Any way to swap device IP addresses?

Many months ago I changed a System setting using Copilot or Cocktail that made our PIXMA the default printer. It seemed like a good idea at the time, only no device has a static IP and now I keep getting the "Cannot locate..." error several times throughout the day. I've tried hard to find the setting I changed with no success. I've also reset Mountain Lion's own "Default Printer" setting, likewise with no change. I've even re-installed Mountain Lion from the online image, I think since this happened, and still no love. whatever I changed must be very deep. Today I had an idea to make the printer's IP static, set to the one that keep's popping up in the error (10.0.1.12). Only problem is that this IP is presently associated with our TiVo.
Is there any way to change the TiVo's IP to something else so I can use it's current IP for the printer?

I would agree. If the Mac is trying to connect to the external disk and cannot then this message would appear.

If the Canon is using some type of print server to connect to your wireless network then setting this device to a static IP address may help. But with your recent information about Time Capsule, I think the static address may not resolve your symptom and that you really need to get the TC looked at.

Is there any way to swap an alias from a dot mac account to a regular Apple ID?
The Discussion alias that I would like is currently on an expired dot mac account which I have no intention of resubscribing to, and on the Apple ID I use for everything else (iTunes, Apple.ca Store) the discussion alias is somehow my mother's name (I guess it is because it is her credit card on iTunes). I can access to both accounts, is there any way I can delete the alias from the old dot mac account and then change my current Apple ID to said alias.

Hi JJ!
Although you can't change the Alias of the account you are using, you can create a new Discussions Account, with an Alias that you prefer.
You cannot delete your present account. Just stop using it, after you have created a new one.
You can use all of the same info in the new account, Email address, User name, etc, just be sure to insert a new Alias of your choosing. At this point you could try entering the expired .Mac Alias name.
But your Level(0), Points(0), Total Posts(3), Total Posts Online(3) and Registered Date(9/7/05), will not be transferred.
In the new account, your Post Counts, Points, & Level Status will all start at 0. Your Registered Date will be the date you create the new account.
Your old account, with your previous counts & level, will still be viewable, under the old Alias.
After you quit using the old account, those posts, will be archived. What that means is, that if there are no additional responses in the Threads they reside in, the Topics will get continually pushed down on the Topics list. After a certain amount of time, maybe 1 to 3 months, the Threads will be locked, so no responses can be entered. But the Threads will not disappear.
The Topics that you started using the old account, will show your Old Alias, in the Author field of a main forum page, but eventually, readers will have to keep going to the succeeding pages to view them.
If someone were to do a DiscussionsSearch, using these parameters:
Restrict by Category or Forum: All Categories
Restrict by Date Range: All
Restrict by Username: Your Old Alias
all of your posts, created since about 11/13/05, would be found.
To create a new account,
Log out of Discussions. You also may have to delete the Apple Cookies in your browser preferences, but I'm not sure this is necessary. Then follow either of these instructions.

Is there any way to find number of addresses in to and cc list before fetch

Hi,
I am fetchig mails using IMAP.
I want to fetch from,to cc addresses for each mail.
But i foung a mail in my account having 35690 email addresses in to list.
So fetching all these addresses is not worth full for me.
So is there any way to find how many addresses are there in to and cc list before actually fetching them?

You make separate contact for each and put them all in one group. Then, type the group name into the To box.

Is there any way to swap out the 'Widget Note' icon or have it triggered?

Is there any way to swap out the 'Widget Note' icon?
Not only is it bad artwork, I have a cool custom button that I wanted to bring up the Note widget. Also, when I put the Note Widget on top of my custom button, it blocks the button's glow for the mouse over state, wven when I choose the option of making the widget transparent.
Any way my custom button could trigger the Widget Note to launch?
Any help would be much appreciated.

To use your custom icon image instead of default Note icon, you would have placed your image on top of the "transparent" widget.
To make these objects available on click of some button:
Group these two objects.
Make this group invisible in output.
Add the button which should trigger this widget.
On the button, set the action to Show this group.
To hide this group on 2nd click you need to use some advanced action and variables. Else, you can have a different button to hide this group.

Is there ANY way to use another email address with iCloud?

