Any way to "grab" (or other screen shot utility) directly to PDF?

I need to repeatedly capture just part of a screen window and save as a PDF file. Right now, I use the "grab" utility, but it only seems to save it as a TIFF file. Then I have to use "preview" to open that TIFF file and resave again as a PDF.
Is there any way to save my partial screen capture just once as a PDF instead of going through my current 2-step process? Possibly saving to JPEG may also work too.

TinkerTool will allow you to change the type of file that the default screenshot utility produces. Applications like Skitch give you more dynamic control over the format and destination of every screenshot you take.

Thanks for information. Using the API UIApplicationUserDidTakeScreenhotNotification (iOS7) send the notification after the screenshot taken. Using this api is it possible to block the screen shot caputure option.

Hi Jim, I don't understand how this would help me in my situation. I loaded an old project, selected the clip edits that I needed, and then loaded the new project and pasted those edits into it, thus creating a duplicate multi-cam sequence.
Are you saying that before I paste, if I navigate to the old project in the media browser and import the multi-cam sequence into my project, Premiere will merge that with the exact same multi-cam sequence in my new project so that when I paste it won't create a duplicate?

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update or restore.
If you failed to do this, then they are very likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup

For whatever reason, the window capture function (CMD-SHIFT-4, then SPACE) in OS X 10.5 now insists on including the shadow of the window being captured. Given how much documentation I write this is a HUGE setback for me; what used to take a few seconds now takes several minutes since I now have to edit every image in Photoshop to remove the shadow, or use CMD-SHIFT-4 without the SPACE and hope my marquee is accurate.
Is there any way to fix this "improvement" (ahem) in 10.5?

Here is the problem.
Let's say you have a window that's sized to, say, 400x300, and you want to grab that window. You hit SHIFT-CMD-4, then tap SPACE, then click on the window.
Up until OS X 10.5, you would get an image file on your desktop that, when opened, contained a 400x300 graphic of that window.
Starting with 10.5, when you open that image you get an image that's LARGER than 400x300 and contains the window plus the shadow that OS X puts around it, with transparency.
Yes, they look great when you post them in documents with any color background. But that's only useful if you have an actual design-need for a drop shadow. Believe it or not, there are countless instances where a drop shadow is NOT needed or wanted. This means that I have to edit every file to remove the drop shadow which is a waste of time. Before Apple forced the drop shadow, I had the choice of whether to include a drop shadow or not when I work with the file in InDesign, and the drop shadow would work beautifully in any color background.

I keep having problems with "other" space on my iPad. My 64GB iPad is always running close to capacity, and often when I try to sync too much data, the sync fails and I end up left with some corrupt files that become the infamous "other" space you can see in iTunes.
Recently, I tried to clear up space on my iPad, and deleted all photos (including 2.7GB of photo stream).
I had about 5Gb of "other" space, so I figured it was time for a painful restore process that takes about 3-4 hours on my iPad.
Before doing the "restore", I did one last sync.
After the restore was done, the "other" space was gone, but at the same time I found that some of the clean ups I had done were lost. Photostream was still enabled and was still using up 2.7GB of space.
I disabled Photostream, and to my annoyance, the 2.7GB of space taken up by the photos disappeared, but it simply moved from the "Photos" category over to the "Other" category. Sigh!
I don't want to do another restore again, but I would really like to reclaim that 2.7GB of space.
Is there any way besides dong another restore? Rebooting didn't help.

I know there is away to disable the pass lock but is there a way to disable the screen from locking every time the screen goes off? cause it's so much easier to just press the answer button than to slide it to unlock. phone versions iPhone 4s and iPhone 5c.

You're confusing a direct answer with a rude one. Wjosten's reply wasn't rude. It was accurate and direct, without any sugercoating. You can't get the device to operate the way that you want (lock the screen, but not really 'lock' the screen). It's not a 'screensaver' like on your computer. It's a lock screen, designed to prevent accidental activation of the device screen, and possibly launching apps, making phone calls, etcetera.
If you want an option added that allows the device to do what you want, tell Apple.

Go to icloud.com. Log in with your Apple ID & Password. Go to the Find My iPhone section. Perform a remote wipe of the device.
You don't have to have downloaded any app. You only have to have enabled the Find My iPhone option under Settings > iCloud. If you did not do that, then you cannot remotely access the device.
If that's the case, then change ALL of your account passwords; email, banking, etc. All of them. And then monitor those accounts very closely!

You will find that this is application dependent. Most Apple applications such as Safari and Mail will use the "sheet" type of dialog boxes that you are referring. There is no way for the user to change that behavior. Other, non-Apple, applications like Firefox use a "modal" dialog box for printing etc. The modal boxes can be moved around so you can see the page behind.

Does that mean that I have to remove my iPad from my keyoard case every time I want to use those apps. This issue is only happening on some apps. Also, my iPad is not in the locked position.

You can lock the rotation with the little slider switch located under your volume toggle. however locking rotation is an 'all or nothing' proposition. you can't choose the portrait or landscape in a 'per app' basis.
In addition there are some apps that don't rotate.
When I use an app that wants to be in portrait with my zagg folio I just turn it and hold it that way. the lack of ease of rotation is the oen major downfall of that case.

I'm going to ask this question in a few sub-forums, so if you think you've seen it, you might have.
Where I work I use a program that can print to pdf. We use it to produce mailings, usually postcards, that are addressed.
I often end up with a 500 page document that will print on 250 sheets of cover stock, which will get cut into 1,000 postcard, all pre-addressed and sorted by zip code.
Usually, the address side is all black and the front is color. The printers we use can print a black click on the address side and a color click on the other, IF the pdf is set up that way. Otherwise, both sides will be counted as color clicks.
I know I can select pages individually in a pdf and convert them to grayscale and those pages will be counted by the printer as black clicks, which are cheaper than color clicks.
The problem is, I have not figured out how to convert all the odd numbered pages to grayscale at once. As a result, I usually end up printing the color side simplex, then putting the job back in the tray and printing the black side. Of course, that only works if only one side is personalized, sometimes both sides are.
