Anybody else experiencing slowdowns in DW CS3 behaviors?

Question

When I try to change pages which use the "Set text of
container" behavior it
crashes DW-CS3. The dialog which used to come up first shows
a series of
asterisks in the drop-down for the container selected, and
the CPU does
overtime for about a minute before the correct values appear.
If I change
any values and OK it, then CPU starts using over 90% on DW
and nothing
happens until I force a shut-down (I've left it running for
over 15 mins!)
I have tried setting up a new document and new "Set text of
container"
behavior and a similar thing happens without crashing - the
behavior is just
REALLY slow.
Anybody else experiencing this?

Yes, likely a font problem. Have you run FontFinagler or FontNuke (free for the download) to clear potential problems? Do you have Font Doctor in order to examine the health of your fonts?
But this comment:
"and I try to manually break the next word down to the next line"
sounds like a bad habit borne from using QXP or PM or, more to the point, from not using paragraph styles where you have set the Hyphenation rules (like how many consecutive hyphens to allow) and Justification (the word spacing, the inter-word letter spacing, and the optional glyph scaling).
Set these properly, use them often, and rarely will you manually break lines anymore.
