Any way to trim line ends?

I used the shape builder tool in CS5 to "trim" the blue lines as they overlapped the rectangle boundary. Is there a better way to trim the lines so that the ends of the lines but up to the border rectangle? Any other ideas how to accomplish the same thing?

One way would be to use the crop button in the pathfinder palette. Select all and click on the crop button. (note: I added another dark blue rectangle in the back after cropping).

Bizzarely, if I shutdown and open QuickTime many times I can occasionally export a clip as another format (maybe one in 10 times). I have seen that other users have had a similar problem after clipping files in QuickTime but this seems to be a slightly different bug in that all I do is open the file and then try and export the file as is - either way, this is a very annoying bug

@Z_B-B, thank you for taking the time to respond to my cry for help. However, the link you supplied does not address the problem: I am not trying to export from Final Cut Pro to QuickTime, I am trying to export from QuickTime to the rest of the world (like people's iPhones and Ipads) in .m4v format (so I am not emailing my freinds such huge files).
If I were to spend hundreds of Dollars on a copy of Final Pro I could export directly from there and not have to bother with QuickTime, but I do not take enough video clips to justify the cost. I must say that I never had any of these problems before I decided to switch from Snow Leopard to Mountai Lion.

I don't know why that happened, but you could try the workaround in this earlier thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/934874?esab=a&s=bookmarks+import+%22.url%22&r=0&as=s bookmark names have ".url" character string appended to all names].

My messages to a mailing list (and probably elsewhere) sometimes get chopped up by the addition of extra returns, so they're hard to read by the recipient (we've all seen this, especially on messages forwarded several times). I always send text-only email. A correspondent suggest setting my outgoing message line width down to 60 characters to avoid this, but I can't find anywhere in Mail's preferences to do this (I seem to remember such a setting on another email client years ago). No, I'm not putting in any extra returns. I seem to remember this from back in the 90s: that some points in the Internet's email system allow lines of only 60 characters' length, so if your message arrives with 72 character (or longer) lines, it'll get all chopped up; and the solution is to set your email client to produce only 60-character lines. But I can't find any way to do this in Mail.

you can set your strokes to not scale by using the properties panel when a stroke is selected.

Hi, I am doing an web app in j2ee that also shows an applet in which a virtual 3d map is rendered. the applet is a kind of heavy so downloading it takes many time beucasse it has to download many things. Then I must use a database connection from the database to send things to my web server. The problem is that the jdbc driver is about 500k and I want to minimize the downloading time of the applet, is there any way to get a very very small version of JDBC???
Or do I have to do my own type 2 jdbc??

Why use applets and browsers at all?
You should have an installer that installs an application on the client box. And that uses TCP over the modem to communicate data and nothing else.
Other than that it is certainly possible to set up the html pages such that the only down load updated components, and that includes the driver. Your application should be broken into pieces as well.
By the way you did harden MySQL right? Because if you expose it to the internet directly it is going to get hit.

Acrobat v9 JavaScript Alert Box - any way to add space or line break after each array item?

I have a Document level Javascript used to identify blank required fields and is triggered on document actions, Print and Save. The script identifies the blank required fields, counts them, and outputs to an Alert box indicating the number of required fields blank and lists the fields by tooltip name. The script identifies the required fields by an asterisk at the end of each tool tip.
My question is there any way to add a space or a line break after the comma for each listed item?

Thank you! The alert box array items now have a line break, image below. You know you have made my day and possibly several weeks as now I have more understanding about how to apply everything I have been reading in the Acrobat JavaScript guide and of course as soon as you pointed out using a "join", that triggered some old-days of working with Access and SQL queries.
I will work on the required attribute to see how I might reference it. I am laughing at myself now - good luck to me in figuring it out as I was very stick-in-the-mud regarding the line break issue.

I would like to upgrade my other phone because the phone I have is giving me problems, but I do not want to pay ridiculous fees and such for the data plan. There a couple of different issues you'll want to consider here:
1) If you use the upgrade from the line you want to cancel, you will start a new contract on that line and owe a $175 ETF if you purchase a basic phone or a $350 ETF if you purchase a smartphone. The contract is tied to the specific line (and phone
number), so you can't move it around. If you upgrade a line, you must keep it for 24 months or pay an Early Termination Fee.
2) Your unlimited data package is tied to the line and phone number that is currently on. That means that if you want to use the unlimited package, you'll have to activate your new phone on that line and number. You won't be able to get the unlimited data on the other number on your plan.

There are lots of ideas floating on the web for this particular issue - all of which I tried. I had the same problem and it turned out to be my USB cable. I thought the cable was fine as it would charge my phone and play but the data transfer pin was bent. I replaced the cable and it fixed the problem. Worth a shot as it is an easy fix!

Any way to batch add a frame of black at the end to several videos?

I'm working with a huge number of files that I have to convert to MP4, but I was asked to put one frame of black at the end. I didn't find any way to do this in Media Encoder, I'm importing the files onto Premiere where I have a second of black video at the 30;00 mark since all the files are 30 seconds exactly. The out point is set to 30;00 to it only puts one frame in there. This is obviously going to take too long because I have to have a ton of duplicated empty sequences, plus importing all the original files onto Premiere. The only automated part will be exporting all the sequences, but I'm trying to find a way to automate this even further, just dropping all the original files somewhere and have them all re-encoded with one black frame at the end. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or if not, any other software on Mac that might work for this purpose?

I have been running into this problem for 2+ years. I have a friend at Apple who used to work in ProApps. He checked around for me and it is a known (but obviously ignored) issue with the third party codec Apple has licensed for 3G video. It affects 3G video exported from QuickTime Pro, iMovie and yes even the very expensive Final Cut Pro, because they all use the same codec for 3G. I use Compression Master instead. It is now incorporated/acquired by Telestream (makers of Flip4Mac).

Any way to trim line ends?
