Any way to obtain replacement copy of CS2?

Migrated to a new PC...trouble is, I cannot find my copy of CS2 to install on new machine. It was actually an upgrade from CS that I had downloaded...somewhere...I called Adobe and was told they cannot supply a replacementI would need to upgrade to CS3 (which I'm not interested in at the moment). I find this hard to believe...have I been informed correctly? Any ideas how to obtain a replacement (not interested in cracks, btw)?
OR can someone tell me the exact filename of the original download so I can refine my search on my old PC?
Thanks!

The US English download of the CS2 upgrade for Windows has the file name "PhSp_CS2_UE_Upg.zip". If you find this on your computer and try to install it, you will need to have your serial number, of course. You will also need to have the earlier version from which you upgraded.

    Hi Robingo,
Excel is strictly treated as a data source and Siena only imports the data in your tables, not the formatting.
If there is some business logic behind the formatting, you could mimic the same logic in Siena. For example, the font is bold or red if a value is in a certain range, the font is in italics if the data is for a specific customer, etc.
    Thanks

Import photos without copying? I Have thousands of photos on a hard drive separate from my mac and i dont have enough space on my mac to copy them to. Any way to import without copying to the local hard drive?

Yes, but you might want to think carefully about it.
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing. The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
This is an attractive option for some users at face value, but it contains a significant number of issues that you might want to consider before making the decision to run a Referenced Library
    How to do it:
iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck the box at 'Copy items to the iPhoto Library'
Now when you import iPhoto makes an alias in the Library Package that points to the stored file. Note: iPhoto still creates a thumbnail of the image and it makes a Preview of edited photos inside the Library Package.
    Issues?
    1. You are responsible for file management. That's more work:
You must first move the files from your camera to the storage location before importing.
If you want to delete files then you must first trash them from iPhoto and then afterwards find them in your storage and trash them.
Thereafter, you cannot move the files on early versions of iPhoto at all, on iPhoto 08 and later you may move them on the same Volume or Disk. If you move them to a new volume or disk the aliases my break. If they are on an different volume and you move them the aliases will break.
    You cannot rename the files.
Migrating: moving to a new machine, moving the files to another disk are all a lot more complex.
    2. You gain no extra functionality from running a Referenced Library. Nothing. This is just storage. You still manage the files via iPhoto. You edit them with iPhoto or via iPhoto's External Editor setting, otherwise you're changes will not be available in iPhoto. You don't save  byte of storage space.
    3.  If you have the Library on one volume and the photos on another you if anything changes in the path to a file (Like if you upgrade your machine, move the files on the NAS or on to another one?) then the alias will break, and you'll have to repair it manually. For every photo in the Library. One at a time.
Why do you want to run a Referenced Library?
Because my photos won't fit on my HD?
You can run a Managed library from an external disk. Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
You're worried about accessing the files?
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Any way to import a copy of a photo with the same name without renaming?

I organize all my photos in my picture folder on my desktop, and I sometimes copy and paste the same photo into different folders so that I can use them for different purposes without having to hunt them down. I've never had to rename them as long as I've put them into a new folder, but when I imported my picture files into Lightroom 3, it only took the first copy of any picture and left out the other copies in subsequent folders. Is there any way to fool Lightroom into importing them without having to go back and rename all of them?
Thanks so much for any help!

Thanks for the tip . . . I found the checkbox and it worked just fine!
The reason I store multiple copies of the same photo is because I edit photos for my daughter's online business. I always keep an original folder that does not get touched, then make copies of the photos I am going to edit for her in a seperate folder so that I know exactly which ones I'm working with (I don't edit ALL the photos). Once I make my edits, I store the edits in her business file (since she does not need any of the others) and delete the copies; therefore leaving my originals untouched. I was trying to pull some "edits in progress" into LR to throw a preset on them, and it wouldn't allow me to because it had already downloaded the original in a previous folder. Maybe not the best way to organize photos, but it seems to have worked so far. Especially with the volume of photos I deal with for my daughter's business as well as my personal stuff. Another reason I make copies of the same photo is when I'm downloading photos to Facebook. They are not always contained in the same folder, so I make a copy of the photos I want for FB then just edit and download that folder. When I'm done, I delete it after moving the edits. But there may come a time I'll want to pull that folder into LR just to work on those selected photos. Hence the need for duplicates.
I just got LR3 yesterday, and my instructional book should arrive today. I plan on reading it and hopefully it will provide a better way to organize my folders if you say this is not a good idea. I have no idea what "virtual" folders are, but definitely plan on looking in to it. Thanks so much for your advice!

  • Any way to change/replace EXIF data like the original date of photo?

