Any way to send pictures in an SMS text message?

You can do this on any phone I have ever used, but I am yet to figure out how to do it on the iPhone. Does anyone know if there is a way to send pictures you take with your iPhone camera (or even ones you synced from your computer!) to other people through text messaging? Thanks

Here is the list of addresses for MMS.. not sure how current though

  • Can I prevent iMessage sending pictures as a costly text message?

Hi, when I send a picture message to someone with an iPhone 4s who doesn't have wi fi on, the message goes as a text message. This is fine for normal text messages but pictures are expensive to send. Is there any way to set it so it sends normal text messages if the receiver has no wi fi but never sends picture messages as text? Thanks

No. Sorry. You can disable send as SMS, which should prevent it from sending anything at all if the receiver has iMessage disabled or has no data connection.

  • Any way to set line width on outgoing (text) messages?

My messages to a mailing list (and probably elsewhere) sometimes get chopped up by the addition of extra returns, so they're hard to read by the recipient (we've all seen this, especially on messages forwarded several times). I always send text-only email. A correspondent suggest setting my outgoing message line width down to 60 characters to avoid this, but I can't find anywhere in Mail's preferences to do this (I seem to remember such a setting on another email client years ago). I'm embarrassed to report back to my Windows-using correspondent that Apple Mail doesn't offer this option. Can anyone tell me it does, and where?

No, I'm not putting in any extra returns. I seem to remember this from back in the 90s: that some points in the Internet's email system allow lines of only 60 characters' length, so if your message arrives with 72 character (or longer) lines, it'll get all chopped up; and the solution is to set your email client to produce only 60-character lines. But I can't find any way to do this in Mail.

  • Since upgrading to iOS 6 I can no longer send pictures as attachments to text messages, why?

I upgraded to iOS6 and can no longer attach photos to text messages, why would that be?  Also since upgrading I find that the Personal Hotspot on my iPhone 4s is now grayed out.  Is this something to to with the upgrade or what?  I am really frustrated by the glitches with this new iOS.  It is very un-Apple like.

I recommend taking it into the store.  Sounds to me like you have downloaded an app that has allowed itself to become the "primary" when sending and recieving images....  Apple is seriously dropping the ball!!  Just the other day, I downloaded an app called v-downloader...  Its an app that allows you to download videos through a 3rd party browser.  Well what it did, was automatically place restrictions on my phone...  I couldnt send pics, and it removed access to safari, facetime, messages, etc... so maybe try removing any recent app purchases.  Also, I would reccomend that you restore your phone.  it will redo the update off your computer and come through with less glitches
But I agree, iOS6 has been nothing but problems... I plan on removing the update when I get home

  • Is there a way to send a copy of a text message to my google email?

    Hello,
Is there a way to send a text message from someone to my google email account? if not, is there a way to save a text message permanently?
    (Many thanks in advance!)

Yes just open message thread for user (Shows all messages for that user) and tap the rim of message window you want to send and select forward and the type email address in to field and send...

  • Is there any way to tell to whom a group text message has actually been delivered.

How can you tell to whom a group text message has actually been delivered?

I use Verizon's Messages+ app; when I send a group text, then long press the message, I get a menu and one of the selections is Message info.  That will show me the contacts I sent the message to.  It doesn't always tell me who got it though - for example, I recently sent a group message to my four kids.  The status shows:
Child 1 - Delivered (On Verizon, separate plan/account)
Child 2 - Delivered (On my More Everything plan)
    Child 3 - Delivered (On AT & T)
    Child 4 - Sent (On T-Mobile)
I got replies from Child 1, 3, 4 - and all the replies all were sent to all in the group.  So I know Child 4 got the message and replied to the group, even though it doesn't say delivered.
I guess if it says "Sent" or "Delivered" you can assume it was delivered to the recipients phone.  If it did not get sent, it will say it failed to send or something.  Whether the recipient has READ it or not can't be determined, unless, of course, they reply. In that case you know they got it and read it.

  • I cannot send or receive SMS text messages and my number is not showing up in the 'Recieve At' location..how do I fix this?

I just bought and activated a new Iphone 4s and I cannot send or receive normal SMS text messages. Also, my number is not showing up in the "receive at" location. Any help??

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Beyond that... since you state you've tried all "recommended fixes" have you actually restored as new and not from your backup?

  • Is there any way to send sms in MIDP1?

Is there any way to send sms in MIDP1 which doesn't support WMA (MessageConnection, TextMessage, ...) ?
It seems it should, because in MIDP 1.0 documentation is note about sending sms using protocol sms://destination:port and that it returns DatagramConnection but there is no example and I really don't know how to create new Datagram to send TEXT message. It can only be created from array of bytes so it seems it can only send binary messages (?!).
    Plz help me...

what special API where i can get it any link or information about that APi

Hi, Santosh..., and welcome to the Community,
I would recommend testing the SMS reply forwarding to your mobile number.  Depending upon the results and if this works for you, you could then contact Skype Customer Service to cancel and request a refund.
In other words, SMS will be received via your mobile number, not via your Skype Number.
    Regards,
    Elaine

I just bought an new ipad mini with wifi and cellular. Is there any way to send text messages to people and contacts that do not have iphones such as friends with blackberrys or a samsung galaxy smartphone from this ipad. Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

  • HT1212 any way to get pictures off a disabled iphone?

My daughter's iphone4 is disabled after too many attempts to enter her password.  Before we reset it, is there any way to get pictures/videos off the phone first?  The phone has never been connected to iTunes.

Luckily, the phone can be synced, backed up, or have pictures uploaded from the camera roll while it is locked.
iTunes will not let you access the phone if it's in a locked state. It will pop up with a message telling you, you must enter the passcode on the phone
Do you have a Mac or PC?
On a Mac anyway, iPhones and iPads are different.  An iPad will lock you out as you describe, whereas an iPhone will let you sync, backup, and upload pictures without unlocking it.
I just tested it and it worked fine.  Not long ago, we tested it the hard way when my son got a mild concussion, the only lasting effect of which was to make him forget his iPhone passcode (we theorize he had just reset it prior to the accident).
I don't know what happens on a PC.
