Cellular Data for iTunes Match but not for app updates

In iOS7 we can now have App updates downloaded automatically. Great. But if I want to use cellular data to stream songs from my iTunes Match library in iCloud when I'm on the road, but don't want to waste cellular data on App updates how can I do this? It appears that enabling cellular data for iTunes Match also requires using cellular data for any of the four auto download features as well in Settings>iTunes & App Store. Am I seeing this correctly and is there a way to fix this? I don't want to use cellular data for app updates, just for iTunes Match streaming. Any help would be great.

This looks like the same problem I've come across. From what I have been told, they are not separate, ie if you enable use cellular data to stream songs from iTunes Match you also have to download updated apps if you have it set to automatically download them.
I think this should definitely be separated.
The other thing you could do it go to another streaming music provider and then turn cellular downloads off. That's what I'm looking at doing.

Use cellular data for iTunes Match & Radio but not app Updates

Is there any way to set an iOS device so that it will allow using cellular data for iTunes Match and iTunes Radio but not downloading app Updates. I want to be able to set my wife's phone so that the apps are automatically updated over Wifi but she can then use iTunes Match and iTunes Radio when she is out. She only uses those in limited capacity so I am not too worried about her using up her data plan with those. However, app Downloads seems to be quite large, and they happened a lot recently when they all updated for iOS8.

No, but you could turn off Updates under Automatic Downloads in Settings>iTunes & App Store, then update them manually when you're connected to wifi.

How to Share BPM Data with iTunes Match?

To ensure my Songs have current lyrics and reasonably accurate 'beats per minute (BPM)' data I've regularly used 3rd party tools. Using one of the computers with my complete library this data is updated typically on adding new Songs / Albums. Have noted recently that the lyrics, BPM and so on immediately updates on the library concerned. However, these updates do not appear to be replicated with iTunes Match?
Whilst the Songs are immediately listed for download on all other libraries, the additional data is not being shared. How can iTunes Match be tempted to share such data?
[I do have an inelegant method under a post for Metadata from early '12 but hoping that a neater solution has now been identified?]

After careful assessment it appears that there are no improved methods for reliable sharing of Song data with iTunes Match beyond the basic method identified in this thread.
Investigation by beaTunes reached the following conclusion:
Even if beaTunes updated those privileged fields - I don't think that guarantees that all other fields are also synced.
Sounds to me like iTunes Match is fundamentally flawed :-("
It would be very helpful if Apple would allow users of iTunes Match and 3rd party developers to signal when Song data has been updates such that iTunes Match can ensure Songs across the (up to) 10 devices are synchronised.
Until such time, only adding Songs with iTunes Match off, updating Song data as needed prior to switching iTunes Match on seems the pragmatic route forward. For Songs otherwise imported they need to be removed and re-added in this style to yield consistent Song data.

Where is sort by release date in itunes store?

Taking this feature away makes it VERY difficult to find what you're looking for in the store now. For example, if you search for GLEE, and filter media by type 'music' there are hundreds of songs. I can't figure out how they are sorted (if at all.) If want the songs in tonight's episode I am out of luck!
Am I missing something, did it just move and I can't find it? This seems rediculously stupid to remove this feature. I keep looking for it because I can't imagine why Apple would want to take it away.

Sorry, I was looking under Podcasts, not at a smart playlist.
The release date is not part of the ID3 tags. It is read from the RSS server when the podcast is downloaded.

Any WebOS 2.0 release date information?

We keep hearing coming months. The Q4 is winding down. Some developers have to have a close estimate as to the release date as they have to know when their new features are going to be uploaded.
Why can't Palm(maybe HP will be better) just release the information like any other company? When someone says the coming months we expect it to get narrower at some point. This forum and many other have dropped "the coming months" as if it were a government mandate. Sometime I think the people around Palm, both in and out, believe their device functions above God while neglecting all other companies. I hate to say the term that starts with an A and end with hole is very appropriate. Its close the spider man film when Peter Parker decides to dance through town like everyone knows who he is to music that isn't there.
Anyhow I hope it is soon let us know.

