Kind of sad I'mhaving to send this from my girlfriends transformer connected to my droid x instead of my thrive. "Paired but not connected" wth is this? The thrive is a honeycomb tablet not aheadset haha.

And don't even getme started on wondering why a older cheaper tablet has this fiction reinstalled, as do other tablet makers , heck any tablet in the game right now(iconia, transformer, XOOM, Galaxy) has it, but not the new tablet I bought this month.

Any Word on on Update?!

I have been so excited about upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion - but after reading all these forums and all the problems people are having, I've been scared to go for it! I have an early 2009 MacPro (8-core) and from what I can tell it will be compatible (except for a few features that I don't care about anyway).
So it's been a few weeks now that ML has been out. Any word on when an update will be released to address some of these issues people are having? Trying to decide whether to wait for an update or go ahead and try and see what happens... (After a SuperDuper clone of course!)

Not many people come to a support forum to post how good everything is going.
Oh, there's some regular agent provocateurs who like to come on here and boast that 'everything's fine' after every new upgrade to wind up those suffering problems. I'd name them, but that'd probably be breaking the ToU (they'll probably show themselves in this thread before long anyway).

Its been over 3 weeks since release, and loads of people are having numerous problems, and they havent released an update. If it was a serious problem with the iPhone that could be software fixed (aka NOT signal issue) then they would have done it by now!

Ignore that guy. His initial response, "I don't have a problem thus there's nothing to fix" was the first clue. Tune people like that out. By the way, you did not rant, your post was very reasonable.
I, like many others, have been suffereing with Safari 5 issues since the upgrade. I, like many others have left detailed posts, followed numerous "try this" instructions to the letter and still have problems. Some have backed off to Safari 4 until Apple provides an update to Safari that promises to fix the numerous real issues with the code.
Look thru some of the old threads, there are solutions that have worked for some. Beware of the folks who only want to blame "other software" as their real interest seems to be in denying Safari could have a problem of its own.

I continue to have problems with text entry with Android 4.1.2 -- Any word on an update?

When my phone (Droid 4: I like the physical keyboard, which seems to be going the way of the dodo) was upgraded to 4.1.2 a while back, the following happened:
-- Spell check disappeared from text entry using any browser;
-- Auto-complete started losing track of where I was in a sentence, so hitting backspace deleted entire words instead of the last character typed;
-- The Swype keyboard ceased to function.
As a result, I had to give up on many of the spell-check features and give up on the Swype keyboard.
I'm really hoping that an update is forthcoming, and further, that it will fix the issues with the last one.
Anyone have any idea?

I have not installed any third party messaging apps or keyboard functionality apps, at least not intentionally. I rebooted in Safe Mode and all symptoms are the same. I tested it by going to Google Translate, which has a web input window. Spell check was inactive, Swype was capitalizing every word, making it basically useless.
A symptom that I failed to mention continues to be present in Safe Mode also – when hitting the shift key and backspacing, the selected text is not highlighted, so I basically have to guess what I’ve selected, and only find out if I’m right once I hit backspace or start typing in replacement text.
Spell check was inactive in third party applications also, for example Quick Office. It did show up in Gmail. I was unable to duplicate any application getting lost in terms of where the cursor is so that I deleted the wrong text; however, this is an intermittent problem, so I would probably have to do a lot of typing, etc., to duplicate it. However, I have seen other posts complaining about phone behavior very similar to what I reported.
Bottom line – The phone acted precisely the same in Safe Mode as it did outside of Safe Mode.

Any word on AEBS + Time Machine fix?

That's right - Apple don't pre-announce software updates, they just pre-announce software capabilities. That's why I bought the Airport Extreme, and that's why I'm ticked off...

I have the same problem gabbygo. After going back and forth on this topic here on this forum someone decided to close the discussion I started. There is much resistance from Adobe on this matter and they do not feel very comfortable when the bugs are made visible by customers. Strange cause that's actually how a software company should improve. They should be embrasing the opportunity to enhanse the product instead of approaching their paying customers as poison as soon as they identify chronic problems and bugs. There are also a great deal of bug problems with epubs. You can do a search on that topic both here and on Google. People seem to struggle a great deal with that as well, but those bugs are of course newer than the export to pdf bugs. It's sad the way things are developing, Adobe have become a very closed organisation not willing to deal with wide spread application bugs, sticking the head into the sand is hardly a wise solution.
I'm sorry I can't help you out on this. I wish I had some answers myself. Let's hope they will produce the fix you are asking for.

everytime i try to play the sims 3 on my 2011 13" macbook running os x lion it freezes afer several minutes. after doing research I found out it was because of an incompatible graphics card. any word on this being fixed anytime soon? or any way to get around this?

try updating linon to 10.7.2 plus there is a updated from electronic arts if you haven't done so already. I have a macbook with a nvidia 9400 which had the same problem. As soon as I downloaded the update from EA it solved the problem. The update from EA was done back on September 1st 2011.

The Bluetooth low energy protocol is not backward compatible with classic Bluetooth protocol. My iPhone 4s can not find my sonny in-dash player. However my iPhone 3GS does it. Very disappointed with this. Any idea how it can be fixed???

You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player? Not knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

As the other guys have said, don't use AE to render using temporal codecs. Temporal codecs like H264 rely on storing partial frames based on earlier information. AE renders and encodes one frame at a time, so most of the efficiency of a codec like H264 is lost. The result is that you get much lower overall quality from an AE h.264 render than if you were to encode it externally.
Adobe Media Encoder or Quicktime 7 will encode great quality H.264 files.
Also, AME has a lot of convenient features like encoding presets for common web services and devices.

I'm in the same boat: new to OS X and Mac, and in the middle of a book. I switched because I heard about the the ease of using Mac, but so far, for me, it's been a nightmare. I bought 2011 Office Mac and hate everything about it, the most recent being the inability to open or cut or paste any of my original word files. I understand that this could have easily been done with earlier versions, but not Mountain Lion (which I learned is what OSX is.) Since I work with language, I am amazed at the assumptions of the Apple community. It helps to use common language and explain even the basics.

Hi again, when you clicked on Mountain Lion and Lion in the App Store you are telling the laptop to reinstall them both.
You may have allowed simutanious downloads checked at the bottom of the window, I don't know, but I expect Mountain Lion is downloading, so Lion is waiting for it to finish, so if you have Mountain Lion installed cancel both download's.
Cancell both downloads anyway.
Go to the apple logo , top left, click on it, then click on about this mac, a window will open telling you what's installed, Mountain Lion is OX 10 version 10.8.2 click on more info, to find out more, Lion will be OX10 version 10.7.4.
Only update were it say's check for updates, not download now.

That's consistent with trouble with the Segoe UI fonts on your system.

We can however see all other website normally.

We moved from Blackberry to iPhone for 120 services in 2010. We have just renewed the iPhone fleet. Security was the issue for the business that employs me (lawyers). When comparing the two, Blackberry performed without issue most of the time but we experienced a number of issues with the trackballs on individual phones. This was, however, the first of the Blackberry Bold models. The expense behind the scenes was one of the major factors for the move. It was cheaper to run Exchange and iPhones than Blackberry services. Our lawyers on the whole adopted the iPhones and a number have become quite proficient at using them. We ensured that we had a means to securely wipe and lock business phones. We chose Mobile Iron for this purpose but you will find other products to do the same job. Cost is probably going to be the deciding factor here. Our only negative factor was butterfingers resulting in smashed glass with the iPhones although I have had one user drown several phones.
