Any way to remove all on-the-go playlists???

I would like to remove the on teh go playlist from my 80gig classic. How would I go about doing that?

You can delete certain songs from an On-the-Go playlist by going to the on-the-go playlist and find the song you wish to delete and hold down the Center button until the song flashes. It should be deleted.

Any way to remove or disable the e-mail program?

I'm using a few ipads in a public setting and we're trying to lock it down to a company app as much as possible. I found how to restrict Safari, so customer can't use it for browsing, but I haven't found any way to delete or restrict the e-mail app - so if a customer gets to the home page, they have been able to add an e-mail address, and believe me, they are not smart enough to delete it, so they walk away with all their account info signed in - nice huh....

You can't delete email but you can configure the iPad so that a password is required to make it functional. There's a lot of restrictions information in Chapter 19 of the 4.2 User Guide. Pages 147 and 148 address your specific concerns.

Is there any way to remove "sudo" from the server?

sudo can do a lot of things which root can do. I tried the following to remove, but got failed message. Is there any graceful way?
Or, maybe I don't have to remove it, by default, nobody can use sudo to run root only commands, unless I give them priviledge to do so by using "visudo", right?

The idea of the sudo command is to give a user root access without the need to tell them the root password. When the user is not already root the sudo command will ask the user for the current user account password. This is to prevent that someone uses the sudo command in case your session gets hijacked. There is usually a default timeout. As long as you enter another sudo command within 5 minutes of the last sudo command, you won't have to enter your password.
The visudo command is typcially used to edit the /etc/sudoers file, which defines which users or groups are allowed to use the sudo command and to which commands or group of commands it applies. For instance if you make an entry in the /etc/sudoers file to allow a certain user to use all commands, then the user can enter "sudo su -" to become root without having to know the root password.

Any way to remove all "apps" for all users?`

I get that the new start menu is a compromise, and it's neat that it's "back."
What I'm not clear on, is if it's possible to remove/hide the "apps" for all users.
I'm not keen on having all users have all of these, especially in a corporate environment.
Would be preferable to have none, except for perhaps what's "allowed" by admins.
Standard office users, power users, devs, artists, accountants, most folks at work simply don't have a use for most of these apps. I also don't want bandwidth constantly being used by any of the live tiles. If a user wants to know the weather, they can go to
weather.com. If they want news, this is also available via any number of sites.
The other compromise of having apps "windowed" is also nice, but for an office environment, I just don't see people firing up a sandboxed calculator app (or, any of the other built-in ones).
Sorry, but honestly, I'd honestly just like to know if it's possible to set up a GPO, or use some other method to get the "apps" out of the way of the "standard office user."

Meanwhile, I have two thoughts on this if you are planning your environment:
One: a customized image.
Two: customize default profile.
For the first thought, you can uninstall all provisioned windows store app and then deploy this image to your environment. Of course, you can do this in an online system as well.

Is there any way to play all songs in a playlist folder on an iPod/iPhone?

iTunes allows you to play all songs from a specific playlist folder, but so far I haven't figured out a way to do that on my iPhone (4s, 32gb). Is there a way?

I agree that it seems crazy that this can't be done on an iPhone.
Here is the best work around I have found so far.
(It's much quicker and easier to do than to describe.)
In outline, you make an elementary Automator patch
that uses your playlist folder to create a hard coded playlist on iTunes
then just sync across to your iPhone.
1/ Run Automator on your Mac.
2/ In the Automator library select 'Music'.
3/ Under Actions for 'Music' select "Get specified iTunes items" and drag this into the workflow area.
4/ Using the "Get specified iTunes items" widget in the workflow area, press the "add" button.
5/ This allows you to choose from a menu that will include your playlist folder.
6/ Now under Actions for Music select "Add songs to playlist" and drag this into the workflow area
so that the results of the first widget will feed into it.
7/ In the "Add songs to playlist" widget choose "New playlist". Then enter any name for your new playlist.
8/ Run the patch (takes a fraction of a second).
9/ Sync generated playlist to iphone.
Job done.

In the Podcasts app, is there any way to remove the list of recent podcasts that can be downloaded?

