ANY way to get iTunes Videos into iMovie?

I've downloaded several videos from iTunes, I'd like to be able to burn a few of these to DVD (ideally editing out undesired content)
(I realize this will be of pretty poor quality - but would like to be able to watch from a TV rather than computer - & don't even own a video iPod)
Is there ANYway to do this?

Legality has nothing to do with this.
Alex,
are you a lawyer?
don't give legal advices, if you have no plan; you run people into deep trouble giving them "advice":
getting an account in the iTMS, you've accepted to following (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/legal/policies.html):
CONTENT USAGE RULES
Your use of any Products purchased from the iTunes Music Store is conditioned upon your prior acceptance of the Terms of Service, including, without limitation, the Usage Rules set forth therein.

any "burn" is a process of copying... copy rights... got it?

  • Is there any way to get this palette into photoshop CS6?

I'm curious as to why Photoshop CS6 can't have a simple effective palette choice like this one from Fireworks?
I'm an artist and this palette makes sense to me.  The standard issue pallette in Photoshop is a mess compared to this.
Is there any way to get this palette into photoshop CS6?
    Thanks!

If your talking about the Color Cubes from fireworks as shown in your screenshot, then yes.
Save the swatches out of fireworks as an Adobe Swatch Exchange File (ASE) and then you can load them into photoshop
in it's swatches panel like below.

  • Video Converters to get Sony Video into iMovie

I am new to the video side of the world and need some advice. I am trying to import videos into iMovie. I am trying to import video from a Sony Cam, a DVD tht I made myself but mow would like to edit and my Flip Video. Additionally I will import video from a friends Nikon. Apple "suggested" handbrake, streamclip and toast. I see there a number of them on the app store. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Zapple

Handbrake will be useful for converting the DVD back to a format that iMovie can edit. MPEG Streamclip requires some extra software still sold by Apple caleld the MPEG-2 QuickTime Playback component, download the beta of Streamclip and follow their directions for installing it will get the MPEG-2 component installed correctly. This will then let you open the DVD directly in Streamclip and get pieces out of it or just convert the whole disk to Apple Intermediate Codec. As for Sony and Flip video, don't know specifically which camera you have and what formats they record in, but there's likely a way to convert most of them into Apple Intermediate Codec which is the native editing/playback format that iMovie uses.

  • Getting Analog Video into iMovie

    Greetings,
OK, so I have successfully imported digital video into iMovie on several occasions with my "newer" video camera (a SONY DCR-TRV80).
Problem is, I have and older camera (a Canon ES800A) that uses 8mm tape. I've been wanting to get rid of the camera (a nice one for it's time) but, I have about 6 tapes worth of video that I'd like to at least permanently archive.
I suspect there is some hardware device out there that will allow me do to this - can anyone tell me would I need to be shopping for? (hoping it's not prohibitively expensive!)
    Any help would be appreciated!
Next up? - a camcorder with a hard disk!
    Thanks,
    Jim

Hi : I have a related problem maybe you could help me with....I've got about 6 Beta tapes [ remember them ? ] that I'd like to transfer to DVD while there still viewable. About 4 hours of tape on each....
I have an Optura 20 DV [Canon] and a Beta tape machine. The optura 20 manual says you should be able to run the RCA plugs out of the Beta unit into the AV jack on the Optura, then FW out into I - Movie. OR you can record onto a DV tape, then into IMovie. I've had no luck with either method. No Beta material shows on the DV monitor no matter what I do. It does play into a standard T.V from Beta, so I know the tape AND the Beta machine are working.
Do I need something like that Canopus Converter ? ....don't know if that' s the exact name .
    Any suggestions appreciated...Thanks

  • Importing iTunes video into iMovie?

I am putting together a movie, and want to splice some parts of a music video into it. I purchased the video from iTunes, but I cannot import it into iMovie. I suspect it has to do with copyright protection, and that it is a .mv4 file. But since I purchased it I figured I should be able to use it?
    Thoughts?
    roger

So I figured, Gee how did miss that in the iTs Terms of Use, I read those documents so carefully...
Actually, I can take an iTunes purchased music tune and take it into Garage Band and edit it, so I figured this model might apply to a video into iMovie.
    thanks

  • Any way to get iTunes to store Podcasts and Music on different volumes...?

