Any Way to Test IDLE

Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7u2-7.04 64bit (built Jul 2 2009)
I configured IDLE according to these instructions:
http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Configuring+IMAP+IDLE
(except for setting an environment variable to restrict access),
see it advertised when I telnet to the IMAP port, mail seems to arrive quickly in my configured Thunderbird client (which supports IDLE), but:
Is there any way to know it is working as it should (e.g. connection logs), and is configured correctly?
Thanks,
s7
P.S. I do see this in the imap logs - which looks like IDLE stuff working? Any way to turn this logging up?
Is local.store.deadlockaggressive IDLE related?

  • Any way to test itunes to see if its working properly?

Is there any way to test Itunes to see if it's running correctly? It's been crashing on me often and I don't know why.

  • Any way to test the connection from my web browser back to SAP?

is there a way to test/monitor the connection/data that is sent from my Internet Explorer back to SAP when the Submit button is pressed?

I would love to find a utility that lets me measure the speed of my network without the variable of including my internet connection.
If you are using wireless and you have Mac laptop handy, take some quick measurements at different locations around your home.
Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the screen. Look for the Transmit Rate number and jot that down.
This represents the maximum speed that your wireless could support at that particular location.
For example, let's say that your Transmit Rate at a given location is 130. This number is expressed in Mbps, so you would have 130 Mbps.
You will find that your network speed is much faster than your internet connection speed, which is limited by the type of service that you have selected. If you have a 6 Mbps service, your internet speed and connection will be limited to that number no matter how fast your network number may be.
Another way of saying the same thing is that your internet connection will always be the bottleneck on your network.

  • Any way to test fan functionality?

Is there any way to make sure the fans work without using the hardware checker DVD?
I can recall hearing some fan noise under heavy use when I first got my MBP, but I can't hear anything now. This wouldn't be concerning to me, since I understand the fans are very quiet, but my MBP also gets extremely hot under normal use.
Also, has anybody found a temperature monitor that's functional on the MBP sensors?
    MBP 2ghz

Something that stresses hardware would work well. Some encoding or benchmarks? The only time I've heard fans from my MBP was while in windows xp running benchmarks.

  • Any way to test a used Iphone with another AT&T sim (non-iphone)?

Looking at a used iphone 2g Monday and I'd like to know if I can swap in my brother's AT&T non-iphone sim card to see if i can make calls or if other features are working.
the P.O. says he has wiped it but I'd like a way to know if said iphone works before getting home to plug into itunes. also said the only thing that comes on the screen when turned on is something saying to connect to itunes.
    Are these phones generally ok?
Even the ones that brick from uneducated hacking seem to have a fix.
    Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

You would need to activate the phone to test it as far as making calls and such. If the seller is legit, he should have no problem plugging in the phone to iTunes are reactivating it for you to show you it works.
Personally, I would buy a brand new phone with a warranty unless this guy is selling the phone super cheap (less than $100).

  • Any way to test teststand deployment without base deployment engine?

    Hello,
I am currently working on a teststand/labview program for the manufactuerer for my company. I would like to test the deployment files I have created but we do not have a base deployment engine license. Is there a way to get around this for testing purposes? I would like to be able to deploy this to a PC without the teststand/labview development system since that is what I will be deploying it to eventually.

Once you have created you deployment image you can deploy this on any system. Obvious you will not beable to test this if you haven't
    a) already deployed the teststand runtime engine and user interface
    b) and also the LV RTE.
But you can check that files should go to the desired location and that you have all the expected files.
But also you should a one deployment licence with the Developement TestStand System you brought.

  • Removed iBook HD, any way to test it with another working iBook?

I have 2 iBooks, one experienced the famous 'logic board failure'. I have went through the whole 'shim' on the chip until it couldn't be 'shimmed' anymore. I have resorted to disassembling the iBook for parts. Here is the question(s):
1.) Can I purchase a IDE-to-USB cable and run diagnostic tests through my working iBook?
2.) Are these cables Apple specific or Windows specific?
3.) If the drive is operational, Can I make it into a "large" travel (thumb) drive? If so, any sites that offer a tutorial?
I am trying to fully recycle the old iBook. Any good modification recommendations for the Airport extreme card?, Screen?, Optical drive?, etc.

