Any way to show parse errors??

Hi all.
First of all, sorry for my english, but I'm a spanish student who have been rarely abroad.
The fact is that I'm trying to register a Schema in Oracle XML DB. The Schema that I'm actually using have been already parsed, in fact I use XMLSpy to edit my Schemas, so, I use the integrated parser of this tool.
But when I execute the register statement on SQL*Plus (obviouslly after having put the Schema in the repository with FTP) I get some error messages that are very poor to debug the Schema, so ....
Is there a way to see more specific error messages, such as the line number or the element or attribute that is leading to the error??
Thanks on advance for your help.

Not at the moment, other than looking at the type definitions created if you set
Set echo on
alter session Set events='31098 trace name context forever'
Before registering the XML Schema.
BTW just because XMLSpy states that a Schema is Valid does make this true. While in general they have a very competent Schema Validator they too have bugs.
Under the covers XML DB uses the Oracle XDK Schema Validator.
I would strongly recommend trying a third validator before assuming that XMLSpy is the source of truth w.r.t. to whether or not an XML Schema is valid.

  • In Address Book, any way to Show/Hide groups from view in the "ALL" view?

I have groups of contacts in Address Book (v4.0.4) that I plan to use in the future, but right now having to wade through and past all of their individual entries when I am scanning my contact list in the "All" group view. Is there any way to Show/Hide these sub-groups with a visibility check-box? The sub-group name would still be there in the group list (to remind me that it exists and make it visible if desired), but I would have a lot less clutter and scrolling the rest of the time.
I know I can export groups in vCard format and re-import later, but a lot of my original custom fields for the contacts are lost in the process. Is there a 3rd-party plug-in? (Apple, are you working on something like this?)

Hi Mike, My Address Book app is behaving correctly (maybe I'm not).
I'm just saying there are times when I want to see "most" of my total collection of contacts, maybe just for the purpose of creating new groups at particular time and want to see at one time the pool of contacts I have to choose from. There are groups that I very seldom need to use, so it would be a way of putting those groups (and their contacts) into "cold storage."
I also may want to do searches from among most of my contacts, but also I may want to eliminate certain other particular groups from that search pool. That is the reason for wanting to do the "Show/Hide" thing. It is a way of displaying a logical "ALL" minus "SOME", which is the basically same thing as displaying the logical "UNION" of more than one group of contacts at one time. Can this be done?
Is there a way to open alternate address books, from within the same Address Book app (and logged in as the same user)? That would allow me to truly isolate my work list from my home list.
One answer to this occurs to me: I could create different log-ins on my PowerBook, and build the different variants of the Address Book I might want into each login and use Fast User Switching to get into each list of contacts. That seems like a lot of extra work . . . and logging in. Any suggestions?

  • Any way to show more than two slides at a time on the secondary display?

During a presentation, is there any way to show more than two slides at a time in the secondary display? Sometimes during a presentation i have to go back to a certain slide without notice (usually no more than ten slides behind or in front of the current slide)
    Thanks in advanced...

Nope. But you can jump around easily enough. Just type in the number of the slide you want (or any number, really, because you can then use the arrow keys to scroll to the correct slide), and hit return.

  • Any way to turn off errors when updating pages from the template?

I'm using Dreamweaver MX. My site is huge. It's an intranet
spanning dozens of departments. Some of those departments have
subsites that don't fall under the intranet's control, although
they are embedded within our site's folder structure. When I make a
change to the template and update pages, every time I hit one of
those subsites I get tons of errors, from "template not found" to
"unmatched body tag". The errors that pop up each have to be
clicked on before the updating can continue. I get hundreds of
    these.
Is there any way to make errors not pop up while updating
pages from the template? Or even to exclude certain folders from
being checked? (Cloaking doesn't do it.)

    > I'm using Dreamweaver MX. My site is huge.
Both of these are problems, I'm afraid. Combining that with
    templates is
    really trouble.
    > "unmatched body tag".
Errors such as this are definitely caused by errors in your
    page itself.
Can you show me a page where you would get this?

Valid code will not produce these errors. Unfortunately, the
    only way to
avoid them is to remove any validation hiccups from your
    pages.

  • Any Way to Show All Reminders in Notification Center?

I am wondering if anybody can help me here. I keep a list of ongoing items in the Mac Reminders App. However, since I typically don't assign an Alarm/Reminder to these items, they do not show up in the Mac OS X Notification Center.
I'm wondering if there is a way to show all my Reminders in the Mac Notification Center even if I have not set an Alarm time on them?
I think it will be much nicer to just crack open the Notification Center and see all my Reminders as opposed to having to open up the App each time.

