ANY Way to Increase TM Back up speed????

I'm fed up with the SLOWNESS of Time Machine Backups, why is it that it's SNAIL slow??? So I went to carbon copy cloner and in FOUR minutes CCC has done more work that TM in 3 HOURS!!!!! WTH!! I'm using WD Firewire External and there is no reason at all that Back up should take a long time, is there any reason at all information is transferring dead slow over FIrewire/USB2 so slow using Timemachine?!?! FIX IT! Cause it is pathetic and a waste of time. and as I'm writing this CCC has done copying over 1.8 GB in 6 minutes, SO APPLE get your people working! Anyone having problems as I am, post please.
If the next update don't fix it, them I'm Totally giving up using timemachine let alone other worthless features of 10.6, I haven't seen this amazing groundbreaking advancement as claimed. pfft.
and yes I'm mad cause as you can see I'm using a MAC PRO and totally disappointed in performance.
anyway rant over....and fyi ccc had copied 4 gb in 13 minutes....

Read them, and node id's are ok,
1. Exclude your TM disk/partition from any anti-virus scanning. (NO ANTI-VIRUS)
2. Exclude it, at least temporarily, from Spotlight (System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy). <- Didn't do, but doubt that's the cause.
3. Do a Repair Disk on your backups, per section #A5 above. <- No Didn't do cause there was only one back up on the disk.
I don't have a Time capsule or external connected to Airport
If backing up to an External hard drive:
7. At least temporarily, de-select Put the hard disk(s) to sleep ... in System Preferences > Energy Saver. <- Nope, Wasn't on.
8. Be sure it's connected directly to your Mac (no hubs, and not the USB port on the keyboard, as some are USB 1.0). <- Direct Firewire 400
9. Try different port(s), cable(s). <-Nope, cable and ports work, cause I rarely use it.
10. See if your drive has an automatic sleep or "spin down" feature you can disable. <- nope.
11. Check the maker's web site (support or forum) for any driver or firmware updates<- Didn't do, but since the drive was only used 3 times I seriously doubt that was the problem.
I just got back home and haven't had the chance to get the widget and it's 1 am now so not gonna go into TM and mess with it this late.
The backups are going in to a WD mybook 500MB External HD.

No, there is not.
A 15 (roughly speaking) cycle is routine on POP accounts. You can't change that. If the RIM servers find new mail, it reverts to 2 minute polling for a couple of cycles and should it find new mail yet again, retains that 2 minute polling cycle until which time it doesn't find new mail waiting, and then reverts back to the 15 minute cycle.

History menu, if it was destroyed in the last session
then use "Restore Previous session:" and then restore all windows also from the history menu.
If done in this session try the restore all windows under the history menu.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

All of the music I imported to my iTunes account on a different computer is gone. It is on my iPad, is there any way to put it back on my computer?

I recently got my computer back from Geek Squad and about three fourths of my iTunes library is gone. All of the music I imported directly to this computer, and all of the music I purchased is here, but most of my library is originally from a family computer. I transferred it to this computer, but since i got it back, iTunes says it can't locate it. We don't have the family computer anymore either.
I do have all the music on my iPad though. Is there any way to transfer it back to my computer?

In short, no. There is no fix yet. They only barely acknowledge there is a problem. The "fix" is to enable 200% UI scaling which makes everything comically huge and unusable. This is pretty much of a joke. A really, really EXPENSIVE joke.

I opened a file to print and by accident highlighted and deleted the content. Then in a panic I closed the file and now when I open it is blank. Is there any way to get it back. I have looked and can not see anyway. I dont have anything in my backup?

I'm not sure about older versions, but in Pages 3.x (OS X 10.9.x) select File > Revert To > Browse All Versions. Hopefully there will be an earlier version that you can "revert to".

Is there any way to get contacts back after them being deleted form iCloud?

My dad recently asked me to update his phone, so I plugged it into my computer to do so. For some reason just doing that resulted in his settings to change to have iCloud contact sync on. This resulted in our contacts syncing so his would show up on my phone and mine on his. He went on to delete all of my contacts from his phone, not realizing they were also being deleted on iCloud (therefore from my phone as well). I don't even understand why my contacts were not saved on my phone in the first place but all transfered to iCloud, but now they are gone from there as well. I tried restoring my phone from a backup on my computer a few weeks ago, however, this just restored everything else except for the contacts. So what I'm asking if there is any way to get contacts back that were ONLY on iCloud (because apparently apple doesn't realize saving something to a single place on the cloud isn't a good backup) but now are deleted. Does iCloud save this sort of information even after it is deleted?

I couldn't see any reason why it would be bad for my particular macbook, and it downloaded without a problem.

In what way is it terrible? Mountain Lion is pretty stable. If you are having problems, most likely they are unique to your particular system and can be fixed. If you don't like some of the new features, that does not constitute reason for a refund.
If that does not suit you, you will have to discuss a refund with Apple, as they are the only ones who can say. Note that the App Store terms do say that all sales are final, so you are not guaranteed a refund, especially since whatever problems you had are not due to defective software.

If the backup is corrupt, there is nothing that can be done.
For what reason did you choose to not copy the pictures off the device to a computer prior to attemping an update or whatever caused the need to restore? iPhones are not intended as sole storage of any media.

You need to delete the ThumbDatabase.db3 file placed at C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0 in Vista/Win 7 and
C:\documents and settings\all users\application support\adobe\photoshop elements\8.0 in XP after closing PSE
Relaunch Editor this will take sometime to launch as it will build the database again. This will bring back the effects deleted accidently from PSE.

You restored your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch?
If so, photos/videos that were in your iPhone's Camera Roll should have been imported by your computer before doing this. You could then transfer these photos/videos back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