Apple let you use any email address as an Apple ID, but I really want to be able to use a non-Apple email address with my iCloud mail. Just about every email service (Gmail, Hotmail, etc) allows you to send from a third-party address (once you've done a security verification) so that you don't have to change your email address when switching services. iCloud seems to have no such option. Is there any way round this, or any way to put pressure on Apple to add this basic feature???

Every email address ever used stays as a "recent" and clogs the pop up. Any way to delete these?

Hit the blue arrow to the right and then you can delete the contact. (this only works in Mail)

I just updated my OS to Mountain Lion only to find out it won't support my old Microsoft Office 2004 applications. Terrific. Is there a way to recover my Entourage address book and inbox from the local hard drive? My last Time Machine backup was a qhile ago (I know, I know).

The easiest way would be to get MS Office 2011.
Outlook can import those Entourage files.
Come at a price though.

Is there any way to edit an email address in the iPad mail app once it has been highlighted?

To try and clarify the above, when I type an email address in the address field, in the Mail app, and then hit the space bar, the email address becomes highlighted. If I then want to edit the email address I cannot for the life of me work out how to do it without deleting it and typing it out again.

I need to verify my phone inventory with what is listed on our Smartnet contract. I have been told by a TAC engineer that there is no way to gather SN's other than finding the phone in CCM and clicking on the IP address of each phone in our CCM. The thought of doing this with 1100 phones sounds very time consuming. I'd like to get some advice from some body who has been in this situation before. Have you heard of or written a tool that could assist with this? Thank you!

i know of two sources for a list of valid manufacturer mac address triples. stefan-maclist.txt comes with fakeap.pl. a much more comprehensive list is the file 'manuf' in the root directory of the wireshark source, but it needs some editing before it will work with the fakeap.pl code snippet.
one thing this doesn't do is avoid using your actual mac address.

Any way to change the default address on icloud?

I have an old yahoo account I didn't ever log into so I lost access to it. I can't seem to change my icloud default address without verifying the email--which, in circular fashion, can't be verified because I lost access to it.
To preface this--I have tried to recover the yahoo account, but it won't let me retrieve password because it says the account isn't known, so asks "are you trying to register this address?" but, when I try to do that, it tells me the ID is taken. Yahoo is to blame, really for this circular craziness.
So, I'm trying to use my more often-used gmail account (which I do have access to)
Every time i try to set up my icloud, it wants to verify my old yahoo address.

If you want to change your email address, then you can change your Apple ID from your old address to your new address by following the steps in this article. (You should receive a verification email in your inbox of your new email address.)
Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs cannot be renamed.

Sharing of sip domain is not possible in Lync.
The DNS record for automatic sign in can only point to the Edge server of one Lync environment.
If user who is from different environment tries to login to Lync externally using automatic sign in, they will be directed to the Edge mentioned in the DNS record and
will get a 404 error because Lync server does not recongnize the user and will not be able to login to Lync.
Possible solution:
Change sip address of the users of one Lync environment and configure federation between the two sip domains.
Change will require change of sip address of users.
Change of certificate for Edge and reverse proxy.
Change of SRV records.
Contacts needed to be removed and added with correct sip address.
Meeting needs to be rescheduled .
Central forest solution:
Create a forest trust between the two forests.
Use Lync server of one environment.
Configure Lync for a central forest topology

by creating contacts for each user from the other domain and enable the contact for Lync.
All users will have the same sip domain and can login using their login credentials but will be hosted on the Lync server in one forest.

Any way to create labels from Address Book WHICH I CAN EDIT?

I know how to print labels direct from Address Book but I need to be able to edit the labels before printing. Anyone know how to do that?

I had to chose "Desktop" to be able to set 1920x1080. Not sure what Desktop means.
Which raises the question of what the render codec will be. I'm trying AIC since it is more compressed than "422 uncompressed" yet can be 1920x1080.
AIC works, BUT it is darker. HDV is also darker. DVCPRO HD is also darker.
422 uncompressed and PhotoJPEG and Component are almost equal brightness. Both are slow.
So one has a choice of slower than normal playback with correct image or full speed playback with dark image. Can't have darker because it screws-up CC.
Also: The QUALITY parameter is critical for PhotJPEG, yet not only can't one define it one has no idea what Adobe has set it to.
