Any way to install on an early 2005 Mac Mini?

Is there some way I can bypass the seemingly artificial restriction by the installer and force installing of iMovie '08? I'm happy to use it at my own risk, accept glitches, not expect Apple to support it.
I frankly cannot believe that a 1.5 GHz machine with 1 gig of RAM should more than meet the Apple's stated system requirements for editing HD video with iMovie HD 6--http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/imoviehd603.html says "1GHz G4 or faster processor and 512MB of RAM," but that the same machine should be incapable of editing standard video with iMovie '08. I want to try it and I'm willing to take my lumps if I'm wrong.
And, yeah, I'm a little p----d. I bought a Mac Mini in early January 2006. Pre-Intel, but the top of the Mac Mini line such as it is. 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, Superdrive, etc. Apple bundled it with iLife '06 and specifically billed it as suitable for video editing, which it is.
My video editing needs are modest, and I would rejoice at the tradeoff of a less capable but easier and faster-to-use iMovie.
I'm locked out of the VERY FIRST UPGRADE offered to me since I bought the machine?

If you hold the mouse button while you power the machine on, the disk will slide out and you can swap in the retail disk.
Then power off, and this time hold down the C key while booting up and it will boot off of the CD and put you in the installer, allow you to partition the disk, etc.

Numerous applications for download and online offer free to nearly free access to Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents, including LibreOffice, OpenOffice, Neo Office, Google Docs, and Zoho Docs. This would be much cheaper than installing a database on your Mac and PC, if Access is not part of the equation.

I love my new Mac but iPhoto and picasa drive me nuts, with windows photo gallery I can see all my folders on pictures directory and move them around and tag or delete them from the program. When I upload a batch if pics I name that folder temp. Then I tag each photo and drag them to the appropriate folders then eventually that folder is empty. Please help me out this is driving me crazy for the past week. I just wish I could install photo gallery on Mac osx without having to install windows??thanks

Has anyone had any success in installing WIndows 7 onto a Mac Mini via Boot Camp using either a USB stick or an external SuperrDrive?

Option 1: Get a USB "Super Drive" and use it to install windoze.
Option 2: Use Parallels Desktop to run windoze.
Option 3: Wait for someone who knows more than I do to tell you how to do it using magic.

Is there really any way to install the updated EFI 1.7 in a Macbookpro Early 2008 ?
I'm sure that the controller is compatible with the SATA II and i really need an update of the EFI in my computer.
On the apple updated EFI page there is even NO Update for my computer model and no information about the EFI ! What's that ???
If someone found a solution for enabling the Sata II in that computer model; please let me know !

Sorry to have post in the wrong part of the forum.
But i whant to know why there is no Firmware update.
Today SSD are really faster than Hard drive and my computer model is limited by Software at 1.5Gb/s but from the chipset (Hardware) ICH8-M AHCI it is capable of 3Gb/s.
(i have screenshots to prove that this chipset can run at 3Gb/s if you dont trust me.)
So, when you say that apple said that it doesn't need an update, i really don't understand how they can say such thing today.
And because it is a "pro" machine wich cost me over 2K€ i think it really deserve, since the controller is capable of better performances.
And still, me and others custommer will really appreciate that update to run their computer faster.

It's a parallel so it runs right on your mac side
It's not quite as fast as native speed, but it's about 90%-95% and works really well for everything except gaming

I can copy the Win 7 install disk to a new freshly formatted HD if needed.
I am unable to install from my Firewire DVD.
It will not work.
I have a NTFS partition ready to go on an internal drive.
If there is a way to do this I would appreciate any help.
I really do not want to put my DVD back in if it can be avoided.

I've done an install off a hard drive, but I was already running Windows on a separate drive partition.
People have put DVD on flash memory, though that is 'maybe' and depends on booting from USB devices.
I routinely put OS X Install DVD on a firewire hard drive and installs quickly (to say nothing of booting in under 60 sec).

If you don't have the Mac files with the disc you can probably still download the installation files and use your serial number from the purchase to activate. Here is a link to CS6 downloads:
