Any way to export with multiple presets at once?

Hi! Is there any way to export with multiple presets at once? I do a lot of product photography, usually clients send me around 5 to 10 pieces to photograph, and from each photo requires to be exported to about 7 different formats and sizes for different uses. I have a preset for each export, but this requires multiple clicks per export, select the preset, the destination folder, etc..... and at the end I end taking about 1 hour to just export files when if I could just select 1 time a folder of presets and the destination folder just once, then it will take no time to get all oft those exports.

Some of those other photographers have assistants they can task with doing the drudgery.
I would describe what you're wanting scripted multiple exporting, not multiple export presets, because multiple-exports don't necessarily rely on presets, just initiating an Export and clicking on various things for each one.
I assume you have a preset set for each of the 7 format-size-uses variations, and then most of the time consuming part is setting the Choosing the destination folder that gets mirrored to DropBox? You can copy/paste most of the path into the Folder address area after clicking Choose.
Without knowing what your master-photo folders and dropbox-mirror folder names and organization are it's hard to know if you've thought of all the shortcuts you might use or if things are organized in the most efficient manner.
If you're on Windows, maybe something like AutoHotKey macros would help with what you're doing.

Quick question about rendering and exporting with multiple presets

Probably a very simple question but I'm pretty new to PPro, so I'd appreciate your help...
I've got an uncompressed AVI video that I want to export to mp4 using several presets (that means several exports). What I intend to do is the following:
I create a sequence and put my AVI file in there and then I just apply the preset and without rendering go to export media, select my export setting, and put it in the encoding queue at the Media Encoder. Then on the same sequence, I clear the preset and apply a new one, and again without rendering, go to export and then to the encoding queue. I repeat this for as many times as presets as I want to apply. At the end I have created (in no more than 2-3 minutes) several exports in the Adobe Media Encoder queue, that I can launch and go and do something else while encoding...
My question: will the export files each have the different preset applied even though it was not rendered? if it does not work, would that work if I were to do this with each preset applied on a different sequence, even without rendering?

Does "apply the preset" mean selecting an encoding preset
before sending the Sequence to the Queue?
If I understand what you are trying to do...
It sounds like you want to do multiple, different format
exports from the same Premiere Sequence.
If so...
I would Queue the Sequence to Media Encoder once from Premiere,
then duplicate the entry in the Queue (Ctrl+D) and assign the
different encode types to the duplicates in Media Encoder,
(instead of Queueing the Sequence multiple times).

A Sequence will be encoded using the assigned settings.
You can set multiple encodes in the Queue, each with different settings.
I'm not sure what you mean by "even though it was not rendered...".
Unless you have specified 'Use Preview Files' in your encoding,
it will make no difference if your Sequence is 'Timeline Preview'
rendered or not.

Is there any way to export to multiple DVDs?

I have a short digital video that I want to export as an Image Sequence in TGA format (for transfer to film). Because the size of each image file is quite large (16MB or so), I want to export them directly to a DVD, rather than use up all my hard disk space.
When I tried this, FCP keeps adding files to the DVD, even when the available disk space on the DVD (4.7 gigs) is exceeded. When I click the Burn icon on the DVD, I get the "remove some files" message.
Is there any way I can have FCP prompt me when the DVD reaches its limit, so I can insert another DVD?
Perhaps this is more of a Mac question than a FCP question.

If you're spending all that money to transfer to film (I hope you have a good reason) you should spend another $100 to buy an external hard drive. You'll be much better off with that. The post house doing the film transfer will thank you too.

Any way to work with multiple layers once map is mapped to a sphere?

I'm working on a history documentary about World War II and I have a map of the world divided into colonial empires. Each empire is a separate layer. I know how to take the world map and apply it to a sphere in Photoshop CS4 Extended.
The problem is that after this all my layers disappear and I'm left with a single layer.
I want to fade in the empires' opacity levels as the globe revolves.
How can I do this if putting the map on the sphere collapses all the layers into one?
Also, how do you turn off the shadow on the sphere? I want it the same level of brightness everywhere on the planet.

Hi Nick,
I think you have figured out that if you want a texture map to contain layers, you need to either group the layers (and select the group), or just select all of them before selecting the 'New Shape From Layer>' command. The result difusse map will have a single name, but if you open it you will see that it has layers intact.
Fading opacity or any other keyframe attribute of a texture while the 3d model is also being animated, is a new feature to CS4. You need to open the texture and animate it so you have an animated texture applied to an animated object. I have added a quick lo-fi 4 sec. sample of what I think you're trying to accomplish. I'll attach the source PSD, so you can take a look at how I set it up.
Basically, I took your flat png file an added some layers for the country selections so I could fade them in/out. Then I animated them to fade using the layer opacity (100% keyframe at start, 0% keyframe at finish, or vied versa). I then selected all the layers and 3D> New Shape from Layer> Sphere. Now I went about animating the revolving of the sphere using 3D object position for keyframing (I went from z: -180, to 0, to +180, but you can play around with that. I'm not expert with the animation to know what works best for smooth transitions and looping if desired). The animation from the texture should 'play' at the same time as the animation of the sphere, you just need to sync the timelines when setting keyframes.
For even lighting on the sphere, you can approach it a few ways. Your best bet in this case is to go to 3D> Render Settings... and select 'Unlit' Texture' from the Face Style pop up menu. You can also remove all the lights using the 3D panel (select a light in the top half and then click the trash can icon at the bottom), and then change the Global Ambient color to White (found in 3D panel with 'Scene' selected). You could also try adding infinite lights at all the six camera views.

