Any way to find a lost I phone with out the app installed?

I lost my I phone but do not have the app installed. Is there anyway to find it. It is till on and someone has it because they checked the voice mail. Found this out from checking my att account.

The app is not necessary to be able to find your lost iPhone. The app only allows tracking of one iPhone from another iPhone via the Find My iPhone service, and would be installed on the device you're doing the tracking from. If you set Find My iPhone up before you lost the iPhone, you can if you're lucky track it from any computer with a web browser.
If you did not set up the Find My iPhone service, though, before you lost your iPhone, then there's no way to track it.
Regards.

  • Is there any way to restore it to factory settings with out the disk?

I got a macbook off of a friend with all the proper disks, did the installation and set up and did all the updates. Now after having restarted the computer with the new updates I'm trying to install iworks(it always asks for the admin. name and password), but it keeps saying that I have the incorrect administrator name or password yet I can log on and off just fine. Is there any way I can fix this or reset it to the factory settings with out having to use the disk?

OK, then you can try this instead:
I lost my admin user (OS X 10.5)
If you are unfortunate enough to delete your only admin user, or remove his admin capability, then as long as you have another user with login capability, you can give that user admin rights as shown below.  Print this post out in a mono-spaced font, and type carefully, paying attention to spaces and punctuation, since you cannot copy/paste in Single User mode.  Caution: in single user mode you have root privileges. Be careful!
Substitute the name of 'youruser' below.
Boot into single-user mode which will eventually get you to a shell prompt (ending in #). Then type the following (Press RETURN after each command):
    /sbin/fsck -fy
Repeat the above until it says your disk is OK. Then continue with
    /sbin/mount -uw /
    /usr/bin/dscl . -merge /groups/admin users youruser
If you get a message saying "invalid path", then type these two commands first:
    /usr/bin/dscl . -create /groups/admin gid 80
    /usr/bin/dscl . -create /groups/admin passwd '*'
and then repeat the "dscl ... -merge" command.
    Then:
    reboot
You will now be able to login as 'youruser' and have administrative privileges.  Membership of the 'admin' group is the only thing that distinguishes administrative users from ordinary users.

  • Any way to find my lost iphone 5s ?

I bought one iphone 5s months ago, and now it was stolen by someone. I could remember "find my iphone" is set up or not. All set up were done by the store saler, and I do remember my app id and password.
I bought a new one days ago, and I used my old one's app id and password on this phone too. Finally I learnt there is this "find my iphone" item, but when I tried to used it to locate the old one, I only can see my new one on the map. Now I only keep the package and know serial number or IMEI, etc.
My query is: why not set "find my iphone" by default? And can one app id used for both iphone ? Any way to find my lost iphone ?
    Disappointed..

When find my iPhone is enabled then it is always on you can only

  • Is there any way to find my lost/stolen ipod if find my ipod is not turned on?

is there any way to find my lost/stolen ipod if find my ipod is not turned on?

    Only the old fashioned way
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

How do you go about finding a lost iPod Touch with IOS 4.3 installed? I had updated my iPod Touch to IOS 4.3 and I had read something about the update having the ability to help one find their lost device.
Is there documentation anywhere that outlines how this works?

  • HT4623 Is there any way to find a lost iPhone once the phone's battery has expired?

I have lost my iPhone(4)and the battery is dead. I have the "locate device application", however, I know the battery is dead. To my knowledge, once the battery has expired, it cannot be retrieved using the "lost device/find my device" application.?? Is this correct? If so, is there another way to find this lost iPhone?

Thanks for taking the time to respond!!
I didn't think so, but was hoping this was a time, that someone knew something that I didn't.

What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
This link, Re: Help! I misplaced / lost my iPhone 5 today morning in delta Chelsea hotel downtown an I am not able to track it. Please help!, has some good advice regarding your options when your iDevice is lost or stolen.

  • My MacBook froze whilst uploading photos from iPhoto to Facebook and now the album is empty. Any way to find my lost snaps?

I Was trying to upload photos, in an album, from iPhoto to Facebook on my MacBook. It crashed and I had to do a hard reboot. When I we t back into iPhoto my oictures had gone. Is there  any way to find them.

Do you have a back up?
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • TS4006 Is there any way to find a lost/stolen iPhone's most recent location, or to track if the iPhone has been activated with another Apple ID?

The iPhone 5 was either lost or stolen, and it does not appear as online in the Find iPhone app. Can i access the last place it was online? And if i can't, is there any way to track my phone to see if the data was cleared and someone is using it with another Apple ID?

The last known location is displayed for up to 24 hours, then it is cleared until it goes back online, if ever.  If the phone has been restored and reactived as a new device, or erased and set up with a different ID, it can no longer be tracked.

help- Is there anyway to track a Lost/stolen ITouch?
With so much data on it - I fear that I didn't put more security steps on it.
    Thanks!

If you had already set up the FindMyiPod feature on the iPod and wifi is one and some other conditions are met, you can determine its general location, have it make a sound, send it a message, lock it and wipe the iPod. Otherwise you have to find it like any other item.  Apple will not help. Change the passwaords for all accounts used on the iPod and report it to the police.  Also see:
