Any way to remove or disable the e-mail program?

I'm using a few ipads in a public setting and we're trying to lock it down to a company app as much as possible. I found how to restrict Safari, so customer can't use it for browsing, but I haven't found any way to delete or restrict the e-mail app - so if a customer gets to the home page, they have been able to add an e-mail address, and believe me, they are not smart enough to delete it, so they walk away with all their account info signed in - nice huh....

You can't delete email but you can configure the iPad so that a password is required to make it functional. There's a lot of restrictions information in Chapter 19 of the 4.2 User Guide. Pages 147 and 148 address your specific concerns.

I like to _keep_ my list populated with what I've downloaded but occasionally end up with it getting clicked on accident and lose the whole thing. Is there any way to remove "sudo" from the server?

sudo can do a lot of things which root can do. I tried the following to remove, but got failed message. Is there any graceful way?
Or, maybe I don't have to remove it, by default, nobody can use sudo to run root only commands, unless I give them priviledge to do so by using "visudo", right?

The idea of the sudo command is to give a user root access without the need to tell them the root password. When the user is not already root the sudo command will ask the user for the current user account password. This is to prevent that someone uses the sudo command in case your session gets hijacked. There is usually a default timeout. As long as you enter another sudo command within 5 minutes of the last sudo command, you won't have to enter your password.
The visudo command is typcially used to edit the /etc/sudoers file, which defines which users or groups are allowed to use the sudo command and to which commands or group of commands it applies. For instance if you make an entry in the /etc/sudoers file to allow a certain user to use all commands, then the user can enter "sudo su -" to become root without having to know the root password.

You can delete certain songs from an On-the-Go playlist by going to the on-the-go playlist and find the song you wish to delete and hold down the Center button until the song flashes. It should be deleted.

This is my first post in the Apple support forum.
I work in the I.T helpdesk office for a leading australian University.
Currently we have roughly 600 apple based computers running in our network, a problem i come across the most is the Keychain.
The company i work for has a policy that requires end users to change their passwords every 6 months, unfortunatly their login details are changed but their keychain is not thus creating password conflicts, account lockouts etc.
Is there any way i can just disable the keychain so its not required any more
Im pretty sure theirs not possible but it cant hurt to ask, theres a very strong chance that theres someone out there who's figured it out

even if that were possible, you wouldn't want to do that as Keychain stores numerous certificates, which are needed to verify the authenticity of secure connections.

In the Podcasts app, is there any way to remove the list of recent podcasts that can be downloaded?

I'm wondering whether there's any way to remove all those recent podcasts (either unplayed or only partially played) listed as downloadable from the Podcasts app on the iPhone. If I'd wanted all these additional episodes on the phone, I would have put them there. I don't want them there, yet the app insists upon larding up my podcast lists with these useless episodes. Nor do I want to mark them all as "played." There's a reason some of them are only partially played and others not at all. I prefer to keep them marked that way in my master list. But I do not want them on the iPhone.
I've tried searching online, but am not coming up with a solution. Do I have to go to some third-party app to have cleaner, tidier, and smaller lists? When I intend to carry around only three or four episodes for a given podcast, it is really REALLY annoying to have to pick through a list of forty-some-odd offerings to find the ones I want.
I sure am hoping some techie-inclined soul has a solution for me.

Are you talking about the Time Remaining display on the side bar? The text for that field is in the Modify Text Labels... tool in the Theme Editor of Presenter. You can change it to whatever you want, but you may want to keep a record of what the default text labels are, as there is no restore to default option. The Elapsed Time field is what you would want to change. I have seen this modified to show no text, copyright information or other general info.

Is there any way to remove the explicit warning (the red "E") from podcasts (in the app)?

I could really use some help with the Podcasts app. Whenever I try to use a subscription for a podcast directly on my iPhone, every episode of that podcast (loaded through iTunes) gets the explicit tag.
That red "E" is eating up valuable space in the podcast name and I don't want it there. Is there any way to remove it?

You may certainly remove all profile data by leaving those settings as "blank" or "not specified." I find the easiest way to do this is to open the profile settings from within the Skype "client" software.
Removing/deleting an account name from the Skype search directory closes the account. More details about this can be found here: 'Can I delete my Skype account?'

When i watch an embed .webm in the innate html5 player, every time i try to forward or rewind the movie it puts up the grayscreen+loading icon(even tho the movie was fully preloaded).
Its especially annoying when you need to watch the movie frame by frame and loading grayscreen darkens it so that you can see alot of less details :/
Is there any way of removing that gray whatever?

I couldn't find a test page for an embedded HTML5 webm video but I found this link to a webm file:

I have no problem using the slider to forward or back up video playback in either the embedded HTML5 mp4 video or the webm video linked above.