Is there a way to code with multiple people at once on the same page?

In my class today we were tasked with building a web page and it would work so much better if we were able to work on the same pages all together at once.

There is no way to do this with DW, or any other coding environment that I've ever seen.
What does exist is a check-in/out system that allows multiple people to work on a single file, at different times. One person would check it out to make a change, save and check it in so the next could check it out and make their edits. That way an errant save from one person wouldn't accidentally overwrite the work of another who has it open on their machine.

I'm currently dealing with this issue myself, except that my rMBP has NO articles in the reading list. It's a brand new rMBP too, purchased just this week, with the 2.6 Ghz Processor & 16GB of RAM.

Any way to export to specified file size?

Is there any way to export images so they are sized to fit within certain dimensions AND a specified file size? Similar to 'image processor' in Bridge/CS3 or the older Doc Brown's image processor.
Example: (processing images for web use)
I want to export a batch of RAW files to jpg,
Size them to fit within 800px x 800px,
And have them be a consistent file size of around 100kb
(This has been possible to do in Adobe Bridge for years)
I know I can edit Aperture's export preferences and adjust the image quality slider but final images have a range of file sizes and I find myself having to re-export some images over again after adjusting image quality to reach the desired size. This is a trial and error process each time.
Another workaround is to export the images as .tif files, then open in Adobe Bridge and process into jpg's using 'image processor' to reach the desired size. But that effectively negates the use of Aperture in the first place for batch processing files for size. In this case, it'd be more efficient to take Aperture out of my workflow completely and do everything in Adobe Bridge.
Has anyone found a plug-in or less tedious workaround for this?

Aperture does take care of half of that, the pixel dimensions. If it was me, I would test out a few images at various levels of jpg quality (5, 6, 7 etc.) and see where both the file size ends up and how the quality looks. Then, just go with one your favorite combinations. Images with more detail will be larger and images with less will be smaller. In the long run, it should even out. If you had the ability to request a certain size, some of your images may look good and others bad. Personally, I would be more concerned with quality than a few k of pixels.

Off the top of my head, you should be able to create mail templates in muse BUT it will require very basic html/css knowledge on your part. I am assuming you want to do just the signature?
Create the design you would like on one page, dont do any kind of styling in a master page. Then export the site into a folder. Open the html file with notepad/ textedit and then copy just the code for JUST the template. Throw it in you mail app of choice and it should work.
This seems like something that would be done alot quicker in dreamweaver in design view.
PLEASE NOTE: ^i could be completely wrong - but in theory this may work.

We have exported some IT Resources and when we imported them in the preproduction environment their data was not migrated. Is there any way to export IT Resource data from OIM using the export tool? Or is there any other way to do this without doing it by hand?

Any way to export from iPhoto and have the file date be the photo date?

I can't deal with iPhoto any longer. I just imported photos from the last few days and they ended up being associated with some "Event" from Jul 19, 2007. So now I have an event that spans Jul 19, 2007 to Feb 21, 2009!!! I'd like to just display, sort, view all photos in my library by date (I am meticulous about dates on all my devices) but apparently that's not possible anymore. "Events" is the worse thing to ever happen to my photo library...
So I'd like to export them all and just use the Finder. It actually works the way I'd like. However there does not seem to be any way to export the photos so that the file creation or the file modification date is the actual date the photo was taken as shown in the information box in iPhoto. Does anyone know how to to this? Or is this just the iPhoto engineers screwing with people like me who have gotten disgusted with their product?

Yes, I know what the Finder is... The cool thing is it actually does know about the contents of the file. For example it can display thumbnails of the images contained within.
Even better the files can be sorted any way you want, are not hidden in some odd proprietary package, can be backed up, restored at will and can easily be programmatically changed using AppleScript. The file system for an OS is generally bullet-proof and as such doesn't screw with dates like iPhoto did (the events stuff screwed with all our dates and has been a disaster for us and the 40,000 or so pictures we had in our library).
iPhoto has just gotten too modal, too bloated, and too proprietary while not providing the basics like a way for my wife and I to have a single library for all our photos. On the other hand using just the file system and some network storage this is easy.
For the recored most pros I consulted with have moved to the file system and Finder as their primary means of managing their photos. I'm just looking for an easy way to get my stuff out of iPhoto so I can do the same.

Only if y can get the iPod out of recovery mode with the program. Otherwise you will have to restore via iTunes which erases the iPod.

Go to ME53N>Click on Export Button>Spread Sheet>Click the radion Button All Available formats>Select from Drop down SAP XML format

You need to use the CHAT link in support to reach Adobe staff. Be sure you know the product name you are trying to cancel, Adobe have lots of products, several converters etc. I think it is ExportPDF you have, most likely.
