Any way to not display movies in My Movies?

Hey all,
I know you can setup parental controls to not allow the viewing of movies over a certain rating, but is there any way (or trick) to prevent movies of certain ratings from even displaying (unless the code is entered)?

I think it's a bit like what people have been complaining about with parental controls not preventing cover art/posters for films unsuitable for minors - parental controls might stop someone watching the film but not seeing it's available with cover art.
It's not much different to viewing iTunes stoe in iTunes 9.0 and perhaps earlier.
I mean I click on films (UK=movies elsewhere) and get the posters for Orphan, Terminator Salvation, Drag Me to ****, Blood the Last something and Wolverine mixed with Ice Age, Hannah montana etc

Yup -- if you've installed the Desktop Software and enabled Mass Storage Mode, then your BB should appear as another drive letter in Windows...and you can treat it just like any other USB drive.

I'm using the Blog layout in iWeb for a calendar.
Somewhere in this discussion forum, I found how to sort the entries by increasing date (many thanks for that).
The question I have: Is there a way of not displaying entries in the Blog overview of which the date is in the past ?

On the new computer, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click click Store / Authorize This Computer.
Then re download your iTunes purchases.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Is there any way to not use the plugin container for firefox? Ever since I updated, my firefox browser has been crashing almost every day and it always says that the plugin container crashed, but the rest of firefox freezes up as well, so I am forced to end the process itself.

Just thought i'd mention that you can do this much more easily by using a program like mp3Tag (free) where you can batch rename file tags. In other words, you can select all your files and change all the albums to blank or whatever you want in one process. take care

It is possible for the recipent not to have your name for your number in their address book for your contact info, but the recipent must do that.
So does that mean just my number will show when i send a text to the person using an android phone?

Have you ever received a text from a phone number that is not in your address book? If so, what do you see? You should see the phone number only. The same applies for someone you are sending a text to.

Extinction of MobileMe Galleries...any way to NOT move them to Aperture?

As with many (former) mobileMe users, I've received the usual automated warnings about the end of mobileMe services and already prepared for the transition by making alternative arrangements for sharing pictures.
My master images, as well as the specific group selections of pictures used for my former mobileMe galleries are alive and well in at least one if not several places (multiple backups), and so I have neither the need nor the desire nor the room on my hard drive to waste on downloading my mobileMe galleries back to any of my machines.
Is there any way to STOP Aperture from doing this? I'd like my application back, ThankYouVeryMuch. I can brute force things by turning off AirPort, but that's ridiculous. Whatever happened to letting users, you know, remain in charge of their applications and files?!?

In both iPhoto and Aperture I went into preferences and deleted my MM accounts then emptied the trash of the versions. Haven't had the pop up notifications since.

I only want the movies in my Movie folder to show up in Front Row. Right now the movies in thr Movie folder are relegated to the bottom, after a long list of the mpeg4 files that I have in iTunes. These are lower res. movies to watch on my small iPod screen, whereas the higher res movies in my Movie folder are for watching on my large monitor. Is there a way to eliminate the list of iTunes mpeg4 movies from the Front Row menus (or at least combining them into one folder)?

Hi Marty J. I tried what you said, but all my iTunes Movies still form a longlist at the beginning of Front Row's Movie selection.
Incidentally, unless I misunderstood you, you can't "change" the "Show" box to anything. All I could do was to type "iPod Movies" into the "Show" box. Afterwards, FR shows no category called "iPod Movies" and all of my iPod movies still create a long list before I finally reach the movies of my "Movie" folder (i.e., Users>username>Movies). I want the contents of the Users>username>Movies folder to show up at the top of the list in Front Row. I don't want to have to scroll all the way thru 60+ iPod movies before I get to this folder's contents. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I have a number of (mostly children's) movies in my iTunes video library. Some I've downloaded from the iTunes store, and other's I've ripped and added the artwork myself. I'd like to create a collage of the artwork for my kid.

No, it's simply not possible to crack the encryption or turn it off short of entering the encryption passcode during the restore process.

Hi,. I have taken a number of photos (accidentally) as movies. I synced them to the computer, then deleted them off the phone, not realising they were movies until I was going to get them printed. Since then I have found an app for the iphone that converts movies to still photos but the app is only suitable to work on the iphone. Is there any way I can sync the movies back to the iphone, or is there another way of converting the movies to still photos on the computer? My computer is a MacBook Pro, with mountain lion. The movies are now in iPhoto, I also have Aperture. Thankyou.

Any way to not pan in a slide show?

Hi, my daughter needs to create a slide show of her life and we found that panning on some slides will sometimes zoom in and not show faces or other important features of an image.
Is there any way to turn panning off and just show the entire slide statically?
Is there any way to guarantee that the important aspect of a slide is always shown - without cropping the slide too much?

Yes you can turn off the Ken Burns Effect as the panning is called. On the toolbar, click on Slideshow, then Settings, then Uncheck 'Automatic Ken Burns Effect'.
Unfortunately, you'll have to uncheck it for each slideshow you make.

Any way to NOT import JPEGs with RAWs?

When I import RAW files from my camera, Aperture imports the JPEG images as well but keeps it hidden from view. I dug into the Aperture Vault to check out what was going on, and it stores the 4-5 MB JPEG alongisde each RAW file. I can't see the reason for this. I'm not interested in these crappy JPEGs and they are just taking up room on my hard drive. Is there any way to get Aperture to not import the JPEGs when importing RAW files?

me, i NEVER import directly from card to program ... EVER ...
last week i needed to shoot RAW+JPG, only because i needed quick access to some JPGs and didn't have aperture handy ...
when i returned i copied my card contents to a desktop folder (like i always do) and used the search box and entered JPG ... then i deleted every one - they had served their purpose ... then i dupped the folder of RAW files and then imported into aperture ... no JPGs imported ...
seriously the only way to not have aperture import the JPG with the RAW is to weed out the JPGs (or not shoot RAW+JPG - but i already covered that)

Currently, if I send an email to our "IT" list, and I'm on the "IT" list, I get a copy of my own email sent back to me. This seems silly to me. I know I've used some program in the past that was smart enough not to do that
but I don't recall if Exchange/Outlook has the ability to not do that.

An outlook rule or hub transport rule to delete messages sent from you should do it. In the old Exchange/Outlook days, it didnt do that, yes.
