Any way to remove apps?

I’ve been using a Droid for some time and now moved to iPhone. Droid had many more ways to adjust, relocate, or remove unwanted apps. You could choose only those you wanted to show their icons on homescreens and leave the rest behind the scenes. Like leaving seldom or never used apps in the Application folder of my Mac instead of on the dock. But on the iPhone, it seems I have to have all my apps on homescreens, can’t make any invisible; is that true?

You got it. Unless you want to jailbreak your phone and get an app from Cydia that will do this you will have all your installed apps on a home screen.
What I do as a work around is to create a folder of apps that I don't use and put it on the last home page screen.
Don't know if you are still learning about your phone so here are the details on how to do this.
1. Tap and hold on an app you don't use a lot and wait for all the icons to start to jiggle and display the red circle with the minus sign for deleting apps to appear
2. Drag the app on top of another app you don't use a lot and iOS will create a folder with those apps in it.
3.  Keep dragging apps into this folder (It will hold up to 12 apps) until you have all the ones you don't need in this folder.
4.  Then drag it to the last home screen.
5. Press the Home button to turn off Delete / Move mode.
I also wish there was a way in settings to hide apps you don't use often but don't really want to delete either.  After all you never know when you will need that currency conversion app.

  • Is there any way to remove App Store and iCloud Account from my Iphone without knowing passwords??

I dont know the icloud  account passwords becouse i bought iphone from e friend.... Is there anyway to remove those Accounts so i can set up my account becose i cant install new apps without his password...

You cannot remove the iCloud account without the password if the iPhone is running iOS 7 (check under Settings > General > About > Version). You can sign out of the App Store under Settings > iTunes & App Stores. This part does not require their password.

  • In the Podcasts app, is there any way to remove the list of recent podcasts that can be downloaded?

    Hi there,
I'm wondering whether there's any way to remove all those recent podcasts (either unplayed or only partially played) listed as downloadable from the Podcasts app on the iPhone. If I'd wanted all these additional episodes on the phone, I would have put them there. I don't want them there, yet the app insists upon larding up my podcast lists with these useless episodes. Nor do I want to mark them all as "played." There's a reason some of them are only partially played and others not at all. I prefer to keep them marked that way in my master list. But I do not want them on the iPhone.
I've tried searching online, but am not coming up with a solution. Do I have to go to some third-party app to have cleaner, tidier, and smaller lists? When I intend to carry around only three or four episodes for a given podcast, it is really REALLY annoying to have to pick through a list of forty-some-odd offerings to find the ones I want.
I sure am hoping some techie-inclined soul has a solution for me.

we are working on server to server APIs that will allow you to fetch data (items) from node.
when that is available you'll be able to get the user list from the UserManager node.

  • Is there any way to remove the explicit warning (the red "E") from podcasts (in the app)?

I could really use some help with the Podcasts app. Whenever I try to use a subscription for a podcast directly on my iPhone, every episode of that podcast (loaded through iTunes) gets the explicit tag.
That red "E" is eating up valuable space in the podcast name and I don't want it there. Is there any way to remove it?
Any help would be very appreciated!
P.S. I do not have "Show content ratings in library" activated in iTunes and I don't use any other parental control  or restrictions option, never have.

No there is no way to remove it.

  • Any way to keep apps on my ipod touch but not keep copies of them on my PC?

Is there any way to keep apps on my ipod touch but not keep copies of them on my PC? I have space issues on my PC, so I don't want to have to keep copies there. I deleted the apps from my PC, but when I synced my ipod to add some photos, all my apps were deleted from my ipod. Is there any way to be able to just sync photos and music, and not apps? Seems I am able to manually manage music, which allows me to not have to keep my music library stored on my PC, but can't get the photos to sync without the apps syncing too.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'm new at this.
    Thanks.

though purchased apps can be re-downloaded for free, i strongly advise against such a practice !

you would be better off to move your iTunes library to an external drive, thus freeing up space on your startup disk. this read will tell you how http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364.

  • Is there any way to remove the duration from the course outline in Presenter 8?

Is there any way to remove the duration from the course outline in Presenter 8? I would prefer to not have that listed if at all posible and can't find a solution.

