Any way to preview a forum on my homepage?

I am creating a site for my local cycling club. We have a
forum that we post to. Is there a way to see on our homepage (that
is not a part of the forum) if there are new posts to the forum, or
even have a frame that shows the forum topics?

There is an add-on for phpbb called Topics Anywhere which
enables this.

  • Extension compatibility with new releases - any way to preview?

I have dozens of add-ons & whenever I upgrade to the current release, a number of them, some I consider critical, don't update. Is there any way to determine before hand which if any of my add-ons aren't compatible - other than, of course, checking out each one by hand in the add-on search.
I guess what I'm asking for is a utility that can scan all my add-ons and either show those that won't be compatible with a particular Firefox update, or that will at least list the latest acceptable Firefox version for each add-on (i.e. the max version). Then I can decide whether or not I want to upgrade.
And, yes, I can always back off to an older version if I have to, but that's a pain.
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
== whenever a new version of firefox is installed

  • Any way to preview document for web at 72dpi?

I do mostly work for print, but today was asked to save a web graphic created by one of our designers in InDesign. Unfortunately, our designer created something that looks good on screen, but when saved to a png or jpeg, is completely unusable (type too small, unreadable). The file was created at the proper dimensions (95px x 150px), but since he only viewed it @ high resolution on screen and printout, and didn't view it @ the actual pixel dimensions, we now have to completely recreate this job.
Is there a way to preview the current document in InDesign on screen at a specific resolution, so that he will know what the final product will look like without having to export it?

If you are using CS6 choose web intent when you create a new document and set the Page Dimension to the desired pixel dimensions. Then double click the Magnifier tool to set the view to a 1:1 screen to pixel ratio.
If you are using an earlier version set your rulers to pixels or points and set the view at 100%

  • Any way to preview Tablet and Mobile layouts ?

When I scale my browser window I don't see the Tablet and Mobile views take effect.  Is there an easy way to test these pages ?

    Hi,
If you shrink or expand your browser width, the site will not show the phone or tablet layout. You need to use their url, an example is given below
if you want to access about.html, then you should have three version,
    www.mysite.com/about.html (For desktop site)
    www.mysite.com/phone/about.html (For Phone)
    www.mysite.com/tablet/about.html (For Tablet
Use three url to access three version of your site,
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Any way to use News Group Reader for Discussions?

After the last few days of slow forums and the loss of notifications of posts... just curious. Is there any way to view these forums with a news group reader like Entourage or Halime or any Apple product?
If not... it would be nice...

    Jefferis,
Hopefully you will no longer need this as Apple Discussions performance has improved greatly, but I will point out that you can create RSS feeds from search queries.
Unfortunately there has never been enough requests for newsgroup access for us to invest it. We get about one request per year.
    Kind regards,

  • Is there any way to have OS 10.5.8 mail leave a photo as attachment in the same orientation as it is in Preview?

Is there any way to have OS 10.5.8 mail leave an attached photo in the same orientation as it is in Preview?

First, to answer the question, I took the photo with a Canon camera but did not choose to use the Canon software to download the photo to my desktop.  I just did a select and drag to a new folder on my desktop from the sd card.  Canon has some software called Imagebrowser that may be used for this, but I took the simpler route.
I have not come across what you called the EXIF orientation before and have no idea how to access it.  What software is needed to determine the EXIF orientation?  Sorry I'm so far behind on this.  I usually used Photoshop and iPhoto to enhance photos.
By the way, I imported the photo into iPhoto then attached it to the email and the orientation didn't change.  It was the same in the attachment in Mail as it was in iPhoto.  I just don't want to have to go through that extra step every time I attach a photo.
Thanks for your help so far.  How do I get the EXIF orientation?

  • I lost text I entered in a text box when Firefox crashed and did not have Lazarus installed. I had clicked 'preview' before it crashed. Any way to get it back?

I figured it must be somewhere in my history. I've tried checking the caches but no luck. It must be somewhere, because I did click preview multiple times before it crashed and the text was there loaded on the webpage. Is there any way I can get that text back? It was a few hours' work.

