Any way to recover disappeared stickies??

This might not be the right place for this question, but I'm not sure where it should be.
I had a bunch of important notes saved in Stickies. (Not the best place, I know..) I quit the application for a while, which I've done before with no problems, but just now when I come back and reopen it every single note I had is gone. I have no idea why or how this happened.
I'm literally crying over losing those notes. Is there any way to get what was on there back??

Then I’m afraid you’re out of luck. But this would be a good time to think about backing up your computer. The question is not IF you will suffer data loss, but WHEN. I’m not talking about this (supposedly) one-time issue with Stickies, but rather about losing everything due to a defective HD. Get yourself an external FireWire or USB harddisk and Time Machine does the rest!
Sorry, but if you don’t have a backup containing an older state of your Stickies Database then there’s nothing you can do. The only thing I can think of right now, would be that the file is still there, but has wrong permissions. Use cmd+i on the file and see if you have read/write privileges.

Is there any way to recover a deleted sparse bundle?

I had an old sparsebundle (380GB) saved onto an external drive.
I wanted to keep this old sparsebundle,
but when I went to run a new Time Machine backup to this external drive it deleted the old sparsebundle.
Is there any way to recover this deleted sparsebundle.
As I began to run the new Time Machine backup, it changed the name of the old sparsebundle
from xxxxx.sparsebundle
to xxxx.purgeable
then POOF it disappeared.
I cancelled the new Time Machine backup as soon as I saw the file extension change to .purgeable,
but even though the new Time Machine backup didn't seem to start (I cancelled it in time),
the old sparsebundle is gone.
I ran Data Rescue and all it could find is a file that is only a few KILObytes called xxxxx.in_process.
It would take a long time for the 380GB sparsebundle to be overwritten,
so I don't think that happened.
But can the old sparsebundle be recovered (and be usable)?

A sparsebundle is a disk image.. if the actual file info is wiped then I really doubt you can recover it. Since you ran a recovery software which has worked recovering stuff for me.. and it couldn't find it.. your only hope would be real data recovery centre.. but although they can get raw data off the disk how useful it would be is questionable.. sorry but I think it is gone.

I've had the same problem, synced yesterday and I've lost all my events in my calendar. I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

That exclamation mark is displayed when iPhoto cannot link to the original file. First make sure you are running a "managed" library by checking iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to make sure the checkbox to copy files into the library during import is checked.

If it is checked you can try the following: make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Adobe Reader XI did not save the form data (unlike previous versions). Any way to recover filled form with data from temp locations?
I was not aware that ctrl+s no longer works in reader and closed the PDF after savign it(with ctrl+s). However ,the data is lost and there seems to be no way to recover it.
I cannot find any temp files created by Reader on my system.
Also to my surprize(and shock), the reader did not even show a warning before closing the PDF. Does anybody know if/where can I recover the file from?

Are you using Adobe Reader XI? And not Acrobat. It does not ask me to save the form if there are unsaved changes.
I have used previous versions of reader for saving this form data and it did allow me to save it with ctrl+s. And those versions did prompt me to save the changes before closing.
I guess I should not have updated the reader.

Regardless of application, the first step that I take is to save and name the current document — even if it has no content yet. With Pages, this good habit enables autosave. As you add content, your document revision history is restorable via the File Revert To menu. The delete key has the same document foreboding as only teaching a pet raven to speak "Nevermore."