I'm importing into Lightroom several thousand photos I took with my first digital camera, back in 2000-2004. It's all gone very smoothly. But here's my problem:
In my old workflow, photos I spent time editing wound up as TIF files, and whatever program I used to edit them stripped out the EXIF information from them. As a result, for example, a photo which was actually taken on March 4, 2001 will have EXIF information showing it was taken on March 10, 2001, the date on which I edited it and made the TIF. All of the other EXIF data is stripped as well, the exposure data, lens information, ISO, whether the flash fired, etc. The TIF file basically seems to have no EXIF data other than the file size and my name.
I can live without the other info, really, but the changing of the information about the original date/time means that the TIF file doesn't sort next to the original file in Lightroom, which I'd like it to do. There's not thousands of photos for which I have TIFs, just a few hundred at most.
Is there any way, with a plug-in or some external program, to copy the EXIF information from the original program and insert it into the TIF file?

    I'd suggest just using ExifTool.
    The command is:
         exiftool -tagsFromFile {SRCFILE} {DESTFILE}
So, if you have a tif sans exif named my.tif, and an original jpg with exif named my.jpg, it would be:
         exiftool -tagsFromFile my.jpg my.tif
There may be a batch-y way to do this with exiftool, or you could make your own batch file to do this in bulk...
    Main link: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
    Examples: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/exiftool_pod.html#copying_examples
PS - To sync changes from files into catalog, use 'Read Metadata from File' function on Library Metadata menu.

There's no warranty for lost items. You lose it, you buy new. You should be able to get Apple earpods at any authorized reseller or the online store.

  • Is there any way to obtain time from an NTP server in LabView?

I would like to be able to obtain time from and NTP server and then use that to set the time on a PCI IRIG-B card. I haven't been able to find any LabView documentation indicating if this is possible or not through LabView.

Check: Code library -> Browse by Company -> NASA -> Timesync.
It's a NIST time syncronizer. I never checked it myself, but NIST has NTP servers so this may help you on your way.

  • Is there any way Apple will replace my Macabook pro late 2011 version?

I really dont know what the REAL defect of my macbook pro,it has always the same problem : NO POWER!, My unit shuts down automatically and doesn't turn on. The MagSafe's led blinks to red and green whenever i connect it to my MacBook pro . I brought it to a service center here in the Philippines for 3 times to be exact, the first time i brought it they said that the battery was just drained the same as the 2nd time. . And for the 3rd time they figured out that the logic board is the problem so they did replace it. When I received the unit, for only 8 hours my MacBook pro shuts down again, given that it is connected to MagSafe. Any suggestions or options? I just bought it last October,  and it is still under warranty..

Since it's still under warranty, bring it back and have them check the battery.  Maybe the battery needs to be replaced too.
One more thing, since you're running on 220 volts, bring your magsafe adapter too.  To make sure that it's not your adapter that's causing the problem.
Please note; depending on which part of the Philippines you live in, make sure you have a surge protector when plugging in your MB Pro.  I know for a fact from experience, that there are power fluctuations in Manila when I went there for a visit.
Maybe your MB got spiked when your electrical current fluctuates.  ( just a thought )

What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • HT2020 we upgraded to Lion and lost iChat.  Is there any way to continue with iChat?

We use iChat for conference calls.  When we upgraded to Lion it was replaced with facetime so it appears we lost the ability to use iChat.  It does not appear facetime allows conference calls (more than 2 locations to connect at the same time).  Is there any way to obtain a multipul connection so we can continue with multipul connections?

    HI,
Lion = OS X 10.7.x and comes with iChat 6
Mountain Lion = OS X 10.8.x and comes with Messages.
    Messages is iChat +
The Plus bit is the iMessages Service from the iOS stable.
It is compatible with Messages on the iPhone and iPad.
It takes an Apple ID to "register" with the iMessages service.
However all the "Accounts" you had with AIM or Jabber work just the same in Messages.
By default the Buddy lists are combined (but can be unlinked in the general section of the Preferences) are are not on show at the App Start.
As the Other thread says you get sent to Make your iMessages Registration first before looking at what were iChat Logins.
From your Buddy Lists you can make the same 3 or 4 way Video chats you did in iChat.

  • Any way to salvage a page that was overwritten?

    Hi everyone,
I work on a website where I use CS4 and someone else in the company uses Dreamweaver.
I had been updating a page (for about 5 days) and then today it was back to the original version (from 5 days ago).  I'm guessing my coworker overwrote it in Dreamweaver,
At one time I had the page open in Firefox as well.  Is there any way to see a copy of the page I had been updating?

I guess your website has no connection a version control like Subversion. And the web page was Edited - Modified - Published before it was over written.
Please check with the Administrator if Rollback is enabled for the website.
If yes then you can click File - Actions - Roll Back to previous Version and check the web page version you published is available.
    Hope this helps

  • Is there any way to get "voice memo" (the iPhone/ipod touch app) onto our new iPad 3?

I know there are apps in the app store that will have similar functionality, but I want Apple's original "Voice Memo" app for it's reliability, automatic syncing with iTunes on our other devices, ability to trim easily, and the overall interface.  I'd be willing to pay a purchase price, but I don't see any way of obtaining it... I'm a bit irritated as I thought this would have come standard as it did on my old iPod Touch. (I see it's still standard on iPhone and iPod Touch, too!)

No Voice Memos app by Apple on the iPad. I downloaded one from the App Store from another developer that is nearly identical.