I'm wondering whether there's any way to remove all those recent podcasts (either unplayed or only partially played) listed as downloadable from the Podcasts app on the iPhone. If I'd wanted all these additional episodes on the phone, I would have put them there. I don't want them there, yet the app insists upon larding up my podcast lists with these useless episodes. Nor do I want to mark them all as "played." There's a reason some of them are only partially played and others not at all. I prefer to keep them marked that way in my master list. But I do not want them on the iPhone.
I've tried searching online, but am not coming up with a solution. Do I have to go to some third-party app to have cleaner, tidier, and smaller lists? When I intend to carry around only three or four episodes for a given podcast, it is really REALLY annoying to have to pick through a list of forty-some-odd offerings to find the ones I want.
I sure am hoping some techie-inclined soul has a solution for me.

I unchecked the display artwork button under my iPod preferences in iTunes preferences, but even after updating the album artwork is still there...

If you are in Windows, you can try this...
Close iTunes.
Go to the folder that contains your music. Select TOOLS then FOLDER OPTIONS from the menu at the top. Pick the VIEW tab. Change the appropriate opttion to "SHOW HIDDEN FILES". Click apply and close...
Now scroll down through your music and you should see files named "Album Art.....". Drag all of them to the trash or some other folder. If you are not sure about all this, just don't empty the trash.
When you run iTunes again, it should not be able to find the artwork. I'm not sure what you would do next but this gives you a start!

Are you talking about the Time Remaining display on the side bar? The text for that field is in the Modify Text Labels... tool in the Theme Editor of Presenter. You can change it to whatever you want, but you may want to keep a record of what the default text labels are, as there is no restore to default option. The Elapsed Time field is what you would want to change. I have seen this modified to show no text, copyright information or other general info.

You may certainly remove all profile data by leaving those settings as "blank" or "not specified." I find the easiest way to do this is to open the profile settings from within the Skype "client" software.
Removing/deleting an account name from the Skype search directory closes the account. More details about this can be found here: 'Can I delete my Skype account?'

Is there any way to edit all the transitions in a project at the same time?

I chose "insert with transition" when adding clips to my timeline, but the default is set for one second, which is longer than I'd like. I know how to change the duration of each transition one at a time, but is there any way to select all the transitions (there's about 90 of them) and adjust the duration for all of them at the same time?
That's my main question, but I also would like to change the default cross-dissolve transition to be 15 frames instead of 30 for future projects. Anybody know if I can do that? I know I can create a 15 frame cross-dissolve and make it a "favorite", but it seems it would just be easier to change the default one instead.

Any way to remove the History pulldown?

Is there any way to remove the '''History '''pulldown from the main menu bar? It is absolutely useless, at least to me, and it is kind of annoying to keep hitting it by accident.
PS: I meant as a user. It is possible others do, indeed, find some use for it, and it is kind of a given that Mozilla developers will not remove it.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? If you have not already, be sure to update 12 to 12.1, using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.
But to the immediate questions, assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....
1. No, it is what it is. But, are you applying the same transition each time? If so, then highlight/select all the clips involved (all at one time), then Timeline Menu/Apply Default Transition will do just that for the highlighted/selected clips.
To highlight/select more than one clip at a time, hold down the Shift key of the computer main keyboard and then click on each clip that you want in the group selection
or
with your mouse cursor draw a rectangle around the clips that you want to select
2. Are you using the Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Expert workspace Pan and Zoom Tool? Or the pan or zoom presets under fx Effects/Presets/? With those you can do pan or zoom, not pan and zoom.
Or, are you in the Elements Organizer 12 Slideshow Editor using the pan and zoom effect there? Or, are you using keyframing the Motion Scale property for zoom and the Motion Position property for pan?
Are you asking about photos with landscape or portrait orientation?
The pan and zoom tool does one photo at a time.
Have you read the Adobe documentation on the Pan and Zoom Tool?

Only if y can get the iPod out of recovery mode with the program. Otherwise you will have to restore via iTunes which erases the iPod.

Is there any way to remove the explicit warning (the red "E") from podcasts (in the app)?

I could really use some help with the Podcasts app. Whenever I try to use a subscription for a podcast directly on my iPhone, every episode of that podcast (loaded through iTunes) gets the explicit tag.
That red "E" is eating up valuable space in the podcast name and I don't want it there. Is there any way to remove it?