More flexible itegration with Reminders would be nice.
I like to have a task list handy, to see what I need to do and check things off when I finish them.
So I'd like to have ongoing projects listed in my Notification Center -- regardless of whether they have an alarm going off today or not. Alarms are annoying, and setting and resetting them every day for several ongoing projects is even more so.
So it's Reminder in an always-open window for me too.
Until it has more flexibility, the NC strikes me as a bit of useless UI bling.
Although the inclusion in the NC of any edits I make to any documents in Text Wrangler is fantastic....Um. Not.

  • (IOS 7) Any way to show calendar list view in notification center instead of day view?

I updated to IOS 7 and I hoped to be able to check my schedule for the next day from the lock screen. Unfortunately at 1 AM the next few hours in the Calendar Day View in Notification Center was empty. The Today Summary just tells me when the first appointment is the next morning but not much else. Is there any way to change the calendar day view to the list view of appointments? Representing the relative times of the appointments with empty space seems like a waste. Especially when the Calendar Day View is 100% empty space and my appointments are just out of view in the wee hours of the morning.
    Thanks,
    Jerrill

My biggest regret in updating to IOS 7 is the calendar. I often to tap from date to date and wish to see in LIST view my events... not in a today view as mentioned by the various posts above. As someone else noted, events are hiding below the screen view and one must scroll around to see if there are other events scheduled. I'm so afraid I'm going to miss something and make a committment in error. A list view is much more desired and efficient.
Change for the sake of change...why Apple why?
I have sent mass texts and Face Book messages to friends telling them not to upgrade to IOS 7 because of the calendar disaster and variouse other changes. Such as why is the font everywhere so small and light? One needs a magnifying glass to see everything that could be seen so clearly before. I've given friends a "tour" of IOS 7 on my iPhone and after seeing it many have thanked me and opted not to upgrade. I only wish I could have been saved.

  • Integrating Facebook in Mountain Lion has caused duplicated birthday events in my Calendar. Is there any way to show only the birthdays of my iCloud contacts, and ignore birthdays from my Facebook contacts?

I do not have any contacts on my local machine. Before updating to Mountain Lion, I stored all of my contacts and calendars in iCloud. When I updated and integrated Facebook, it added the Facebook contacts and all of their information to my Contacts directory. I have merged all duplicated data, and still my Calendar shows a birthday entry for my iCloud contact, and a second entry for the Facebook version of the same (merged and linked) contact. Is there any way to disable Facebook birthdays in my Calendar? Or, for bonus points, is there any way to merge the Facebook category of contacts with my iCloud contacts so that I never see duplicated data in any applications?

You can disable the facebook contacts by going to System Preferences -> Mail Contacts and Calendars -> Facebook, and the unchecking contacts.  That will remove your facebook contacts from your contact book.  Not sure if thats exactly what you want, but that's the only thing I could discover.

  • Any way to show if called party is on the phone

    Hello,
I have a new Call manager installed upgraded from a 3 com system. If i called someone on the 3 com system it used to say that they were on the phone. It does not do that with the cisco. Is there any way to do it?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Joe,
I assume you are saying on the 3com system if you called an internal user if they were on the phone an annunciator would then say to you that the user was on the phone? Or was it on your display? To my knowledge Cisco doesn't have this feature.
They do have the Call Back service. It's part of the CM extended services. High level this service notifies a user when the person they called is available again. So this does check if the user is on the phone. Here is the FAQ.

  • Any way to show hidden pictures in iPhoto Places?

Has anyone found a way to show all hidden photos in Places? (I have lots of hidden photos in lots of events!)
I've got a number of photos showing up in the completely-wrong place in Places (e.g., photos from Spain showing up in Nebraska, photos from California showing up in China). I've gone through the pictures that "places" reveals when I click on one of these completely-wrong pins and manually re-"placed" them, but the pin still shows up. (If I click on it in Places, it shows me an empty roll of photos.) I found, by accident, that some hidden photos were (mis-)located at this pin place. I suspect that the pin is staying there because there are more hidden photos mis-located at that location... but I don't know how to find them! (The non-hidden photos that were mis-located came from a number of different events -- so I have no idea which hidden pictures are still mis-located in Nebraska!)
    Thanks!

"Hidden pictures" in the view menu was grayed in Places... but it's not in the "Photos" view. That solved my problem; thanks!

  • Any way to show a subvi's frontpanel within its parent with out the cumbersome "subpanel"?