Are you talking about the Time Remaining display on the side bar? The text for that field is in the Modify Text Labels... tool in the Theme Editor of Presenter. You can change it to whatever you want, but you may want to keep a record of what the default text labels are, as there is no restore to default option. The Elapsed Time field is what you would want to change. I have seen this modified to show no text, copyright information or other general info.

  • Is their any way to remove headers and footers in numbers 09?

Is their any way to remove headers and footers in numbers 09?

    Hi Jeuker,
In Numbers 3.2, you can do lots of things with Page Headers and Footers in Print Preview. Move them to the (paper) edge - if your printer will handle that .
Then bring up the Fonts window (in Print Preview, Menu > Format > Fonts > Show Fonts) and have a play:
Or leave them blank. With zero position on the (paper) page, they will probably be in the non-printing margins anyway .

  • Any way to remove the History pulldown?

Is there any way to remove the '''History '''pulldown from the main menu bar? It is absolutely useless, at least to me, and it is kind of annoying to keep hitting it by accident.
PS: I meant as a user. It is possible others do, indeed, find some use for it, and it is kind of a given that Mozilla developers will not remove it.

Add code to userChrome.css below the default @namespace line.
The customization files userChrome.css (interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    <pre><nowiki>@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */
    #history-menu { display:none!important; }
    </nowiki></pre>

My macbook pro is infected with VBS.Lys.M.  Unfortunately, bitdefender can only quarantine it and it keeps reappearing.  Is there any way to remove it from my computer?

That's Windows malware, so it cannot be infecting your Mac. It probably is on your computer as an email attachment. To remove it, see:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/how-to-remove-infected-files/
Also, note that BitDefender is pretty bad at detecting Mac malware. I would recommend removing it. See my Mac Malware Guide for more information about protecting yourself from malware:

  • Any way to "lock" app from being deleted?

My 3-yr old son has recently deveopled a penchant for deleting apps off our iPad.  Is there any way to "lock" apps in a way that, say, a password is needed to delete them?
I'm getting tired of having to re-load everything after he's done with it.

Settings -> general -> restrictions -> Deleting Apps = OFF
Do not give him the restrictions passcode of course.

  • When i transition from demo to simulation I get a black loading ring, any way to remove?

When i transition from a demo to a simulation in a project, in the published output I get a black loading ring, any way to remove this? I'd prefer there to be nothing rather than a ring
    Help much appreciated?

The loading ring is the preloader. It lets the user know that some background activity is happening while he waits. If you remove this, the user might see a blank screen in its place and they may think there is a bug in the output or they have reached the end and close the window.
However if you still want to remove it, you can go to Edit > Preferences > Project > Start and End, and clear the Preloader checkbox.

What you should see on a restart is a black screen followed by a screen with the Apple (at which point you let go of the two buttons). There is no progress bar, just the Apple. The Apple will stay there for 15 seconds or so, then the "Slide to Unlock" screen will redisplay.
But, I don't think the reset will fix it for you. I just tested it, and it comes back on with the zoom still on. The only way to get it to zoom out is the tapping with the 3 fingers.
I said to double-tap....MY BAD! You need to triple-tap with three fingers!
Try that and see if it will display the zoom menu for you, or if it will zoom back out.

  • Is there any way to remove artwork from all songs on iPod?

I need to clear all the artwork from my iPod so I can put them back on, as right now they are all mixed up for some reason. Any way to remove all the artwork? I unchecked the display artwork button under my iPod preferences in iTunes preferences, but even after updating the album artwork is still there...

If you are in Windows, you can try this...
    Close iTunes.
Go to the folder that contains your music. Select TOOLS then FOLDER OPTIONS from the menu at the top. Pick the VIEW tab. Change the appropriate opttion to "SHOW HIDDEN FILES". Click apply and close...
Now scroll down through your music and you should see files named "Album Art.....". Drag all of them to the trash or some other folder. If you are not sure about all this, just don't empty the trash.
When you run iTunes again, it should not be able to find the artwork. I'm not sure what you would do next but this gives you a start!
Proceed at your own risk. Good luck!