In regards to testing the drive, it might be more economical for future purposes to just buy a cheap external drive enclosure that supports USB or Firewire. You can plug in the HD you removed from the iBook and then attach as an external drive to another machine for testing. If it works, you would then have it already mounted in the enclosure and ready to use as an external HD in the future. The interface is currently non-specific to any type of computer. I don't know about a tutorial, but I don't know if the HD will function well as a travel drive. Granted, it did come from a laptop, but the drive once removed from the machine doesn't have access to the acceleration detectors to protect the drive from bumps and bangs.

  • Any way to test speed of external HD's ...?

wondering if there is a utility to test the read/write speed of external HD's?
I'M using USB drives for video production on Final Cut Express, but have been advised that firewire is better.  I have an older MAXTOR 250 gig drive that is both FW & USB capable .. but would like to test it out.
is there any such utility around that can assess drive capabilities?
    thanks for any advice..
    Gary

I think it's even easier to just match frame the "source file"... put your playhead on the clip you want to speed change in your sequence. Then type optioncmdf. Perform the speed change in the Viewer, then simply cut it in... Might help to put it up above the older, use the double arrow selection tool facing right to move the clips past this change later... pull the upper track speed changed clip down over the old, and viola.
Gotta say though, it's a lot easier to perform the speed change in the Viewer, and edit it all in as you go rather than doing it after you've put the clip in a sequence. (not always possible to determine what the speed change should be maybe, but sure easier.... FCP 7 handles this problem a lot better for sure, and worth the upgrade price if your machine is compatible.

  • Is  there any way to test a servlet without deploying it???

It is probably a stupid question, and i probably am right in assuming the answer is 'no' but i figured i'd ask anyway because i'm new to servlet writing and wanted to know if i could test my servlet before bothering to package it into a .war and putting it in a web container just to end up finding out something isn't right and having to re-package it again each time i need to change a bug.
so just a simple answer if this can't be done will do
if it can be done- a suggestion of how you do this in detail would be awesome, and might even earn ya some Dukes.

Your building an entire site and exporting it to a war file without ever testing anything? Testing your servlet can easy or hard.. depends on what classes your importing into it... and if you can simulate some sample input for it to handle.

  • Is their any way to test my CPU for damage or health status?

I just was wondering if their was a test for it. The apple hardware test doesn't test the processor.

If you were able to determine that your CPU was getting "weak or fragile," what would you do about it? You'd replace the logic board, which is exactly what you'd do if the CPU suddenly stopped functioning altogether. As long as your CPU is functioning normally as far as you can tell, there is nothing else to be done, and no point in knowing anything more about your CPU than Apple Hardware Test can tell you. You can obsess over this if you want to, but it will do you no good and will be a waste of your time and energy.

  • Any way to test the speed of my network?

My network is slow as molasses. Email takes a few minutes to send, netflix and Apple TV movie downloads take hours, etc....
I'm trying to figure out if the slowdown is because of my ISP or my local Airport Express/Airport Extreme setup. I would love to find a utility that lets me measure the speed of my network without the variable of including my internet connection.
For what it is worth, SPEEDTEST and PINGTEST are both giving me an F, even if connecting to servers that are only 50 miles away.

  • Is there a way to test the Firewire 800 port?

My firewire 800 port seems to no longer work on my Imac. Before bringing the machine to repair, I was wondering if there is any way to test the port, or to reset it. I remember I had a similar issue a few years ago and I could make it work again.
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Felix
    1. Try resetting the FireWire bus as described in the +What to do if your computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device+ article below:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1317?viewlocale=en_US
    2. Connect a FireWire device and open your *System Profiler,* then in the Hardware section select FireWire to see if the device is shown on the bus.

    Hi!
I am a BI newbie and was wondering if there is any way to test HANA...? Maybe a trial version or something? :S
or is the solution available to use for any sap partner?
I have been looking for something like the 30 day trial version of dashboards and crystal that you can download [here|http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx]. But I guess that is just too much to ask XD
    any help is welcome

Alejandra, if you are an SAP partner, than the easiest way is to contact your SAP partner manager and ask for availability of partner test&training licenses. You still might need to order pre-configured appliance from h/w vendor. Regards. -Vitaliy
PS. Think as well if you can come to TechEd this year - there are plenty of sessions, including hands-on, planned.
