Any way to extract iMessage information from encrypted iTunes backup?

I have an encrypted backup, from which I'd like to extract a single iMessage thread (which dates back some 2 years, many attachements there that I'd like to be saved). Any way to do it? I have tried likes of Aiseesoft (yes even the full version) but it won't accept it due to encryption. Is there a way to delete the encryption?I know the password for it, can't unlock it anywhere. Is it possible if I roll back to iTunes 8-9? IIRC you could choose there whether to encrypt it or not.

No, it's simply not possible to crack the encryption or turn it off short of entering the encryption passcode during the restore process.

Any way to tranfer contact information from a Palm Pre with a broken touch screen?

My beloved Palm Pre died last Friday with the touch screen failing. It simply stopped responding to inputs. I am able to unlock the phone and enter some commands from the slide out keypad, but I can't do much. For example, I can type in "contacts" under just-type and then hit enter and it will take me to the contacts screen. However, at that point I can't navigate around or open any contacts. Other commands don't respond to the slide out keypad, such as the "USB Drive" prompt when I plug the phone into my laptop.
I have several contacts saved on the phone (and some on the SIM) that I can no longer access. Most were backed up to my Outlook contacts but many are not. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can move these to an alternate source (Outlook, Google, Desktop, etc) where I can then recover them. I'm open to any suggestions.

There are several methods to export Palm Profile contacts such as:

but they all require a device with a responsive touchscreen. I am unaware of any way to access your webOS Profile data from HP's backup servers directly, without a device.
So...if you either know someone with a webOS device you could borrow, or find an inexpensive used one (eg eBay...or if you could use Verizon, get a no-contract Pre 2 from BestBuy for a mere $45!!!), and if you had Backup turned on, you should be able to restore them all by signing into your account on a replacement webOS device.

Any way to extract contact data from old data.syncdb files????

Had the unfortunate consequence of a power outage corrupting my address book database, which then populated to all other devices it synched to - iPhone, Entourage, even .Mac online. Now all contacts are gone.
No, I didn't have a backup (smack my wrists), but in digging into user/library/syncservices/local, I found a bunch of files called data.syncdb. Opening these files in text edit yielded lines and lines of code, and a cursory glance indicates that at least some of the old contact data is stored in these files.
How do I extract this data? I have done search after search for procedures, but all I can find on the web is how deleting these files makes synch happen faster. I don't want to delete these files, as they seem to contain the last vestiges of my contacts?

You cannot without having a working version of the original OS X / Logic / K1 combo installed on a Mac... which is what you stated in your post.
The Kontakt 'data' is not stored in the LSO file as such.... Just 'pointers' to the data that is stored within Kontakt and it's libraies itself. No installed Kontakt 1... no data... and no way to get to it.

Is there any way to print out information from the Health Dashboard such as Blood Pressure readings to take to doctor?

I am having to keep track of my blood pressure for several weeks and then take them to the doctor just to make sure I'm doing okay. Is there a way to print out the readings that I have entered into the dashboard on the Health App? Or am I going to have to copy down all those weeks worth of readings by hand?

I will have my phone with me but they will need a hard copy to scan in to my records or at least to enter manually in to their system. Maybe I will just start keeping track of my health info in the notes app again so I can email myself a copy to print.

Basically a couple of weeks ago I bought a new iPhone 5S, and the night before I got this phone I made sure to backup my old iPhone 5. When I tried to restore backup my new 5S I waited half an hour thinking it was working but I was shown the message ‘iTunes could not restore the iPhone "*phone name*" because the backup was corrupt or is not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored". I am not particularly interested in backing my phone up to an earlier date my main concern is really all the photos I had on my latest backup.

Did you also have an iCloud backup? Did you enable Photo Stream? Had you ever synced your photos to your computer's photo management app? These would be the easiest ways to recover your photos. Beyond thatyou can try to find them in the backup with a backup extractor app for your computer. You can try googling for "iphone backup extractor". Skip any expensive ones; there are some excellent ones that are free or inexpensive.

I just deleted a run from the Nike+ site after syncing with iTunes. You should be able to do the same.
Just select the run and from the Options drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner select "Delete run".

Is there any way to EXTRACT subtitles from a DVD?

Is there any way to EXTRACT subtitles from a DVD? My ultimate goal is to convert an existing DVD into a flash file for web use. It has subtitles which I want to retain. I have tried pulling the DVD files (.VOB) and encoding them to .wmv.
I was thinking perhaps I could import the DVD into Premiere, Encore, etc. I am able to pull the DVD video files off but the subtitles track/file is NOWHERE to be found.

You cannot do this with Adobe tools. The subtitles are a separate image stream inside the vob.
As with any third party or Adobe tools, I assume you are using them for legal purposes.

The easier way to do this is to get the subtitle file from the creator. However, many DVDs are created using a script image file, the person authoring the disk may not have a text file of the subtitles, and I don't think you can use an image subtitle file for flash subtitles.

Extracting package information from SSIS

Hi all,
I am supposed to maintain a bunch of excels documenting all the mappings I'm doing in SSIS. The excels have the following format:
Target Field | Target Type | Source Table | Source Field | Source Type | Transformation Rule
Apart from being incredibly tedious, it is hard to keep every excel current, as there are other people adding and taking information from the database model.
I plan to extract this information from SSIS and create the excels dinamically, but, apart from parsing the .dtsx for each package, I see no other way of getting what I need.
Any suggestions on how I should do this? Is there an easier way?

The SSIS object model provides access to all aspects of the package, you can use it from both managed and unmanaged code. Also, take a look as SQL BI Metadata Samples that has similar goal of documenting the package, you may find some of its code useful for your project.

Are you talking about the Time Remaining display on the side bar? The text for that field is in the Modify Text Labels... tool in the Theme Editor of Presenter. You can change it to whatever you want, but you may want to keep a record of what the default text labels are, as there is no restore to default option. The Elapsed Time field is what you would want to change. I have seen this modified to show no text, copyright information or other general info.
