Any way to lock iPod controls on the earphone's remote?

I keep activating the iPod fuction when the iPhone is in my pocket via in-line earphone remote control. I like to keep the earphone plugged in at all times. Any way to temp lock it?

Many people, me included, complain that iPod would "randomly" starts playing songs on their iphone. Most identify this issue as linked to the earphone, and some to their earphone having a mic. Thanks to dj_AmTraX' question, I have realized that (at least in my case), this weird phenomena is caused by accidental pressure on the button that is hidden in the mic.
* 1 pressure on the mic = launch iPod & start/pause playing music
* 2 pressures = jump to next track
* 3 pressures = restart at the beginning of the song and pause
* 4 pressures = previous track
That's a nice feature when needed, but when your mic is in your pocket, it's damned annoying ! I cannot find anything close to "earphone parameters" in the settings, as of OS 4.1 - 8B117. Is there anyway to reconfigure/neutralize what pressing the mic-button does ?

I have 15,000 songs and I have relocated them many times. You can right click/show in finder/explorer on a song in your itunes library to find out where they are (if you don't know). Go to their source folder and move them to an external HD manually. Then I suggest clearing all songs out of your itunes library (control - delete, or command - delete on a mac)(make sure you click "keep files" if it asks). Then dragging everything back in from the new location on the external HD. Just note you'll have to have that external hooked up any time you want to listen to your music.

Any way to Lock the Decoration Free Label in place so that the Clean Up Diagram process doesn't move it soemplace unreasonable? The Clean Up Diagram process moves things to very strange places and often makes the diagram more complicated than it needs to be.
There should be a way to lock a Decoration Free Label in a location that the Clean Up Diagram will not move it somewhere else.
Is there such a feature?
How do you get your Decorations to stay where you put them even after Clean Up Diagram?

If you turn OFF multi-taskng, your toddler won't be able to "swipe" between Apps.
I don't know of any way to disable the "Home" button though.

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this.

Any way to lock text message forwarding?

I need to monitor my son's phone activity. I've already set up restrictions, locked out the app store to keep him from downloading other texting/messaging apps, and locked user account changes for imessages. I set up text forwarding so that any messages he gets I'm getting too, but I don't see any way to lock it so he can't turn that off. Am I missing something or does Apple not provide that in their parental controls? I want him to be able to text, I just want to make sure I'm able to monitor the content. Another option would be if there's a way to prevent him from deleting his messages so I can look at them on the phone? Thanks

No, you cannot prevent turning off Forwarding in the Messages app, nor prevent deleting messages.

Any way to link a controls' custom shortcut menu to a new .rtm file?

My project programmatically generates controls from a template. The template has a custom shortcut menu that is saved in the project directory, and the generated controls all work fine with this. However, now I need to be able to export the project to other directories/machines, and so now the generated controls can no longer 'find' the .rtm shortcut file, despite it being in the same folder as the control. This means if I want to be able to use the menu I have to open every generated control (which there can be hundreds of) and right-click -> advanced -> run-time shortcut menu -> and then reopen the file.
Is there any way to programmatically link a controls' shortcut menu to a new .rtm file, or is there any way to set a controls' custom shortcut file as a relative path instead of an absolute one?

It is possible to use the onClick -> go to State and set states on a custom component or any of its subcomponents.
Catalyst does not currently support linking to a local files.

There is no way to lock the built-in email app. You can remove the password from the Mail, Calendars, Contacts settings, but you'd have to readd and remove that every time, probably not very practical. There are third-party apps that have a login feature within the app, so one of those might work for you. Or you can just use a web interface to your email, if your provider offers that, though many web interfaces don't work very well with mobile web browsers.
Alternatively, if your students just use a single app at any given time, you can lock the iPad to that app via Guided Access:

My 3-yr old son has recently deveopled a penchant for deleting apps off our iPad. Is there any way to "lock" apps in a way that, say, a password is needed to delete them?
I'm getting tired of having to re-load everything after he's done with it.

Do not give him the restrictions passcode of course.