I have two external hard drives. One is massive and I use that to store all my movies that I have loaded into iTunes. The other one is a not-so-big portable pocket-drive and I use that to store all my music files that I have loaded into iTunes.
The smaller of the two hard drives also contains my default "iTunes Music Folder", for any new music that I rip or purchase.
So far, so good. That's how I want to keep it.
The problem arises when it comes to Podcasts...
I subscribe to a lot of video Podcasts in iTunes, and these take up a lot of space. As my default "iTunes Music Folder" is located on the small hard drive, iTunes also insists on downloading these video Podcasts onto this small drive, and it's now full! I can't import any new music on to this drive!
Is there no way that I can get iTunes to store my Podcasts in a different location to the default location in the Preferences?
If I manually move the files onto the bigger hard drive, iTunes of course doesn't magically update its list of files to the new locations of these files. And having to manually re-link them all one by one by one is an unattractive idea.
    Anyone have any solutions?
    (iTunes 7.1.1)

Okay, there's a way to do this, but it's a bit of a kludge...
What you should do is change your iTunes music folder location to the larger drive, but be sure that you iTunes isn't set to keep your music organized (and also be sure not to choose the "Consolidate Library" option).
This will keep all of your already-imported music on the smaller drive, while the new podcasts you download will be to the larger drive. (Of course, if you want to import new music to your library and keep it on the smaller drive, you'll have to change your music folder location back to the smaller drive temporarily.)

  • Is there any way to get a video clip to snap to a beat marker?

I have tried everything and cannot get this to work.  The video clip snaps ONLY to the timeline and ignores the beat marker.  It doesn't make any difference if "Snap" is on or off.
When "Snap" is on and I attempt to move the video clip to snap to the beat marker, I see a red line indicating the edge of the beat marker, but there is no way to get the clip to snap to it.
This to me is a bug and I hope this can be fixed soon because there is no way to truly synchronize your video to the beats of your audio track.  Those of you who think your video is "beat" synced to your audio, please look very closely at the precise location of your video in relation to your wave forms.
Another way of putting this whole thing is that there is no way to position the start or endpoint of any video or audio track in-between any frames.  The start and endpoints will always coincide with a frame.  It would be real nice to be able to nudge a track left or right so that it's start or endpoint lie in-between a frame.

I keep getting people telling me how it is possible to position the starting or end point of a clip in-between a frame.  With all due respect I don't think these individuals really understand the relationship of the clip and the frame.  At least that is my understanding.
So I assume that the following is true:
If you want to sync a video clip to an audio peak that lies in-between a frame, the only possible way that his can be done is to edit the audio so the audio peak falls precisely on a frame.  This is because you can only place begin and start points of a clip directly on a frame and not in-between.
    Does this sound correct?

  • Is there any way to get itunes music from my ipad to my ipod without a computer and only 4g?

Lets say you have an ipad (a new one) and an ipod.  Thats all you have.  The ipad has 4g.  You can have access to other small hardware devices like cables and stuff but no other computer like device and no wifi internet.
Is it possible to get itunes music from the ipad and onto the ipod with just this?

Would those work if I am using the 4g wifi hotspot on the ipad to get the music onto an ipod touch?  I am willing to give up third party music if this would work. Just not sure if it would work since the 4g wifi has that 50mb restriction

  • ITunes / Shadow / Import - Is there ANY way to get iTunes to work on the Media Hub 405?

Since I installed the Linksys Media Hub 405 my iTunes Library has become a mess to manage or enjoy.  I'm using the latest software.
    1.  I have so so so so many duplicates
    2.  I can't use playlists
    3.  Some art work shows up others do not.
    A.  Itunes works great on my Dell Laptop w/ Vista Ultimate and on my iPod
    B.  The Media Hub is using Import and The Shadow keeps running but gets errors from time to time.
If the ONLY reason I bought the Media Hub is to run iTunes for 4,600 song library what should my settings and software running be to keep it up to date "automaticly" WITHOUT duplicates?
Should Shadow be on or off, and what setting?
Should Import be on or off, and what settings?
Can ANYONE answer this question is a common sense simple manner?  Thank you.

If you worry about duplicate files on your Media Hub then you should use NTI Shadow. When creating a backup job on NTI Shadow make sure your choose "save your folder/file changes to the backup destination every time you save changes to your PC" then for the file versions options choose "Do not save any previous file version".
Check on Step 8 and 9 on this article.

  • Any way to play iTunes video/audio on Droid?

I have always used Apple products and wanted an iPhone, but I live in rural Minnesota so my only 3G option was Verizon. It's a decent phone, but the only problem is that all of my iTunes downloads won't transfer. I would hate to have to use a different program to download stuff, because I also have an Apple TV... Is there any sort of application for my Macbook that would allow me to transfer to my Droid? I don't really want to do it illegally, but it seems like if it's just for personal use on a device that I own it wouldn't be a problem. I would be able to get a copy of Toast from my dad, would that be able to take off the DRM protection? I don't know that much about Toast but it seems like it could be useful for this issue. Any ideas?

Motorola's Media Link integrates nicely with iTunes, but I think it is Windows-only (and any DRM media would not transfer). Keep an eye on the Motorola user forum to see if anyone has a Mac solution.
