Any way we can 'petition' a song that's 'uploaded' to be a 'matched' version?

i've seen other threads about a couple of songs from a CD were uploaded while the rest were all matched by iTunes Match. it would be great if there was an update to iTunes to select a song and bring up an iTunes store search and manually connect it to tell Match that the song that's uploaded should really be a matched song. You would think that uploaded songs probably just don't meet a certain threshold of matchability in the algorithm, so Match chooses to upload them. If say, Match saw it as 90% likely a track was from something, but the algorithm requires 99%, if would be nice if we could select the track to 'recheck' and incorporate the MetaData. This would still prevent people from just saying that a random file is some new song that the user just wants to try and download for free, because it would require it still be within a certain % of probability. Hoping this comes out eventually, or something like it...

Although I think this is a good idea. I doubt Apple will ever implement it because of the high probaility of being able to manipulate it and take advantage of the feature. And we all know how much the record companies hate "piracy" so they will probably never allow it.
Still, it won't hurt to submit your feedback to Apple <http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html>.

  • On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?

On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD on a different computer using Home Sharing? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?

Yes, you can copy songs that you ripped from a CD to your Home Sharing computer.
Turn on Home Sharing first on both computers.  To do that, go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing.  Enter your Apple ID and password.
Now go to your computer that you want to copy the songs to and connect to your Home Share.  You can do that by clicking on the popover button located at the left top corner right below the play control buttons.  Click on it and scroll to the bottom until you see your Home Share and select it.
Go to Music in your Home Share.  Select the songs that you want to copy in your Home Share and click Import at the bottom right corner.

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way.  Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

  • I have a 4g touch. I updated ibook in itunes and now, every time I sync, I get the message that the app won't run in os6. Is there any way I can revert the app in itunes so I have the latest version that will work with OS6?

I recently updated ibook in my Itunes.  Now, every time I sync, I get the message that it won't update the ipod as ibook won't run in OS6. Is there any way I can revert the ibook app in itunes so it quits trying to install the current ibook app. I am trying to stop getting the warning message. I am also concerned if I ever have to reinstall the app.

Delete the app from the iTunes library on your computer and then transfer the version from iPod to computer by:

  • Is there any way I can view internet pages that can be viewed only with explorer browser?

Hello, there is one site that I visit extremely often for work, but it works only with explorer browser. Is there any way I can open it using y iPad?

If its only for explorer browsers, the company who owns that website doesn't know how to make a website. most of the sites out there now are using HTML5 which is cross-compatible on all browsers.
The reason it needs internet explorer is because it will probably need to use some sort of active x plugin.
I disagree that "the company who owns that website doesn't know how to make a website." You do not know the requirements; technical, contractual, or environmental that led to the design of the web site. There may be a valid reason the site is designed to use IE only. For example, many multimillion dollar government web sites are IE only because of policy, security, or other restrictions.

Have your friend put them back on.   That's how the songs got on there in the first place.

  • I have 1800 songs on my Itunes library that were purchased by me but under my ex-girlfriends Email address, so I can't sync them to my Ipod.  Is there any way I can access those songs without her password?

    Can anyone offer any advice?

The songs belong to the owner of the itunes account from which they were purchased.
Your computer would have to be authorized to her account.

  • Is there any way I can block the ipod that somebody stole from me?

Two days ago, somebody broke my frind's car lock and they stole everything was in there, icluding my ipod, I just wanna know if there any possibility to at least block that ipod so they can't use it anymore.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • My iPhone got stollen, is there any way Apple can block it so that those thieves cannot use it?

So someone has stollen my iPhone and I've been told that if I contact Apple and I give them some details about my iPhone that are within the box when I bought they should be able to block the whole phone so it's completely unfunctional ever again. It has been missing for two months, they switched it off because I cannot find it on "Find my iPhone" app, so if I can block it I would happily do so because I bought it free (no contract) and it cost me a lot of money.

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.

  • Is there any way to find out all songs that I purchased from the iTunes Store?

I have purchased many songs from iTunes Store, and I was wondering if there was a way to find which songs I would need to authorize, so I don't bother copying them to my work computer.   I can tell if I do this one at a time, but I have over 10,000 songs to go through.do
    Thanks!

  • Is there any way I can convert a song in MP4 format to MP3 so it will play on my car radio?

How can I convert a song in MP4 format to MP3 format so it will play on my car radio?

Yes, go to Preferences in iTunes, set the Import setting under the General tab to use MP3. Then select the tracks you want to convert, now you should see a choice in the File menu called 'Create New Version' with a sub-choice of MP3.

  • Is there any way i can recover a doc that i accidentally deleted without saving

I have lost my homework for mid-term in 5 hrs. Please help me!!!! how do I recover a page I was typing that I accidentlly hit the don't save button?

It's possible that whatever program you were typing it in has an auto-save feature.  Since you don't say what version of the OS and what program you are using, we can't tell you whether that is the case or where you might find such an auto-saved document.  It's also possible that the auto-saved document was deleted when you chose to not save it.
