Any way to globally set "edit keyword tag"

When you double click a keyword in the Keyword List, you're taken to the "Edit Keyword Tag" window, where you have several option boxes to click. Is there any way to globally set these options. For instance, I would like to always forego the option to "export containing keywords." (I'm finding it easier to click the containing keywords according to my preference, which is easy to do, since all the containing keywords appear as part of the hierarchy.)
But of course I don't want to go through each and every keyword that I already have and unclick that option. It'd be far easier to do this globally. Is that an option anywhere?

You cannot edit the items with the iPod.
You should edit them in iTunes and then sync the iPod.

It is the way Apple has chose to deal with external editor edits.... as I have wrote below in various other threads so no one else has to talk to someone for over two hours on the same thing....
Okay.... so after being on the phone with an Apple senior developer for 2 hrs and 29 minutes, the duplicating of originals has been completely intentional.
Basically, in a nutshell, we have lost the ability to revert back to previous versions of a photo. So, KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL!!!!!!!! Once you make an edit in an external editor, there is no going back unless you go back to the original. There is no reversing any edit in an external edit.
It only makes a copy off the original. So, if you make an edit of an edit, you will only have access to the photo where it is after the second edit. The revert to original does not work on external edits.
I gave suggestions on how to make an original automatically hide or be tagged somehow so it can be hidden and also a check before you delete..... I discussed many different ways of going about this (other than reverting to the way '09 worked)... not sure what they will come up with. But, I played around a lot with this new way of editing... and I could give a full scenario of what is happening with your photos as you edit... but, basically, it seems that Apple has met Windows in this '11 upgrade in that if you want to access different steps of a series of edits, you need to make copies as you go.

Our database is quite big and everything works OK and very fast, except SQL jobs which are used mainly for maintenance purposes.
I have one specific job which runs for 2 minutes and takes a lot of resources which may affect execution of other stored procedure which should be executed fast.The worst part is that this job has to be executed during the most active working hours. It does
not matter for me how long will it take to execute this job. I just do not want it to use so much resources.
Also I noticed when SQL backup job (takes about 4 minute) is scheduled it also takes a lot of resources and sometimes because of that I am receiving "login timeout" error on my web site.

depending on you sql server version and edition, you can use resource governor and limit the cpu and memory.
in most typical cases , you can use the session user name and times and classify the how much cpu and memory they can use. refer : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645892.aspx
but in your case, the problem seems to be with the maintenance jobs which could run as sql server service account.
also, if the backup are third party tool backup, you can specify the priority level and other options etc to make it less priority.
it is possible to do that even with native backups such as specifying the limiting buffercount, max transfer size, if the server is memory pressured. sometimes, stripping the backups to multiple sets across different devices, could help as well. even though
stripping the backups can introduce another complexity.
may be you need to rethink you back up\recovery strategy.

So far i havent found any way to set todays date by default from MMI, but i guess this flow should work as workaroud
1. Add buisness rule which can set a default value when Date = NULL/Blank
2.get the entity table ,use -select EntityTable from mdm.tblEntity where Name = '<enter entity name>'
3.Go to that table and add a after update trigger like
if uda_<entityid>_<attributeid(Date attribute)> = default value
update uda_<entityid>_<attributeid(Date attribute)> =getdate() where id = <LastUpdatedRow>
I will check on this too from my side.
By the way AFAIK i dont think so calendar control integration is possible .

The first four of the options you get after disabling SPD are your Standard RAM-Latency settings (from top down: 5-5-5-18 for example). The other ones are sub-timings. Just leave them as they are.

Great! This is the solution I was looking for.
Just to clarify the method:
Select a photo with the tag you want to change the icon.
Double click it in the organizer to open it on the one photo view
Click the tag of the person that you want to change the icon
The People Recognition - Confirmation dialog opens.
Select the confirmed tab.
Choose the photo that you want for the icon from the confirmed photos and drag over the current one, on the upper left corner of the dialog.
Save.

are you using variants? Then you can easily adjust the variante and change your user groups.
If you are not using variantes, I would suggest to create a variante and plan the scheduled job again.

Not really. The best you can do is use the Compare Documents function to

Any way to globally change volume automation programming?

Anyone know if there's a way to globally shift the automation programming for the volume, so that any program changes settings can be increase or decreased together.
I realize that some effect can be inserted to the track to boost or cut, but is there a way to accomplish the goal by simply shifting the automation programming?

If you hold command and click-drag on the vertical scale segmented meter looking thing that is on the very right side of the track header when automation is visible it will do what (I think) you are asking.

Global Preferences For Keyword Tag Options

Instead of a script that converts the LR2 Keywords back to the LR 1.4.1 way how about an update that adds a setting in say preferences that allows us to set them globally as we choose. Unless Adobe gives us Vista users the option of exporting hierarchical keywords with "/" as the separator, then I am going to have to start unchecking the "Export Containing Keywords" box for each of my existing keywords.

I second this. Even an "apply these options to all child tags" gesture would be helpful.

Any Way to Import Raw Edits from Bibble?

I have a client who has had work done for him by another editor in Bibble--Cr2 RAW files edited in Bibble but not converted to another format. He wants us to do some work for him with those files, but he does not want to pay for re-editing them all.
Bibble, apparently, is also a non destructive editor that saves a file .bib with each edited image. Can those be read by LR? (I don't have any of the files yet to test this out).
My assumption is that there is no direct compatibility. If so, are there any workarounds? Other than converting work done in Bibble to Tif and importing those?

This compatibility will be true for any non-destructive editing program, including Lightroom. The instructions and algorithms used will only be understood by the program that created them. The only way to pass a "developed" image from one program to another is to "flatten" it by exporting it to a format that is readable by the other program.
If you commit to Lightroom, even though the editing instructions may be saved in the XMP, or imbedded in the DNG, JPG, etc, only Lightroom will ever be able to interpret these instructions. This holds true no matter which non-destructive editor you commit to.
This is a fact of life.
