Any way to get prior (non-iOS 6) version of iMovie?
Just saw a demo of iMovie and really liked it. I headed to the iTunes app store and was seriously disappointed to find that I could only use iMovie if I updated to iOS 6. That isn't going to happen. I use Google Maps every day and will switch to an Android based system before I will upgrade to iOS 6.
So, is there any way to get the prior verion of iMovie that works on iOS 5.1.1 or is Apple just trying to force people to downgrade to iOS 6? My guess is the latter.

@hpr : I was running the dev version because it provided a LOT more stability with Chrome/Flash (while I waited to receive my "free upgrade to mountain lion" email from apple), and it also addressed the Retina font-rendering issues. Latest official Chrome release was super crashtastic for me -- multiple kernel panics daily. Apparently this is/was An Issue for the new rMBP + Chrome + Flash. Honestly, though, this thing reboots so freaking fast it wasn't even *that* much of an issue.
Finally jumping to Mountain Lion right now...hopefully that'll stabilize things. If not, back to the dev version I go. Chrome has spoiled me - I just can't deal with Safari anymore.

You should still have the old version in your App Folder.

Today I deleted an email services I no longer need. Now when I go to the notes app I no longer have any notes. Is there any way to get my notes back. I have the first iPad running iOS 5.1.1
Ah, well, then the notes are probably gone. Did you save any of the email from that account on your computer? The notes might be there if you did.

is there any way to get the server app other than through the app store. The system that I need it on are not connected to the internet.
We run a closed-loop network of apple systems and I tipically downloaded updates on a non-apple system that was on the internet.
Any ideas?I did buy the server app, went to the app store to download it. This system I'm using for downloads is Snow Leopard 10.6.8, it shows that I can download it but only as an Install which says I need 10.8. I can't seem to find a way for it to just download as a package or .dmg file so that I can copy it to DVD/CD or flash drive.

my iphone 5 has restored to an old backup after updating to ios 7 is there any way of getting my stuff back as this has now become the most recent back up?

While deleting an album, I hit select all, instead of deleting just that album the entire genre was deleted. I was able to get back all the purchased songs , but none of the cds that were in my collection. Any way to get those songs back?
Assume you were in itunes? Also assuming windows? Two paths I can think of.....
1) Normally anything deleted from itunes goes to recycle bin. If you did not pick remove from computer probably still in itunes music directory. Just add back. Note to speed things up you can use add directory.
2) Use restore previous version of music directory. To be safe I'd back up current directory, do a restore, then swap back original directory and use restored directory off line.
I do not know of nice solution, I like to hack my way through. -
My company will not allow us to download iOS 7 due to software / security issues on our end. The problem is I need to download numbers but it says I need iOS 7. Is there any way to get an earlier update of numbers that's doesn't require ios7?
Thank you so much! It's updating now. I'm hoping that once the update is finished that it will sync like normal as well. Of course I'm still a bit confused/concerned about how it refused to update on it's own, but for now that's not a problem. Hopefully from now on there won't be any more problems.

Well most of the school made tutorials that i've seen over years, didn't really have too much code, so it may not take much at all to get it working - it might even work straight away.
There's always some work required - but the pay off will be worth the effort.
Problems to look out for :-
can't use 3rd party xtras,
can't use embedded fonts,
can't have easy keyboard entry (you'll need to redesign everything for touch),
scroll text fields need a bit of reworking,
11khz sounds files need to be set higher,
some 8 bit graphics bomb out,
there are some lingo commands that just seem to bomb out the app (work around these with other lingo commands!)
embedded Flash objects need a little bit of work to get them working right,
videos need to be in swf format.
If you're only running them on (in school) iPads - i'd say go with the side loading option.
best not to bother with the app store - if you can.
There are a few other enterprise options that might also suit. -

Is there any way to get .wav files to play on iOS devices? I know some apps can play .wav however I was looking to have safari load a suitable player as needed, but it shows a audio file with a line across it... and does not play the file. Any workaround? Thanks,

That is very helpful, thanks. However, that ends up presenting two other problems...
Initially, the original .wav file has to be downloaded somewhere, how does one download a file from Safari to the phone and then open the file with the app? Is there any way to configure iOS to always use an app for a particular file type? How does iOS handle file types? Do you know why safari does not allow add-ons? Can I configure another app as the 'default' browser?

i have a ipod touch 2g and after a restore none of my apps will restore because it says that i need a newer version of the ipod software to run them they all work fine till i did the restore . is there any way to get them back ?
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

If not then you will need to create a new account, and follow the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it. If the lost music is no longer on your iPod, on your PC, or in another backup somewhere, you are out of luck. You can download most iTunes purchases again at no cost via iCloud. See this article for more information and assistance.

Is there any way to get photos off of my iPhone 4 that won't turn on?
A couple of weeks ago my iPhone 4, running on iOS 7, decided to stop working. It just shut off all of a sudden, and wouldn't turn back even if it was plugged into a computer. It would just say that it was an iPhone in recovery mode, and that it needed to be restored. I would be okay with doing this, however I recently went on a big trip and took hundreds of photos on this trip with my phone, and I mistakenly did not back up my iPhone since this trip. I was wondering if there was any way to get these pictures off of my phone myself, and if not if there is any way that the people at the apple store could help me?