I'm writing an application, where several loops are running in parallel (e. g. read sensor data, receive UDP packets, send UDP packets, wait for input). Except for some configuration data, the loops are completely independent from each other (occasional communication is done via queues). Each of the loops will run indefinitely until told to stop by commands to a queue and is in its own subVI (otherwise the main blockdiagramm just containing the overall state machine would start to grow outside the screen, which is even worse than having to scroll in a text based language). Each of the subVIs also shows some information (status, sensor data, graphs, debugging).
So the big question is: how can I show all these subVIs information in a single window?
Using the "subpanel"-container is pretty much out of question. It adds almost as much clutter to the blockdiagram than the loops would do themselves (with "create vi reference", "insert vi", "run vi", "remove vi"; and that for every parallel subVI) and makes the code harder to maintain. Even worse, Labview is no longer able to tell me if one of the subVIs is currently broken (e. g. because there was a change in a typedef that requires changes in a subVI) until I run the complete program (or open each of the subVIs individually). Getting parameters into and out of the VIs isn't easy either that way (no more simple terminals).
I thought about making the subVIs' appearance titlebar-/menu-/borderless and floating and hardcoding a pixel position for all of them. But I can't really control what resolution the PCs running this program will have. So I fear they will be all over the place with no possibility for the user to move them around. This would also mean the main windows would always have to stick to the top left, which in itself would annoy users.
I remember having this problem already. My solution at this time was to make a copy of every frontpanelobject of the subVIs on the main VI (thereby cluttering the blockdiagram with heaps of unconnected terminals), creating a reference to that object, bundling them all together and writing it in a global variable. Then every subVI would pick out the references it needed and change the value with the value property node. Globals and changing the value per reference both being pretty bad Labview practice, it was still more manageable than dynamic calls to subVIs (which the subpanels comes to, although it shouldn't be needed). What making this approach not very practical this time, is, that some of the subVIs (and what they show) may be developed by other developers. This would mean for every frontpanel object they add/change/remove a reference needs to be added/changed/removed. While the reference list will be it's own cluster typedef, still all other subVIs will have to be updated, too.
Maybe I missed something. But is there really no simple option like "show frontpanel when loaded at this position within parent frontpanel"? Would make things soo much easier and way easier to maintain.

    mikeporter wrote:
I'm sorry I'm not aware of any "cumbersome" subpanels - unless of course you don't know what you're doing. There is this wonderful invention called a "subVI" that can be used to organize and simplify your code, or are they too "cumbersome" as well? You should really learn a bit about what you are pontificating over before you start running off at the mouth.
    Mike...
I didn't want to step on your toes. No need to get personal.
Subpanels make some additional code necessary that hasn't got to do anything with the actual program. And I AM using subIVs as I wrote in my first post, which is exactly the root of the problem.
Nevertheless I now solved it in a way that comes close to what I wanted. I don't know if some of you meant your suggestions to be understood that way (at least I didn't ). The subVIs will now "insert" themselves (via invoke node) into a subpanel on the main vi, which they are given a reference of at call. This adds minimal aditional code, especially on the main VI which I want to keep as clean as possible. By clustering the panel reference into the parameters the subVIs are already given (not used in the example I attached below), there isn't even a change on the terminals of the subVIs.
I got to check now if this works well with event structures within the subVIs or if it can create the same problems like multiple event structures within a single VI.
So no global variables anymore and no writing values by property node. I don't know if this just wasn't possible in previous Labview versions I had a try at that (I guess it was 8.6 and/or 2009) or I just didn't come up with the idea back then.
And if the text wasn't that helpful, here are two screens:

  • Is there any way to show vi's called by reference in the hierarchy window

I've inherited some code and in order to save memory and system resources at run time it calls several vi's by reference rather than including them as sub vi's.
Howver I would like to use the hierarchy window to get a more general overview of how the system works but the vi's called by reference don't show up here. Is there any easy way of finding out how all the parts interconnect?

VIs called by reference should appear in the hierarchy window but not under the caller icon. They appear at the top line of VIs.
If you are sure that a VI is in memory and it does not appear in the Hierarchy window, this VI has been marked as "System VI". Such a VI won't appear on the Hierarchy window or on the application property "VIs in memory".

  • Any way to check for errors in an external table besides the log?

For example if you have an external table where a column is defined with a CHAR(1) but when you run a SELECT on it, the mapping comes up with trying to put a CHAR(2) into that single space. The only way I'm aware to see if something is wrong is to check the .log file. Is there any other way to check for an error message or count?
I'm mounting external tables and copying data over to a 'holding' table to be able to work on the data before it's moved into the actual production table with PL/SQ code. If the stored proc can determine what rows are bad or missing or even that there just are some rows with problems then hand back to the app, it would greatly improve things.
    Thanks.

No other way than to check for the existance of a .bad file, then have a look see at the .log then?