I have a 1.5TB external hard drive and it shows iPhoto, iDVD, iTunes, etc., but it doesn't allow me to open any of them. How can I see what's in these icons if it won't open because it's in a Time Machine backup?
How old is this Time Machine backup? Is it current?
To be able to use applications and your iPhoto library and iTunes library you need to restore them from the Time Machine backup.  To get your photos back, you need to restore the iPhoto Library from your Pictures folder, and to reinstall the iPhoto application.
This would have best been done, when you reinstalled the system using Setup assistant. http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html
Did the Tech Guy not use your Time Machine backup to restore your Mac?
Since you already set up your Mac, you can use the Migration Assistant from Applications > Utilities to restore your old files to a new user account.
    http://pondini.org/OSX/MigrateLion.html
To reinstall iPhoto: Did iPhoto originally come preinstalled on your Mac, and what was the MacOS X version that came with your Mac?  Or did you buy the iLife installer package?

I have downloaded a free trial of Acrobat XI Pro  --  and that too makes no difference.

That'd be associated with trying to connect to the server(s) for one of the Adobe online subscription services.
    (Edit PDF or PDF Pack)
These online services are separate and independent of the desktop application Acrobat.
It appears that you have had / are having internet connection issues.
    Be well...

I cannot preview the iBooks I am creating on my MacBook because my iPad is "supervised" by my employer's computer. Is there any way around this?

Email your .ibook file to your supervisor; put your .ibook file on a server and use whatever iPad to navigate there via Safari, then download and open using iBooks.

  • Any way to stop being logged out of the forums every 10 minutes?

Since the recent alteration of the forum, I keep getting logged out. Is there any way to increase the time or keep me logged in at all?

    ben...........
Not in Safari, The timeout length is ±30 minutes. I found that it is particularly annoying when composing a post, as it will not Post when logged out in the middle of composition.
I use Firefox and a FF add-on called "Reload Every" - applied to a tab or window, I set it to 'Custom' 20 minutes. You must apply it every time you start FF (from the 'context' menu (ctrl+click). Note that the Tab or window needs to remain open at all times (could hide it in the Dock) for it to work. I haven't been logged out since adding it to FF
The very good reason for the login timeout is that some people use their devices in very public places - school, work, coffee shop, etc. - and may walk away from it (particularly a desktop) for a period   Because AppleID is used in the iStore(s), being logged in may become a security risk,
NOTE: There is also a time limit to be able to Edit your post. That seems to be ±15 minutes

  • Is there any way to fix it so my computer will stop "rebuffering" when I preview a song on itunes.

When I preview a song on itunes it will play for only a couple of seconds and then it "rebuffers".  It does this constantly.  I do not have this issue when I preview a song on Amazon or if I listen to Pandora radio.  Is there any way to fix this?
    Thank you.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If that doesn't work we may have to reinstall AW6...

  • Any way to resolve the loss of preview when saving from cc to cs6

I have a massive job that was done in cloud, that now needs to be changed in cs6, it is a catalogue, so loads of pics, any way to make the previews visible without manually relinking every pic?

    What's your Display Performance Setting?
If they are not originally in the same folder with the doc they won't automatically update, either, unless the prefs are set to do that on open. It's an option that some folks turn off in order to be able to edit without the links and not have to wait for ID to search for them unsuccessfully.

  • Is there any way to disable preview-icons & fileinfo for connected drives?

Is there any way to disable preview-icons & fileinfo for connected drives?
i.e. when i'm connecting to SMB share, and i see .mp4 file, i see icon change to video-frame.
and when i see folder, i see "5 items"
and i wanna disable it per-dir or per-connect.

    Praveen-
The dispatcher caches the entire HTTP response body, so doing what you are describing actually requires two steps:
    1) Loading the non-cacheable component through Ajax (or some other edge side assembly technology like ESI)
    2) Including the Dispatcher: no-cache header in the response when that component is requested.
#1 is pretty easy to do with jQuery
    #2 is covered here: http://dev.day.com/content/kb/home/Dispatcher/faq-s/DispatcherNoCache.html
You will probably want to use the WCMMode to only do the dynamic loading on the publish server.
