Any way to prevent purchased items from syncing with iPhone music?

My kids buy a ton of crap music. I have configured my iPhone to only sync selected artists, playlists, and albums. But the purchased crap still shows up and I have to navigate through them.
Is there a setting where I can filter these out from the sync process?

By purchased crap you mean this music on your iPhone includes an iCloud icon?
If so, on your iPhone go to Settings > Music > Show All Music > Off.

Just a random question. Whenever my MacBook Pro starts up (either from sleep or a complete/fresh start, the OS queries the drive slot to see if there is a disc present. we have a filter in web.xml. Now we want to prevent it from any change in future. I mean after making a war(EAR) no one can change the filter in web.xml. if he chaged it then he will not be able to re deploy the application.Right now it is in web.xml so one can easily change it and then he can redeploy the application.

I think you could use some third party software to lock the folder like FolderLock, just make sure others ppl cannot access your file should be fined.

Not at development level. We want it after deploying the application on server .
We want to create it (web.xml) at tomcat startup (or in any other web/app server ) before loading any context.
Is there any way to run a simple java class(not servlet) on tomcat startup(before initializing the contexts)?

Yes, if you have iCloud set up on your phone and computer, then reminders will be synced through iCal.

There is no way to prevent someone from powering off your phone. It seems like you are already aware of the ability to set a passcode lock. Be advised even when locked on the passcode screen the phone is still communicating with the cell network.

Whenever I programmatically add rows through a property node I can still go into the front panel and keep adding additional rows through the table. Is there any way to prevent this "excess scrolling"? Maybe grey out the rows or something?

You should be able to right click on the table on the front panel and select
Visible Items>>Horizontal Scrollbar or Vertical Scrollbar
You could also consider changing their visibility programmatically using a property node for the control or indicator that you are referencing. You can create the property node by right clicking on the control on the block diagram and selecting
Create>>Property Node>>Visible Items>>Horizontal Scrollbar or Vertical Scrollbar

In Firefox 3.6.10 I was able to go forward and backwards between pages without the page defaulting to the top of the page. Is there any way to prevent the page from automatically moving to the top when using the forwards and back buttons in Firefox Four?

I like to be able to navigate backwards and forwards without having to scroll down and find where I was previously. In Firefox Four, when using the forwards and back buttons, the page will automatically return to the top of the page. Any way to prevent macbook air from sleeping when lid closed?

I believe there is no way to keep your macbook/air running when you shut the lid.
I am running a background job where I am downloading a huge amount of data from the internet, which is coming through slowly (other applications could be where I am running a web server....). I want the machine to be running, but not keep the lid open - since I might want to move the laptop, not leave the screen/keyboard exposed.
Where can I request Apple to add support for this behavior? Or did they anticipate this request in Mountain Lion already?
Any suggestions? Others who would like the same feature?

Any way to prevent a formula from going bad?

I work mostly in 2008, so I'm not sure if that has happened to me in XI, but I'm wondering if the following has happened to anyone else . . . and if you know how to avoid it:
I created a report on a database that does not change (it's a copy used for year-end reporting then archived). It took a number of attempts to get it to work the way I needed it to, but once I did, the totals tied with other reports.
Then this morning I ran the report and the totals were different. I finally tracked it down to the record selection formula. There was nothing wrong with the formula, but the report was not picking up 3 records. I rebuilt the report from scratch and now the totals are correct again.
I've had this happen with formulas, too, where a formula stops evaluating and returns 0. The only way to fix it is to delete it then re-write it from scratch to get it to evaluate.
Has anyone run across this? And do you have any idea how I can prevent it?

Hi Laura,
Which version of MS SQL Server? What can happen is as Microsoft updates their MDAC ( Data Access Component ) it could change the way CR gets info and thus sends the SQL to the database. Exactly the cause is not know without using ODBC logging and crlogger to capture all of the DB API's CR is using. Crlogger is a logging component we created to help debug problems and is not shipped by default.
You could try using OLE DB and the MS Native driver to see if that helps. MS SQL uses OLE DB as it's native connection method so using ODBC adds an extra layer on top of the client and things can get lost in translation... On the extreme there are also file system issues where network and hard driver writes can flip a bit but those are impossible to detect and resolve. Other than what you have discovered, deleting and adding it back in.
In any event I don't think there really is anyway to ultimately stop all errors due to so many third party dependencies. Sometimes they can be the cause from some other user making changes without your knowledge, not that I'm saying this is the case but in general it can happen.
One new feature in CR 2010 and soon to be released the full CR Designer 2011 is they both have a new feature called Read Only Mode. That file type can not be modified at all by anyone or the system. May be a solution for you going forward.
There are also third party tools like Source Safe that uses a Database to check in and check out reports and other things so you always have a back up.... but can be a pain to manage and set up...

Any way to stop Data Synchronizer from syncing every folder?

SLES 11 64 bit for VMware.
Groupwise connector 1.0.3.512
Mobility connector 1.0.3.1689
I have "folders" unchecked every place you can uncheck them.
Still the Groupwise connector insists on syncing every single folder in a user's cabinet and contacts (even the ones that are unselected in the Groupwise connector->user edit section).
I do *not* mean that it force syncs these folders to the device, just that it syncs them into the "folder list" section that you can monitor from Mobility Connector->Monitor->Click on user name.
Most of our users have dozens of folders, and all the scrolling makes it kind of a pain to monitor the folder (ONE) and address books (usually 1-2) that they are syncing. Also, it seems like adding a ton of unneeded work to the system, and it eats up a pretty good chunk of CPU.