Thanks for the Response. I believe many other people are getting angry as well. Palm's standpoint seems to be," this is how we will make people seem like consumers." I have written a post or two about the website showing several applications for Facebook that do not exist. This is another basic wrong doing that should be corrected within a day. It isn't were mad as consumers, more so we are insulted as people. Business is high-tech in many instances today but the simple fundamentals through out business remain the same. These fundamentals are so native to natural standards of life, that anything of this nature goes against themselves as well as the people that support them.
Palm for some reason, hopefully less so from HP, are able to emphasize human characteristics and standards with their products while creating blatant voids. I do believe ultimately it comes down to For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge in the end and for this reason we hope our government and structure prevail. More importantly should a company that advocates such principals be allowed to operate without full structure understanding and Foresight. Obviously not, and this is why I suppose I exist. Though while this has been difficult, I have personally taken on the challenge as I believe this fight won may unlock something of a magnitude like no other. I do still believe it will take an appropriate collaboration of almost all operating systems to create where we plan to be.

What song data does iTunes Match sync?

iTunes Match seems to be completely broken in iOS 6. While ratings sync immediately, play count only does from time to time and last played never updates.
While being far from perfect, things worked better in iOS 5. I'm definately not going to renew and try to get a refund from Apple for my current subscription, since the product does not work.

iTunes Match has always had poor performance with Song data (metadata), see earlier post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3760002.
Agree IOS 6 has not improved, however, unable to see any information from Apple promising such performance - it is as though the limited IOS 5 capability was not a priority and has simply been left out of IOS 6.
It would help if Apple clearly stated the scope of intended iTunes Match / IOS capability - it appears limited to automatic sync of Song files grouped as playlists or Albums with no undertaking to share metadata beyond limited information such as Song names, album, artist and so on.
Have to agree that the service is limited, you can only assess the value on the limited capability available - for me, with multiple computers and iDevices (including Apple TV) it is still very good despite the limitations.

HT204406 iTunes Match was set up but wouldn't download any of my music. I turned iTunes Match off, deauthorised and then reauthorised, restarted iTunes. Now iTunes match won't turn on - I get the "Add this computer screen" but it says can't add for 83 day

iTunes Match was set up on my new MacBook Pro. Today, it wouldnt download any of my music, so I followed advice, switched on iTunes Match and switched it on again. When this didnt help, I deauthorized the computer, logged out of iTunes, and relogged in again. I have reauthroized the computer and reset the View/Options.
However, now I cant connect to iTunes Match or iCloud at all. The screen asking me to Add this computer comes up, when I click and enter my Mac account details I get the error message:
"You can use iTunes Match on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 83 days."
However, this was the iTunes account with which I set up iTunes Match.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Quicken announced that this new "Built from ground up for Mac" version would be released in Feb 2010.... well, it's Feb 2010!!!
Of course I believe them.... yea right.

Any changes to SP6 release date for Netweaver 2004S?

With the recent activities on SP5, is this going to impact the end of Jan/beginning of Feb schedule for the release of Netweaver 2004S SP 6? That can impact some of the project timelines and the timelines for bringing up the servers.

Any news on a release date for the 11g SOA suite?

The latest technological preview release is from may last year.
Does anyone know when/if a new version of the SOA suite is planned to be released?
(I really like the new 11g JDeveloper, and would like to do some BPEL processing etc and deploy it all to a new and shiny SOA server. I don't know if the latest JDeveloper talks very well with our old 10.1.3.1 SOA installation)

No date, rumors are this year :)
I believe Oracle is trying to get something before 1 June. But this may not be the full release there may be some missing components, e.g. the stuff that is difficult to port from BEA.
Before 11g I believe there is another 10g release wich will certify SOA Suite on WL 10R3
Also you are correct 11g JDev is not compatible with 10.1.3.1, the only version certified with this version is 10.1.3.1. SOA Versions have to be kept in sync with the JDev version.

Displaying Release Date from Atom Feed

When using an atom feed with iTunesU, we find that the Release Date field does not show meaningful data. The field contains the value of today in every
instance. I wonder if there is any way to make Release Date show the contents of the <updated/> element, or to otherwise modify the feed to enable use of the Release Date field?

I can attempt to offer just a bit of assistance; however, I don't and haven't used Atom for feeds, so my experience is limited to RSS only.
The Release Date field in the iTunes U Store and iTunes application rely on the pubDate tag in the iTunes xml namespace.

The page explicitly mentions RSS, but does not explicitly say that ATOM will not work, so YMMV.
