling transitions altogether!
There is a technical reason that this breakup happens - it is to do with how slideshows can be saved within the DVD specification, they can either be recorded as 'video streams' or as a collection of 'still images'.
When you add transitions iDVD has no option but to use a video stream, this can result in terrible 'breakup' because the mpeg 2 encoder isn't designed to handle scenes that are static with a sudden short change. You can see 'artefacts' in the video stream…
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_artifact
'Still image slideshows' avoid the issue altogether by only showing a static image, no video compression is used & because the scene doesn't transition so it shouldn't breakup.
NOTE: Music on the slideshow is irrelevant, both types can use a soundtrack.
I cannot remember if it is possible to force iDVD to only make still image slideshows, I always use DVD Studio Pro to correctly setup DVD's. I'd suggest you use the option to save the DVD to a disk image & then open that disk image so that DVD Player can preview it, that should save on the number of test disks you burn.
If you cannot make it avoid using video streams you may be ether off making your own video slideshow in iMovie & then import that into iDVD. It may eventually look better despite being a video stream!
iDVD isn't really condusive to professional levels of control.

  • Any way to root a K1 without wiping the tab clean?

The instructions found on xda-develop and rootzwiki seem to indicate that the tablet will be wiped clean of apps and data. Is there any way to root the K1 without wiping everything clean? I'd like to backup some apps and data in preparation for flashing ICS which Mark says will also wipe the tablet clean.
    Thanks!

You might be able to backup the apps with ES File explorer, but you won't be able to backup their data - the android security model sandboxes apps so that they can't access each others' data - this is why root is required for a proper backup.

  • I duplicated all the pictures in my library. Is there any way to delete the duplicates at one time without going and deleting them one by one

I duplicated all my pictures. Is there any way to delete the duplicates without deleting them one at a time. I now have 44,000 pictures and have 22,000 duplicates

Easiest solution: restore from your back up.
Other than that: For dealing with duplicates in iPhoto check out Duplicate Annihilator or Decloner

  • HT4528 I lost my I phone 4 but did not have the find my i phone app....is there any way to find my phone without that app or having I-cloud? Seems like Verizon  could find it without that app but does anyone have any suggestions??

I lost my I phone but did not have Icloud on it or the find my I phone App...Is there any way to locate the phone without these apps? One would think if location services are on the phone it could be found by GPS from verizon? Any suggestions?

The only way to track is from Find my iPhone. Sorry. All Verizon can do is possibly block it by IMEI so others cannot use it.

There is no supported method to "downgrade" iOS on any device.  If you update, you will get the latest iOS for your device, which will be iOS 6.1.3.  You cannot go backwards to iOS 4.3
If you have never backed up in either iCloud or iTunes, then upgrading to iOS 6.1.3 will involve restoring your device as part of the upgrade.  Without a backup to restore from, you will loose everything that is on it.
You should first connect to iTunes with your computer, sync your device without upgrading and create an up to date backup of everything.  Then use the upgrade option in iTunes to update your iOS.
However, if the dock device strictly requires iOS 4.3, it will not work, as you cannot downgrade iOS.  There simply is no mechanism from Apple to do that.

We have several iphones in our household.  An iphone 3, two iphone 3S and two iphone 4S.  Our teenage daughter keeps snatching everyone's charger and then claims innocence.  Funny thing, everyone's chargers are all gone and she's the only one who has one left.  We've never caught her red-handed, but we know without a doubt she's the little thief in the house.  Is there any way to match the dock and USB to the iphone it goes with?

A charger is only connectors plastic and rubber you Can MAKE one yourself with wires so no memories
